Evaluación del rendimiento del servicio de videostreaming adaptativo en redes inalámbricas

YouTube Live is one of the most popular services on the Internet, enabling an easy streaming of a live video with acceptable video quality. Thus, understanding user´s perception of this service is of the utmost importance for network operators. The image Quality delivered and user videoplayback behavior on YouTube Live streaming are important keys to ensure an adequate Quality of Experience (QoE). In this paper, an analytical model, and stacked Bar Graph to estimate the QoE for encrypted YouTube Live service from packet-level data collected in the interfaces of a wireless network is presented. The inputs to the model are Transport Control Protocol (TCP)/Internet Protocol (IP) metrics, from which two Service Key Performance Indicators (S-KPIs) are estimated, namely video quality level (itag) and, videoplayback connection ratio. The model is developed with an experimental platform, consisting of a user terminal agent, a WiFi wireless network, a network-level emulator, a Mitmproxy and a probe software. Model assessment is carried out by comparing S-KPI estimates with measurements from the terminal agent under different network conditions introduced by the network emulator.Universidad de Málaga. Situación actual del acogimiento familiar y acogimiento residencial en España

Este Trabajo Final de Grado, en primer lugar, recoge un acercamiento al acogimiento residencial y acogimiento familiar, derivada la información de las diferentes investigaciones, teorías y opiniones de expertos de la protección a la infancia. Seguidamente, hemos recogido los datos a través de un enfoque cualitativo de corte descriptivo, con entrevistas semi-estructuradas en profundidad, a cuatro profesionales y/o expertos del acogimiento residencial y acogimiento familiar. Para el análisis de los datos se ha utilizado la corriente en función de análisis o interpretación de los textos “interno” o “contextual”, más concretamente el análisis temático. Dichas entrevistas han tenido suficiente riqueza y visión desde las diferentes perspectivas, debido a la experiencia de los profesionales consultados. A través de estas entrevistas, hemos conocido según criterios técnicos cual es la preferencia de los profesionales para un menor, el acogimiento familiar o acogimiento residencial, según la casuística. También hemos profundizado en la realidad existente del acogimiento familiar y acogimiento residencial en relación a la Ley 26/2015, de 28 de julio1. Por otro lado, se han identificado las diferentes situaciones, barreras y problemáticas que existen en cuanto al acogimiento familiar y residencial en España. Y por último, en relación a lo anterior, hemos realizado una serie de propuestas para la mejora de la ejecución de las medidas de protección de menores. Los resultados nos han arrojado la preferencia del acogimiento familiar por delante del acogimiento residencial, aunque dependiendo de la casuística del menor, ya que hay en casos específicos que basado en criterios técnicos debe priorizarse el acogimiento residencial. También, hemos destacado como positivo las nuevas propuestas de la nueva ley, principalmente la referida a que prevalecerá la medida de acogimiento familiar sobre la de acogimiento residencial para cualquier menor de 6 años, aunque se necesita de dotarlo de recursos para que se pueda llevar a cabo. En tercer lugar, en cuanto al acogimiento familiar, se ha reflejado que las barreras y problemas existentes están en relación a la financiación y dotación de recursos, seguimiento, campañas de sensibilización y captación, formación de los profesionales, cultura del recurso, acogimiento profesional y ayuda complementaria al menor. Y en cuanto al acogimiento residencial, la financiación y dotación de recursos, estigma social, formación de los profesionales, intervención asistencialista, integración en la sociedad, excesiva burocratización y centros específicos. Por último, en cuanto a las propuestas, para el acogimiento familiar dotaciones económicas suficientes, ratio más bajo de profesional por familias, el seguimiento se realice de manera continua, dar el salto a familias profesionales o familias profesionales especializadas, creación de servicio en los centros de protección para que esas familias puedan verse con los niños, formación de profesionales en acogimiento familiar, recurso más abierto a la comunidad y coordinación con el acogimiento residencial. Las propuestas para el acogimiento residencial son responsabilidad pública y dotación económica suficiente, trabajo conjunto entre entidades y administración pública, profesionalización, apertura a la comunidad y a la sociedad y coordinación con el acogimiento familiar

Una traducción de la descripción de Hydroides norvegicus por Bishop Gunnerus, con comentarios sobre Serpula triquetra

In 1768 J.E. Gunnerus first described the species Hydroides norvegicus (Polychaeta, Serpulidae), the type of the genus Hydroides which today includes close to 90 species worldwide and is the largest serpulid genus. This description has therefore great value as a type description, but as it is written in an old-fashioned Danish/Norwegian language with a font which is hard to interpret, the description is rather inaccessible to most polychaetologists. This paper presents a translation of Gunnerus’ description of H. norvegicus and a brief review of the present day status of the species. Comments on Gunnerus’ description of Serpula triqvetra are also included, as well as references to his correspondence with Swedish naturalist Carolus Linnæus regarding the species in question.En 1768 J.E. Gunnerus describió la especie Hydroides norvegicus (Polychaeta: Serpulidae), especie tipo del género Hydroides. Este género incluye en la actualidad 90 especies, siendo el género más numeroso de la familia Serpulidae. Esta descripción presenta pues un gran valor como descripción del tipo; sin embargo, la descripción esta realizada en un antiguo y desfasado lenguaje mezcla del Danés y el Noruego, con fuentes difíciles de interpretar e inaccesibles para la mayoría de los poliquetólogos. Este trabajo presenta una traducción de la descripción de H. norvegicus realizada por Gunnerus y una revisión actualizada del “status quo” de la especie. Se incluyen asimismo comentarios realizados por Gunnerus sobre Serpula triqvetra, asi como referencias de la correspondencia que sobre esta especie realizó el autor con Carolus Linnæu

A data-driven user steering algorithm for optimizing user experience in multi-tier LTE networks

Multi-tier cellular networks are a cost-effective solution for capacity enhancement in urban scenarios. In these networks, effective handover schemes are required to assign users to the most adequate layer. In this paper, a data-driven self-tuning algorithm for user steering is proposed to improve the overall Quality of Experience (QoE) in multi-carrier Long Term Evolution (TE) networks. Unlike classical approaches, user steering is achieved by changing Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ) based inter-frequency handover margins. To drive the tuning process, a novel indicator showing throughput changes in the vicinity of handovers is derived from connection traces. Method assessment is carried out in a dynamic system-level LTE simulator implementing a real multi-carrier scenario. Results show that the proposed algorithm significantly improves QoE figures obtained with a classical inter-frequency handover scheme based on Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) measurements.Universidad de Málaga. Corruption and entrepreneurship: A bibliometric analysis

The impact of corruption on entrepreneurial dynamics became an attractive topic for scholars after the appearance of public scandals that led to the delegitimization of many governments in the last 40 years. The research that explored the relationship between corruption and entrepreneurship has produced controversial results. It appears that the interaction of these two constructs is influenced by contextual factors both at an individual and national level of analysis. By using a bibliometric methodology and a fractional counting method to analyse the scientific literature on corruption and entrepreneurship, this paper identifies and analyses 180 articles recorded in the Scopus database. It represents a contribution by showing the state of the art of research on corruption and entrepreneurship and proposes future lines of research. Important results have been found about the evolution of the volume of articles and citations on this topic over time. Significant academic interest in this field commenced in the 21st century, and more specifically in the last ten years. This work also provides findings about the most prolific journals, institutions and authors, as well as the most relevant countries, with the United States and United Kingdom leading in terms of the number of publications. In addition, an in-depth analysis of authors' keywords has identified different trends, such as institutions, economic growth, shadow economy, regulation, Africa, culture, economic development, business environment, and informal economy. Finally, some future research lines are proposed, such as institutional theory, tax morale, corruption perceptions, European regions, risk aversion and institutional entrepreneurship

Denne oppgaven tar opp utfordringer vi som sykepleiere står overfor i forhold til å motivere personer som enten står i fare for å utvikle diabetes-2, eller nylig har fått diagnosen, og har behov for å endre livsstil. Vi har valgt å gjøre en litteraturstudie i denne oppgaven, som har fått tittelen; … å motivere til mestring I oppgaven har vi blant annet valgt å se nærmere på hvordan den innledende relasjonsbyggingen og kommunikasjonen med pasienten har betydning for den videre prosessen mot atferdsendring, sett i lys av blant annet empowermentbegrepet, motivering, veiledning og opplæring. I den forbindelse tok vi med diktet ”Om at hjelpe” av Søren Kierkegaard da vi mener han her tar for seg mye av essensen i sykepleier pasient relasjonen. Problemstillingen vi har kommet frem til er: Hvordan kan vi som sykepleiere motivere pasienter med diabetes-2, til å gjennomføre helsefremmende livsstilsendringer? For å kunne motivere en pasient med diabetes-2 har vi kommet frem til at vi bør opprette en god profesjonell relasjon med pasienten, som bygger på tillit og likeverd. Vi må besitte nødvendig kunnskap om sykdommen, og om de mest hensiktsmesige metodene for å fremme atferdsendring. Empowerment er et sentralt begrep i denne prosessen. Det er pasienten selv som har ansvar for egen helse, men vi må fremme pasientens egen vilje til å ta dette ansvaret, og støtte han til å gjennomføre de nødvendige endringene
