On Matter Coupling in 5D Kaluza-Klein Model

We analyze some unphysical features of the geodesic approach to matter coupling in a compactified Kaluza-Klein scenario, like the q/m puzzle and the huge massive modes. We propose a new approach, based on Papapetrou multipole expansion, that provides a new equation for the motion of a test particle. Mediated Intercultural Communication Barrier in No Drama Zone! Group

This research study aimed to describe the mediated intercultural communication barriers in the No Drama Zone! group. This study is a qualitative descriptive type of research, with case study method. By doing in depth interview and observation, researcher found two barriers that generates other barriers in the group's mediated intercultural communication. The two big barriers were: language and physical barriers. Language barriers in this group generated two barriers, emotional barrier and perception barrier. While the physical barrier generated two barriers, the time barrier and environment barrier. Each barrier had relation with the differences of cultural backgrounds and the computer mediated communication. Perdagangan Manusia Dalam Novel Sold Karya Patricia Mccormick

This research which is entitled “Perdagangan Manusia dalam novel Sold karya Patricia McCormick.” focuses on the theme of the novel that describes about human trafficking. The writer chooses this interesting novel as this novel is one of the McCormick's works which becomes a National Book Award finalist. The purpose of this study is to identify and categorize the types of human trafficking depicted in the novel. Through this research, the community is expected to know the types of human trafficking and can avoid becoming a victim of human trafficking. The writer uses the intrinsic approach to gain understanding through the plot of the novel and the extrinsic approach to analyze the novel that from social perspective. This research uses the theory from Wellek and Warren (1949), in their book, The Theory of Literature. According to them, literary works are social documents, which reflect a picture of social reality. The result of this research shows that there are many types of human trafficking, reflected through the plot and characters of the novel. Those types are Bonded Labor, Debt Bondage Among Migrant Laborers, Forced Labor, Forced Child Labor, Sex Trafficking, Child Sex Trafficking

Penghapusan Lisensi Paten Oleh Pemegang Hak Paten Menurut Undang-undang Nomor 13 Tahun 2016 Tentang Paten

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana perlindungan Hukum terhadap lisensi paten menurut UU No. 13 tahun 2016 dan bagaimana penghapusan Paten serta akibat hukumnya terhadap pemegang lisensi paten menurut UU No. 13 Tahun 2016. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian yuridis normatif, maka dapat disimpulkan: 1. Bentuk perlindungan yang diberikan Undang-Undang kepada pemegang lisensi adalah pemegang / penerima lisensi tidak wajib meneruskan pembayaran royalti yang seharusnya masih wajib dilakukan kepada pemegang paten yang berhak. Dalam hal pemegang paten sudah menerima sekaligus royalti dari pemegang/ penerima lisensi. Pemegang paten tersebut wajib mengembalikan jumlah royalti yang sesuai dengan sisa jangka waktu penggunaan lisensi kepada pemegang paten yang berhak. 2. Berdasarkan pembahasan di atas maka dapatlah diambil kesimpulan bahwa apabila paten tidak memenuhi ketentuan yang ditetapkan undang-undang, maka paten tersebut dihapuskan. Di dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 13 tahun 2016 paten dapat di hapuskan sesuai dengan ketentuan di dalam Pasal 130. Ketentuan Pasal 130: paten dihapuskan sebagian atau seluruhnya karena: a. Permohonan penghapusan dari pemegang paten dikabulkan oleh menteri. b. Putusan pengadilan yang menghapuskan paten dimaksud telah mempunyai kekuatan hukum tetap, c. Putusan penghapusan paten yang dikeluarkan oleh komisi banding paten. d.Pemegang paten tidak memenuhi kewajiban membayar biaya tahunan

Pengaruh Corporate Governance Terhadap Kinerja Keuangan (Studi Empiris Pada Perusahaan Perbankan Yang Terdaftar Di Bursa Efek Indonesia Tahun 2013-2016)

The performance and accountabilty board of directors, foreign ownership and mecanism of governance continue to be a matter of concern. If a company with that corporate governance is not running well enough will inflict disperancy on reporting information in the financial statements with the fact that actual happen in the company. Good corporate governance mecanism is expected to minimize the agency problems so the financial performance can be increase. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of corporate governance structure wich is internal corporate governace index, size of the board directors, and foreign ownership on financial performance proxied Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and Z-score in the banks that listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for period 2013 until 2016.The population of the study comprises firms listed on banking sector of the Indonesian Stock Exchange. The number of banking companies that listed in the Indonesian Stock Exchange during period 2013 until 2016 is 43. By using the techniques of purposive sampling, obtained a sample of 43 companies. The list companies for the period 2013-2016 is obtained from the website of Indonesian Stock Exchange.The findings show internal corporate governance index does not affect with financial performance proxied with ROA and ROE, but has an affect on Z-score. Boards of directors has an effect on financial performace proxied with ROA and ROE, in the other hand has a negative effect on Z-score. Foreign ownership has a negative effect on ROA and ROE, but does not affect with Z-score
