Analysis of cable structures by means of trigonometric series

    Get PDF
Cable structures are light-weight, expressive from an architectural point of view and allow covering large spans without intermediate supports. They are far superior to the conventional bearer systems of buildings and constructions. On the other hand, cables are very deformable and possess complex non-linear behavior under load. In spite of availability of special computer programs, designed for iteration analysis of cable systems, the problems of optimization require elaboration of analytical structural models. In the present paper, the behavior of flexible cables is analyzed by means of trigonometric series. This technique may be used for simulation of complex structures, comprising several tiers or flexible chords. It extends the scope of analytical approach on cables, influenced by substantially non-uniform loads. The present work also contributes to the analysis of flexible membrane systems, which are often simulated by a number of cables, arranged in mutual-perpendicular directions

Cable roof structure with flexible fabric covering

    Get PDF
The proposed roof structure consists of a frame covered with a flexible fabric membrane. The frame comprises steel cable members linked together by struts and ties. Calculation formulas, needed for static analysis of the proposed roof structure, are given. The technique for estimation of its basic parameters is offered. The proposed roof structure is intended to be used for public and industrial buildings having large column spacing. Its primary advantages are reduced overall height and possibility to tension the entire structure by means of small number of cables

    Bending-active dome-shaped structure

The structure, proposed in the present work, belongs to, so-called, “bendingactive” systems. It comprises high-strength low-modulus initially straight beams. The beams, arranged in the radial direction, are supported by spreaders and steel cables underneath. Tensioning of cables results in substantial shape modification of the beams and turning the structure into a convex dome. The frame of the structure is investigated by means of the special computer program EASY. Uniform and non-uniform external loads are taken into account. Influence of flexible fabric membrane, attached to the upper chord of the frame, is analyzed

State of the Active Component and Catalytic Properties of Pd/C Cata- lysts on the Selective Hydrogenation of Butadiene-1,3 into Butylenes

Palladium (0.25-5.8 wt.%) was supported on three different types of filamentous carbon in which the basal graphite planes are arranged along, crosswise and at a 45° angle to the axis of a nanofiber. HREM, XPS and X-ray techniques were used to study the state of high dispersed Pd particles supported on the filamentous carbon. It was established that the type of the carbon support affects the properties of the active component. The high disperse Pd particles most strongly interact with the prismatic planes of graphite to provide electron transfer from palladium to the support, which stabilizes palladium in a more dispersed state. Because of this strong interaction, Pd2+ is stabilized in the ionic state. A change in the properties of the palladium particles initiates changes in the catalytic properties of Pd/C catalysts in the reaction of selective hydrogenation of 1,3-butadiene into butylenes. An increase in the fraction of Pd2+ in the catalyst composition results in the decrease of both total activity and selectivity of Pd/C catalysts in the considered reaction

East Asia has realized that it has great risk to depend on the foreign capital, after 1997 financial crisis. East Asia tried to improve the financial system and strengthen financial cooperation, so as to avoid the recurrence of financial crisis. This thesis tries to address the issue of the financial integration of East Asia. First of all, the basis of financial integration of East Asia was anal...学位:经济学博士院系专业:经济学院国际贸易系_世界经济学号:2005140292

Regulation of the frictional characteristics disc brake

    No full text
The article presents the results of an experimental study of the influence of external vibration disturbances on the working elements of the friction unit, which simulate the power circuit of the disc brake: brake pad and brake disc. The studies were carried out on the original friction machine reproducing the interaction conditions of the disc brake elements on a scale of 1:100. Vibration impact on the working elements of the friction unit was carried out by means of a drive, which allowed to implement a sequence of power pulses in the frequency range 5–100 Hz. It is shown that due to the vibration disturbances of the working elements it is possible to influence the friction characteristics within 20–25%

Direct Deposition of Metal Film Patterns Using Nitrogen Laser

Rhenium, gold and platinum film micropatterns were obtained by the LCVD method on the surface of silicon and glass substrates from vapors of Re2(CO)10, (CH3)2Au(dpm), Pt(hfa)2, respectively. The heated reaction chamber at atmospheric pressure with a flow of an inert gas-carrier was used. The high marginal sharpness and the thickness uniformity of deposited films was provided by the use of a powerful nanosecond pulse nitrogen laser (λ = 337 nm), a projective system for delineation of the irradiation zone and by laser beam microscanning in the limits of the projective mask window. The metal pattern replicating the configuration of the projective mask window with a uniform 0.1-1 µm thickness was formed during 1-10 s. The writing rate of the straight metal lines was limited by the size of the irradiation zone and by the pulse repetition frequency and made of 150 µm/s. The smooth Re films were obtained with a good adhesion to the substrate and a surface resistivity of about Ω/square. The films of Au and Pt were deposited as layers of microdrops whose coupling with one another and with the contact ground determined the film resistivity. The melting of Au and Pt films occurs during the laser-induced deposition process and influences the film growth dynamics and the film-to-substrate adhesion
