La memòria de les arts escèniques catalanes i les TIC. L’experiència del Museu de les Arts Escèniques

El Museu de les Arts Escèniques (MAE) de l’Institut del Teatre de Barcelona engloba un museu, una biblioteca i un arxiu. L’Institut és el centre més important de formació, investigació i difusió de les arts escèniques de Catalunya i el MAE ha actuat des dels seus inicis en clau nacional recopilant documentació i objectes associats a les arts escèniques catalanes des de fa cent anys.Durant molts anys, va ser un centre focalitzat en la catalogació i la preservació de les seves col·leccions, però darrerament s’ha transformat en un centre modern que vol excel·lir en la cultura de la difusió del patrimoni i dels serveis de suport a la docència i la recerca. En aquest procés de transformació, dut a terme en sis anys, les noves tecnologies hi han tingut un paper clau. L’article presenta el MAE i entra, tot seguit,en el procés de canvi a través de les tecnologies de la informació que es va portar a terme en tres fases. La primera etapa (2008-2009), «Reacció», reflecteix el pas de treballar segons la demanda de les urgències a iniciar una planificació d’acord amb uns objectius. En la segona etapa (2010-2011), «Proacció», ja no solament es feia el que es demanava, sinó que es proposaven projectes. En el cas del MAE, es va desenvolupar la intranet corporativa i el sistema d’informació sobre espectacles. La tercera etapa (2012-2013), «Innovació», es caracteritza pel desenvolupament de projectes que són a l’avantguarda, com la creació d’un nou dipòsit digital basat en l’innovador frameworkHydra. Word2vec embeddings for playlist recommendation

Using the algorithm Word2Vec, a shallow two-layer neural network trained to reconstruct linguistic context of words, we have created several embeddings using tracks and playlist titles as words of an artificial vocabulary. Some experiments with different trade-offs between the diversity and the popularity of songs in playlists are analyzed and discussed. By means of combining a tracks embedding and a titles embedding our recommender has reached 19 percent of accuracy. Our model has been created and trained using the MPD (million playlists dataset) given by Spotify as part of the RecSys Challenge 2018

El text presenta un repàs sintètic de l'evolució demogràfica de Catalunya durant el període 1991-2005, que significa la inflexió respecte al llarg període d'estancament que seguí la crisi econòmica dels anys setanta. Aquest canvi de tendència, que ha fet possible el salt dels 6 als 7 milions d'habitants en un temps rècord, ha estat marcada, sobretot durant els primers anys del segle XXI, per la represa de les onades migratòries, aquest cop procedents de l'estranger, que són les responsables de canvis fonamentals en el conjunt de la dinàmica demogràfica de Catalunya, així com de l'estructura per sexe i edat i de la seva distribució en el territori

Effect of monovalent cations on the kinetics of hypoxic conformational change of mitochondrial complex I

AbstractMitochondrial complex I is a large, membrane-bound enzyme central to energy metabolism, and its dysfunction is implicated in cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. An interesting feature of mammalian complex I is the so-called A/D transition, when the idle enzyme spontaneously converts from the active (A) to the de-active, dormant (D) form. The A/D transition plays an important role in tissue response to ischemia and rate of the conversion can be a crucial factor determining outcome of ischemia/reperfusion. Here, we describe the effects of alkali cations on the rate of the D-to-A transition to define whether A/D conversion may be regulated by sodium.At neutral pH (7–7.5) sodium resulted in a clear increase of rates of activation (D-to-A conversion) while other cations had minor effects. The stimulating effect of sodium in this pH range was not caused by an increase in ionic strength. EIPA, an inhibitor of Na+/H+ antiporters, decreased the rate of D-to-A conversion and sodium partially eliminated this effect of EIPA. At higher pH (>8.0), acceleration of the D-to-A conversion by sodium was abolished, and all tested cations decreased the rate of activation, probably due to the effect of ionic strength.The implications of this finding for the mechanism of complex I energy transduction and possible physiological importance of sodium stimulation of the D-to-A conversion at pathophysiological conditions in vivo are discussed

Los cuatro están redactados y avalados por la Fadgi (Federal Agencies Digitization Guidelines Initiative) que nació en 2007 para definir pautas comunes, métodos y prácticas para la digitalización de audiovisuales de contenido histórico, pero ahora ha editado la colección de documentos del que forma parte el documento que es objeto de esta reseña y que trata ya de los documentos nacidos digitales

The role of communicative acts in the Dream process: engaging Moroccan migrants in a community development initiative in urban Spain

Abstract The present article offers relevant insights into how the evidence-based community development initiative known as the Dream process has had a positive impact on the inclusion, participation and leadership of a marginalized community of Moroccan immigrants in urban Spain. More specifically, we analyse how the commitment to promote dialogic communicative acts and to reduce power communicative acts during the process has attenuated some of the race, gender and class barriers that hindered the community's involvement in dialogic and decision-making spaces aimed at improving their living conditions. In this article, we first introduce the state of the art using studies that have examined the role of interaction and deliberation in community development processes in disadvantaged contexts. Then, we briefly refer to the deterioration of the living conditions of the Moroccan immigrant population in Spain. Finally, we present the main results obtained from the qualitative case study research carried out through the implementation of the communicative methodology. This case study provides both theoretical claims and practical orientations to examine how dialogic approaches can contribute to community development processes in contexts severely affected by racial segregation and poverty
