Dietary and Lifestyle Interventions for Symptoms Improvement in Chronic Inflammatory Conditions

Inflammation is associated with the development of a number of life altering chronic diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, asthma, renal disease, chronic pain, and gastrointestinal issues. Signs of inflammation can be seen systemically through symptom development in various body systems. Some of these symptoms can include mental health concerns like depression and anxiety, sleep disturbances, gastrointestinal irregularity, pain, appetite and weight issues, and acne or other inflammatory skin conditions. Lifestyle interventions like specific dietary and exercise recommendations, sleep hygiene, and proper hydration have been shown to significantly reduce the symptoms associated with systemic inflammation. The primary care setting is an excellent option for introducing anti-inflammatory guidelines to help patients manage their symptoms and improve long term outcomes by reducing the progression of inflammatory disease states. In order to realistically implement an anti-inflammatory protocol into primary care, a tool must be developed to assist providers in proper screening and identification of symptoms to guide individualized recommendations for the patient. This paper discusses the creation of a screening tool and evaluation of a pilot group for the implementation of an inflammatory guideline process in primary care. The goal of executing a screening tool and anti-inflammatory guideline in primary care is to improve patient outcomes, reduce overall healthcare costs, and offer providers a realistic process for managing inflammatory symptoms in patients. This pilot study did yield overall positive patient feedback regarding both reported symptom improvement and patient satisfaction with the provided interventions

Discount stores in the structure of retail trade in small towns in Poland

One of the most dynamic retail branches today is that of discount stores, which have been increasing their market share through a strategy of offering low prices. As the result of a number of mergers, takeovers, and rapid growth, several major discount chains have developed nationwide sales networks in Poland. They all have stores in many Polish cities, although the distribution of them is somewhat uneven. In this paper, the author attempts to analyze the development of sales networks in small cities in Poland. Using an analysis of the size and distribution of discount store chains in Poland author want to show the dynamics of this phenomenon.Handel detaliczny ulega w Polsce nieustającym zmianom strukturalnym, ilościowym oraz jakościowym. Małe miasta w Polsce, dysponujące dotychczas ofertą tradycyjnego handlu – stały się dla inwestorów sieci detalicznych intratnym miejscem lokowania swoich działalności. W wyniku ich ekspansji w małych miastach powstają supermarkety i sklepy dyskontowe największych operatorów handlowych w Europie (Tesco, Carrefour, Biedronka, Lidl, Netto). Mieszkańcy chętnie korzystają z ich oferty, a lokalni przedsiębiorcy zmagają się z rosnącą konkurencją. In der Fachliteratur wird Josip Zavrsnik (geboren 1769, verstorben nach 1843) aus Rijeka als einer der wichtigen Vorgänger Gajs erwähnt, was dessen Bemühungen um die Reform der kroatischen Latinica durch die Einführung des monographematischen Prinzips unter Verwendung diakritischer Zeichen angeht. Die Informationen über Zavrs- nilk sind sehr spärlich, weil sein Nachlass den Forschern nicht zugänglich war. K. Günther führt den Teil des Nachlasses, der nach dem Tode des Zavrsnik in Berlin aufgefunden worden ist, in einem summarischen Abriss über slawische Handschriften in Deutschland — veröffentlicht 1960 — auf. 1844 wurden in der Königlichen Bibliothek zu Berlin (heute: Deutsche Staatsbibliothek) 91 slawische Handschriften aufbewahrt. (Davon stammen sieben von Zavrsnik.) 1945 wunden sie aus dieser Bibliothek ausgelagert und gelten seitdem als verschollen. The subject of interest of this article are the factors that significantly affect the value system of younger school children living in the country. The particular roles in this area are played by the child’s individual predispositions, immediate environment — family, school, child‑raising environment and the media. It can be observed that children’s orientation of valuing— normative system — is highly influenced by their parents’ attitudes and values that they apply in life. Children learn how to behave by imitating people that are of significant value to them. Emotional experience and the opportunity to experience are most important to learn to value. Rural environment is the source of social and transcendental values — family and living according to religious principles are highly appreciated. Rural environment greatly influences the parenting attitudes and thus the development of the value system of the children who are brought up there. Shopping centers are an integral part of modern urban area and an important center of economic and social life. Their extensive range of shopping, entertainment and cultural activities attracts both residents and tourists, people in each age group. They have become a new urban space and alternative to the market and downtown. In the Silesian urban area there are numerous types of modern shopping malls, from the first to the fourth generation.Centra handlowe są integralną częścią współczesnych miast i aglomeracji, stanowią ważny ośrodek życia gospodarczego i społecznego. Transition from Early Childhood Special Education Programs to School Based Programs for Children Diagnosed with Developmental Delay in the State of Oregon : A Secondary Data Analysis

Background: Current policy in Oregon under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) indicates that children diagnosed with developmental delay (DD) are eligible for services before school, but not eligible for the receipt of services in school-based programs. Due to this definition of eligibility, children with DD face additional barriers transitioning from early intervention/early childhood special education into school-based education services. Purpose: The present study investigated the relationship between enrollment in school-based special education programs given a change in primary disability diagnosis before or after the age of five in children originally diagnosed with DD. Methods: Children met eligibility criteria for the present study if they were enrolled in early intervention/early childhood special education services in the State of Oregon with a primary disability diagnosis of DD and had a change in primary disability diagnosis before third grade (n= 5,076). Results: Odds of enrollment in special education during school were greater in children with a change in primary disability diagnosis after the age of five in comparison to children that had a change in primary disability diagnosis before the age of five, while adjusting for demographic characteristics (diagnosis after age five adjusted odds ratio: 2.37, 95% CI 1.92, 2.92). Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that children who exit IDEA because they have met the maximum age of eligibility are likely to reenter the special education system after a gap in the receipt of service access. A gap in service access during this period of development can have great implications on later life success
