College Student Behavior as an Evaluation of the Iowa Home Adjustment Inventory

One hundred forty freshman students, 56 women and 84 men, were given the Iowa Home Adjustment Inventory. Confidential information was then obtained on thirty out-of-town students. Raters reported on only those whose student behavior was specifically known to them. Ten freshman women live in the Women\u27s Dormitory. There is no men\u27s dormitory, and all the men live either at their own homes or in private homes. This made the desired information not as easily obtainable as on a campus where more students live in dormitories. Furthermore, the conduct of the student who is living at home does not so easily reveal confirmation or rejection or an intense affection score. Thus the results do not pile up in a quantitative way as they would in an effective dormitory system. But only the positive objective behavior data are here presented. Perspectives for using genetically encoded fluorescent biosensors in plants

Genetically encoded fluorescent biosensors have long proven to be excellent tools for quantitative live imaging, but sensor applications in plants have been lacking behind those in mammalian systems with respect to the variety of sensors and tissue types used. How can this be improved, and what can be expected for the use of genetically encoded fluorescent biosensors in plants in the future? In this review, we present a table of successful physiological experiments in plant tissue using fluorescent biosensors, and draw some conclusions about the specific challenges plant cell biologists are faced with and some of the ways they have been overcome so far

Extension of the operating parameters of the two stage light gas gun to velocities below 2 km/sec.

The Joint Actinide Shock Physics Experimental Facility (JASPER) located in area 27 at the Nevada Test Site Has been tasked with providing high accuracy information on the Equation Of State (EOS) and other dynamic properties of weapons grade plutonium and other actinides important to the stockpile stewardship program. In the past 5 years this facility has provided dozens of experimental data points for the accurate determination of pressure density relationship for these materials over a broad pressure range. In order to complete this survey it is necessary to extend the low pressure region to include projectile velocities below 2 km/s. For most gas gun facilities this would present not too great a difficulty, one could simply decrease the amount of propellant along with a decrease in the strength of the petal valve, However JASPER requires that the piston be securely embedded in the Acceleration Reservoir (AR) as part of the containment system. The projectile must remain flat and undistorted. This requirement makes the attainment of slow velocities problematic. This talk will discuss the JASPER Facility, A finite difference code developed to give predictive capability for two stage gas guns, and a set of experiments performed to demonstrate this capability

Establishing the Validity and Reliability of a Program Evaluation Questionnaire using Rasch Measurement Model

This study was conducted to establish the validity and reliability of the evaluation questionnaire for the 12th Regional Congress of the Search For SEAMEO Young Scientist (SSYS) 2022 using the Rasch Measurement Model that was aided by the Winsteps software.  The questionnaire contains 24 items that evaluate the Congress's objectives, inputs, as well as event management and administration.  Each item is rated on a 4-point rating scale.  The instrument was administered at the end of the 3-days SSYS Congress held virtually in which 1891 participants submitted their responses.  The establishment of validity and reliability of this questionnaire is crucial before further analysis is carried out.  The Rasch Model analysis showed that the reliability index of the respondents was 0.87 and person separation is 2.60, while the item reliability index is 0.96 with an item separation index of 5.08.  Item polarity indicates that the point measure correlation (PTMEA CORR) for the 24 items is between 0.67 to 0.76.  In terms of item fit, the results indicated one misfit item that needs improvement in the future.  The Principal Component Analysis (PCA) shows that almost all the items are unidimensional and intended to measure a similar trait.  All these indicate the reliability of the questionnaire, and researchers can proceed with further data analysis to evaluate the 12th Regional Congress of the SSYS 2022

Pada era modern ini, banyak orang rela mengeluarkan biaya yang cukup besar untuk membeli maupun mengadopsi hewan peliharaan khususnya anjing dan kucing dengan tujuan kesenangan pribadi maupun untuk dijadikan teman, namun banyak orang yang ternyata belum siap berkomitmen merawat anjing dan kucing setiap harinya seperti membersihkan litter box yang sudah penuh kotoran, membawa ke klinik hewan untuk divaksin atau ketika sedang sakit dan perawatan intensif ketika hewan peliharaan terkena virus hal – hal seperti ini yang belum dipikirkan secara matang oleh banyak orang yang menginginkan memelihara hewan peliharaan, banyak orang yang belum siap dengan komitmen seperti itu lalu akhirnya memutuskan untuk menelantarkan hewan peliharaanya yang dapat berakibat hewan peliharaan tersebut menjadi korban penyiksaan orang di jalanan, dengan ini diperlukan perancangan untuk mensosialisasikan pentingnya kesiapan calon pet owner sebelum memutuskan memelihara hewan peliharaan khususnya anjing dan kucing. Bevrijdende verweren: een onderzoek naar het onderscheid tussen een grondslagverweer en een bevrijdend verweer en de consequenties van dit onderscheid voor de civiele procedure

De doelstelling van dit onderzoek is het begrip 'bevrijdend verweer' nader te definiëren, het begrip af te bakenen en structuur in het leerstuk aan te brengen. Een systematische, overzichtelijke ordening is hierbij leidraad. De reeds bestaande inzichten over het begrip zijn in het onderzoek verwerkt. Het boek biedt zowel verdieping als praktische toepasbaarheid; het onderzoek beoogt niet alleen de wetenschap te dienen, maar vooral ook de civiele procespraktijk. De insteek is pragmatisch; een zo efficiënt mogelijk gevoerde civiele procedure is voor de rechtspraktijk van groot belang. Aan de praktijkjurist worden instrumenten geboden om een goede analyse te kunnen maken van de stelplicht en bewijslast in een te behandelen zaak; niet alleen aan verweerder ingeval van een mogelijk beroep op bevrijdend verweer, maar ook aan eiser om te kunnen anticiperen op een mogelijk bevrijdend verweer. Regelmatig worden illustratieve praktijkvoorbeelden en processuele tips gegeven. De (relatief) korte (sub)paragrafen van het boek zijn zodanig opgebouwd dat het boek tevens als naslagwerk kan dienen. Het is van belang dat een praktijkjurist zijn bewijsrechtelijke positie kan bepalen op basis van de feitelijke grondslag en weet te anticiperen op de waarschijnlijke bewijslastverdeling. Een advies om al dan niet te gaan procederen of verweer te voeren wint dan aan zeggingskracht. Een goede analyse van de wederzijdse stellingen en de daaraan verbonden rechtsgevolgen is daarbij startpunt. Vooraf moet een oordeel worden gevormd over de haalbaarheid van een procedure in verband met eventuele procesrisico's. Veel gespecialiseerde praktijkjuristen opereren in bepaalde  echtsgebieden en zijn zich er soms niet van bewust dat bewijsrechtelijke beslissingen samenhangen met het algemene bewijsrecht, waaronder begrepen regels inzake bevrijdende verweren. Het boek beoogt een gefundeerde toepassing in de rechtspraktijk van het bevrijdend verweer te bewerkstelligen zodat het begrip 'bevrijdend verweer' meer inhoudt dan een toverformule.Coherent privaatrech
