The density of numbers having a prescribed G.C.D. with the th Fibonacci number
For each positive integer , let be the set of all positive
integers such that , where denotes the th
Fibonacci number. We prove that the asymptotic density of
exists and is equal to where is the M\"obius
function and denotes the least positive integer such that
divides . We also give an effective criterion to establish when the
asymptotic density of is zero and we show that this is the case
if and only if is empty
Probing the Surface of a Laccase for Clues towards the Design of Chemo-Enzymatic Catalysts
Systems featuring a multi-copper oxidase associated with transition-metal complexes can be used to perform oxidation reactions in mild conditions. Here, a strategy is presented for achieving a controlled orientation of a ruthenium–polypyridyl graft at the surface of a fungal laccase. Laccase variants are engineered with unique surface-accessible lysine residues. Distinct ruthenium–polypyridyl-modified laccases are obtained by the reductive alkylation of lysine residues precisely located relative to the T1 copper centre of the enzyme. In none of these hybrids does the presence of the graft compromise the catalytic efficiency of the enzyme on the substrate 2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid). Furthermore, the efficiency of the hybrids in olefin oxidation coupled to the light-driven reduction of O2 is highly dependent on the location of the graft at the enzyme surface. Simulated RuII–CuII electron coupling values and distances fit well the observed reactivity and could be used to guide future hybrid designs.L.S. was the recipient of a MinistHre de l’Education Nationale fellowship.

The greatest common divisor of linear recurrences
We survey the existing theory on the greatest common divisor gcd(u_n,v_n) of two linear recurrence sequences (u_n)_n and (v_n)_n , with focus on recent development in the case where one of the two sequences is polynomial
Problèmes d’intersections improbables en arithmétique
In this thesis, we consider some problems, coming from the theory of unlikely intersections, that can be solved by mostly arithmetical means. In the first chapter, we consider a problem of André--Oort type whose non-effective proof was given by Pila and Tsimerman. Here we prove the effective n=3 case: that is, we bound the triples of singular moduli that are multiplicatively dependent. The proof combines a detailed analysis of archimedean properties of the j-invariant with Galois arguments. In the second chapter, we give a bound of Bugeaud--Corvaja--Zannier type for the algebraic group G_a x G_m; the proofs are elementary. In the third chapter, we come back to GC problems for algebraic groups, and we show the strong Ailon--Rudnick property for G_a x G_m. Then we consider the group G_a x E, E an elliptic curve, for which one can define a GCD sequence indexed by ideals of the complex multiplication ring. We show an analogous Ailon--Rudnick property for this generalized sequence. The proof combines elementary sieve arguments with the study of reductions of E modulo primes.Dans cette thèse on considère quelques problèmes provenant dela théorie des intersections improbables qui peuvent être résolus avecdes méthodes principalement arithmétiques. The efficiency of preventive restructuring procedures: evidence from France
The paper evaluates the EU's Directive on restructuring and insolvency law, comparing the effectiveness of preventive restructurings with standard bankruptcies, finding that while preventive restructurings lead to higher survival rates, they also result in worse financial performance, challenging the notion that early restructuring is uniformly beneficial and highlighting the need for careful design of such procedures to avoid enabling non-viable firms to persist
Politics and Image
This volume on Politics and Image aims to provide a basis for reflection within the framework of Political Philosophy on the central role of the image in the current political landscape. However, this does not exempt the history of thought and other related academic disciplines from issuing their verdicts on this old dilemma between ideas and action. If the most visible face of this meeting is located in the territory Political Communication, the background rests on the concepts that ground our reality, dispersed and hidden, in the multiple screens that mediate life
