The research was carried out in Cuenca, the third most important city of Ecuador. Its main objective is to analyze the level of use, the administration of social networks and mobile applications, in the communication and marketing processes in Micro and Small sized enterprises (MIPES). Due to the globalizationof the Internet, it has meant that companies have to adapt to increasingly complex and competitive environments, creating value strategies to meet a new style of demanders, influenced by publications in different virtual media. Consumers are increasingly informed, and it has repercussions in a more demanding society of comfort. It is a quantitative research, and the sample was taken from the Micro and Small enterprises of the city. For the collection of information, a survey was implemented. Then, an instrument was applied to selected establishments. The measurement constructs were validated using the Cronbach’s alpha. The results show a low level of adoption of social networks in the microenterprise and a medium level in the small company. Additionally, it has been observed that establishments that use social networks and mobile applications for communication and marketing activities, it is not fully exploited, due to many factors such as: the lack of knowledge about the use and administration of social networks, it is deemed necessary, and the lack of trust and credibility among others.

Salivary duct lithiasis is a condition characterized by the obstruction of a salivary gland or its excretory duct due to the formation of calcareous concretions or sialoliths resulting in salivary ectasia and even provoking the subsequent dilation of the salivary gland. Sialolithiasis accounts for 30% of salivary diseases and most commonly involves the submaxillary gland (83 to 94%) and less frequently the parotid (4 to 10%) and sublingual glands (1 to 7%). The present study reports the case of a 45-year-old male patient complaining of bad breath and foul-tasting mouth at meal times and presenting with a salivary calculus in left Stensen´s duct. Once the patient was diagnosed, the sialolith was surgically removed using local anesthesia. In this paper we have also updated a series of concepts related to the etiology, diagnosis and treatment of sialolithiasis

Computer science approach to the stellar fabric of violent starforming regions in AGN

In order to analyse the large numbers of Seyfert galaxy spectra available at present, we are testing new techniques to derive their physical parameters fastly and accurately. We present an experiment on such a new technique to segregate old and young stellar populations in galactic spectra using machine learning methods. We used an ensemble of classifiers, each classifier in the ensemble specializes in young or old populations and was trained with locally weighted regression and tested using ten-fold cross-validation. Since the relevant information concentrates in certain regions of the spectra we used the method of sequential floating backward selection offline for feature selection. Very interestingly, the application to Seyfert galaxies proved that this technique is very insensitive to the dilution by the Active Galactic Nucleus (AGN) continuum. Comparing with exhaustive search we concluded that both methods are similar in terms of accuracy but the machine learning method is faster by about two orders of magnitude.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figure, Contribution to IAU Symp. 222, The interplay among Black Holes, Stars and ISM in Galactic Nuclei, Gramado, Brazil, 200

Suture needles in oral surgery : alterations depending on the type and number of sutures

This study examined whether the number and type of sutures used in oral surgery influence two ad hoc variables (incision plane and displaced area), which are two variables related to whether the suture needle is suitable for the task. Seventy-five TB-15 needles were studied, which were used to suture between zero and three mucosa and/subperiosteal sutures, producing 15 groups with 5 needles in each one. The incision plane and displaced area were measured for each group, which are two variables related to how the needle has worn and altered. Statistical treatment was conducted using the Kruskal-Wallis H test to compare multiple values and the Mann-Whitney U test to compare pairs. A multi-stage regression model was applied with the aim of predicting the changes in the dependent variables based on the number and type of sutures performed. The incision plane ranged from 126.67 to 346.24?m among the different groups. The displaced area was measured as being between 14 524.83?m 2 and 128 311.91?m 2. The best predictive model for the incision plane obtained a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.149, while it reached 0.249 for the displaced area. Subperiosteal sutures held more weighting among the variables studied. Mucosal sutures did not seem to greatly affect needle wear. Observations reported in this paper indicate that the needle should be changed after having performed two subperiosteal sutures, given the wear and change to the incision plane that is produced, which causes the needle's cutting ability to reduce. © Medicina Oral S. This paper projects the incidence of the cost of the Basic Family Basket to the Unified Basic Wage in 2020-2021 in the city of Machala, applying an analysis to the wage policy of that period and taking as study population the "Los Rosales" neighborhood of the urban area. The objectives respond to the analysis of the wage policy, the demonstration of violated rights, the criticism of that policy and the possibility of amending the constitution. The methodology is composed of the analytical, deductive, quantitative, comparative, hermeneutic and exegetic method. The structure synthesizes the purchasing power of Ecuadorians, the Basic Family Basket of Machala, the Unified Basic Wage, as well as the circumstantial causes and the poor legal applicability of the wage policy. Furthermore, to corroborate the particularity of the critical and legal analysis of this work, the position of the government, the Constitution, laws and ministerial agreements are interpreted. Additionally, two Constitutional Control actions on the freezing of the minimum wage are presented. Finally, surveys to the inhabitants of the delimited citadel are used to have a concrete statistical view. The results were that the basic salary did not cover their basic needs; that they did not have another family member in the household who did not receive the minimum wage; that they did not have a decent or stable job; as well as the lack of knowledge about the basic resources that comprise the basket.

Head circumference in infants has been reported to predict brain size, total grey matter volume (GMV) and neurocognitive development. However, it is unknown whether it has predictive value on regional and subcortical brain volumes. We aimed to explore the relationship between several head circumference measurements since birth and distributions of GMV and subcortical volumes at later childhood. We examined seventy-four, Caucasian, singleton, term-born infants born to mothers randomised to receive fish oil and/or 5-methyltetrahydrofolate or placebo prenatal supplementation. We assessed head circumference at birth and at 4 and 10 years of age and cognitive abilities at 7 years of age. We obtained brain MRI at 10 years of age, on which we performed voxel-based morphometry, cortical surface extraction and subcortical segmentation. Analyses were controlled for sex, age, height, weight, family status, laterality and total intracranial volume. Prenatal supplementation did not affect head circumference at any age, cognitive abilities or total brain volumes. Head circumference at 4 years presented the highest correlation with total GMV, white matter volume and brain surface area, and was also strongly associated with GMV of frontal, temporal and occipital areas, as well as with caudate nucleus, globus pallidus, putamen and thalamus volumes. As relationships between brain volumes in childhood and several outcomes extend into adulthood, we have found that ages between 0 and 4 years as the optimal time for brain growth; postnatal factors might have the most relevant impact on structural maturation of certain cortical areas and subcortical nuclei, independent of prenatal supplementation

An Alternative Synthesis of 3′,4′-Diaminoflavones to Evaluate Their Antioxidant Ability and Cell Apoptosis of Zebrafish Larvae

[[abstract]]We described herein a concise synthesis of 3′,4′-diaminoflavone 10. This new, three-step synthetic approach is more efficient than the conventional seven-step synthetic method. The route is shortened significantly by introducing the amino moieties early and eliminating the need for nitro group reduction. The other two analogues, 5,7-dihydroxy-3′,4′-diaminoflavone 11 and 5,7-dimethoxy-3′,4′-diaminoflavone 12, were also synthesized similarly. The above three compounds, along with flavone, were evaluated for their antioxidant and UVB-protection abilities on zebrafish larvae. The data showed that compound 10 exhibited the best result, with −102.3% of ROS-scavenging rate.[[journaltype]]國外[[incitationindex]]SCI[[ispeerreviewed]]Y[[booktype]]電子版[[booktype]]紙本[[countrycodes]]CH
