The phenomena of sports retreat is a topic relatively new in sports science, for this reason it is addressed currently ideas about the process towards the sports retreat as the last stage in a professional sport career and competitive longevity in long-term athletes. The objective of this systematic revision is to identify researches which involve the way how they assume the transition process towards the sports retreat and the detraining of athletes.   To carry out this work, it was necessary an examination of the data. Scopus, Ebsco and Sciencedirect along august 2022.  The analysis was done through a combination of the terms: Detraining, Retirement and Sport using the inclusion criteria. Published review articles in the last ten years, In English or Spanish that allow access to complete texts. During the search 16.642 articles were found. After applying different filters and keeping in mind the title and the research objectives, 165 of them were taken into consideration, which were examined with the application of the check list suggested by the PRISMA tool. It provided us 17 articles to be considered in this research. From these, two of them come from systematic revision, one of them with PRISMA methodology, besides four quantitative and 11 qualitative. Interfacial effects in La2/3Sr1/3MnO3 thin films with different complex oxide capping layers

Interfacialeffects in sputtered La2/3Sr1/3MnO3thin films with different capping layers (MgO, LaAlO3, SrTiO3, NdGaO3, and Au) have been locally investigated by means of x-ray absorption spectroscopy and x-ray magnetic circular dichroism at the Mn L3,2-edge. Data were acquired by using the total electron yield detection mode thus guaranteeing maximum sensitivity to the interface. The data show that LaAlO3 capping almost does not modify the bulklike Mn valence at the interface. In case of SrTiO3 and Au, the presence of divalent Mn is detected, whereas MgO and NdGaO3 capping lead to an increase of the Mn valence oxidation state. The modification of the nominal Mn valence state leads to depressed surfacemagnetization. We acknowledge financial support from the Spanish MEC (MAT2009-08024 and MAT2008-04931/NAN), CONSOLIDER (CSD2007-00041) and FEDER program. Rare Decays with a Light CP-Odd Higgs Boson in the NMSSM

We have previously proposed a light pseudoscalar Higgs boson in the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM), the A_1^0, as a candidate to explain the HyperCP observations in Sigma^+ -> p mu^+ mu^-. In this paper we calculate the rates for several other rare decay modes that can help confirm or refute this hypothesis. The first modes we evaluate are K_L -> pi pi A_1^0, which are interesting because they are under study by the KTeV Collaboration. We next turn to eta -> pi pi A_1^0, which are interesting because they are independent of the details of the flavor-changing sector of the NMSSM and may be accessible at DAPhNE. For completeness, we also evaluate Omega^- -> Xi^- A_1^0.Comment: 17 pages, 11 figure

Medical education reform in Tajikistan: comparison of the conventional one-year family medicine residency program and the new two-year residency program for postgraduate medical education

INTRODUCTION: The last two decades have seen a shift in former Soviet countries from highly specialized to more family medicine-focused systems. Medical education has slowly adjusted to these reforms, although the region is still at risk to have a chronic shortage of family doctors. This paper presents the evaluation of a new post-graduate family medicine program in Tajikistan, focused on competency-based training. The findings are relevant for policy makers, international organizations and practitioners participating in similar medical education reform programs. METHODS: We employed a quasi-experimental control group design and compared intervention residents, control group residents with traditional training, and 1st year residents with no training in two outcomes, clinical knowledge and competencies. We employed two objective measures, a written multiple-choice question test (MCQT) and an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), respectively. We report reliability and validity of the measures along with ANOVA, planned contrasts and effect size estimates to examine differences across groups. RESULTS: We found statistically significant differences in both clinical knowledge and competencies between intervention and control groups. We also detected a large intervention effect size. Participants in the intervention outperformed control group participants in the two measures. Our analysis suggests that intervention and control group participants are comparable in terms of initial knowledge and competencies, strengthening the argument that the intervention caused the improvement in the program outcomes. DISCUSSION: Receiving tailored training and structured opportunities to practice knowledge and competencies in clinical settings have a positive effect on the education of family medicine doctors in Tajikistan. Our results support curriculum reform and investment in medical education in the form of longer and supervised on-the-job preparation designed to be more in line with international standards. We discuss suggestions for future studies and potential requirements to inform replicability in other countries. CONCLUSION: Family medicine is well recognized as central to health systems throughout the world, but high quality residency training lags behind in some countries. Our study showed that investing in family medicine residency programs and structured training is effective in increasing critical clinical competencies. We encourage promoting comprehensive post graduate family medicine doctor training so that the goals of a family medicine centered health system are attainable

Nature of light correlations in ghost imaging

We investigate the nature of correlations in Gaussian light sources used for ghost imaging. We adopt methods from quantum information theory to distinguish genuinely quantum from classical correlations. Combining a microscopic analysis of speckle-speckle correlations with an effective coarse-grained description of the beams, we show that quantum correlations exist even in `classical'-like thermal light sources, and appear relevant for the implementation of ghost imaging in the regime of low illumination. We further demonstrate that the total correlations in the thermal source beams effectively determine the quality of the imaging, as quantified by the signal-to-noise ratio.Comment: 12 pages, 5 figures. Enhancement of spin orbit coupling at manganite surfaces

    Get PDF
Spin orbit coupling in magnetic systems lacking inversion symmetry can give rise to nontrivial spin textures. Magnetic thin films and heterostructures are potential candidates for the formation of skyrmions and other noncollinear spin configurations as inversion symmetry is inherently lost at their surfaces and interfaces. However, manganites, in spite of their extraordinarily rich magnetic phase diagram, have not yet been considered of interest within this context as their spin orbit coupling is assumed to be negligible. We demonstrate here, by means of angular dependent x ray linear dichroism experiments and theoretical calculations, the existence of a noncollinear antiferromagnetic ordering at the surface of ferromagnetic La2 3Sr1 3MnO3 thin films whose properties can only be explained by an unexpectedly large enhancement of the spin orbit interaction. Our results reveal that spin orbit coupling, usually assumed to be very small in manganites, can be significantly enhanced at surfaces and interfaces adding a new twist to the possible magnetic orders that can arise in electronically reconstructed system
