Photocurable Bioink for the Inkjet 3D Pharming of Hydrophilic Drugs.
Novel strategies are required to manufacture customized oral solid dosage forms for personalized medicine applications. 3D Pharming, the direct printing of pharmaceutical tablets, is an attractive strategy, since it allows for the rapid production of solid dosage forms containing custom drug dosages. This study reports on the design and characterization of a biocompatible photocurable pharmaceutical polymer for inkjet 3D printing that is suitable for hydrophilic active pharmaceutical ingredients (API). Specifically, hyaluronic acid was functionalized with norbornene moieties that, in the presence of poly(ethylene) glycol dithiol, Eosin Y as a photoinitiator, and a visible light source, undergoes a rapid step-growth polymerization reaction through thiol-ene chemistry. The engineered bioink was loaded with Ropinirole HCL, dispensed through a piezoelectric nozzle onto a blank preform tablet, and polymerized. Drug release analysis of the tablet resulted in 60% release within 15 min of tablet dissolution. The study confirms the potential of inkjet printing for the rapid production of tablets through the deposition of a photocurable bioink designed for hydrophilic APIs
Implementación de un componente para el préstamo de material bibliográfico digital para la biblioteca virtual en el cib-ESPOL
En el presente artĂculo se resume cĂłmo se ha elaborado un componente para la Biblioteca Virtual de la ESPOL,
que busca facilitar la lectura, por medio de libros digitales, completos y de manera legal a través del préstamo de
los mismo, de manera online, usando la tecnologĂa de hoy en dĂa, que se encuentra cada vez mas al alcance de
todos, haciendo uso de la misma con mayor frecuencia gracias a su accesibilidad, rapidez e interactividad.
El componente constará de dos módulos, el administrador en donde se administrará el material bibliográfico y
el módulo usuario que permitirá a los estudiantes de la comunidad politécnica acceder mediante su usuario y
contraseña para asà poder realizar el préstamo del material que necesite.
Para el desarrollo de este componente se han utilizado tecnologĂas modernas como Responsive Web Design
Calibre, eCub y las tecnologĂas clásicas como MySQL, PHP, JavaScript, Jquery, entre otros
Modulation of pure spin currents with a ferromagnetic insulator
We propose and demonstrate spin manipulation by magnetically controlled
modulation of pure spin currents in cobalt/copper lateral spin valves,
fabricated on top of the magnetic insulator YFeO (YIG). The
direction of the YIG magnetization can be controlled by a small magnetic field.
We observe a clear modulation of the non-local resistance as a function of the
orientation of the YIG magnetization with respect to the polarization of the
spin current. Such a modulation can only be explained by assuming a finite
spin-mixing conductance at the Cu/YIG interface, as it follows from the
solution of the spin-diffusion equation. These results open a new path towards
