Resumo O presente artigo resgataremos o conceito da categoria trabalho e da categoria processo de trabalho e explicitaremos suas relações com o Serviço Social, tendo em vista a aproximação dessa profissão com a teoria social de Marx. Realizaremos uma síntese de como essa discussão atravessou a produção intelectual do Serviço Social a partir dos anos 1990

RESUMO: O processo de contrarreforma na política de saúde teve início nos anos de 1990 e tem continuidade no limiar do Sec. XXI, sendo responsável pelas reduções dos investimentos públicos e pelo retrocesso dos direitos sociais conquistados no âmbito da seguridade social, em especial na política de saúde. A partir da análise da ofensiva neoliberal e do social-liberalismo como sua variante, se discute a adesão do Hospital Universitário Alcides Carneiro a ser administrado pela Empresa Brasileira de Serviços Hospitalares no município de Campina Grande/Paraíba

Síndrome das pernas inquietas : evolução após um ano sem tratamento

PURPOSE: The primary concern of this study is to evaluate the clinical course of restless legs syndrome (RLS) in a group of patients who refused treatment. METHOD: This study compares the outcome of a group of RLS patients after one year without any specific treatment. The International Restless Legs Syndrome Scale (IRLS) was applied at baseline (irls_1) and after one year (irls_2). The patients answered a simple questionnaire for the evaluation of possible environmental or life habit changes after one-year evolution. Serum ferritin was determined at baseline. An improvement index (%improvement) was established through the formula: irls_1– irls_2/irls_1 ' 100. Results were compared and a correlation analysis performed. RESULTS: A negative significant correlation was found between the patientsí age and irls_2 (r= –0.9 p=0.0018) and between %improvement and irls_2 (r= –0.88 p=0.0039). A positive and significant correlation was determined between %improvement and age. There was only a marginally significant correlation between serum ferritin and ilrs_2 (r= –0.7 p=0.052). No significant changes were found in the other elements analyzed. CONCLUSION: A favorable outcome was found in this group of RLS patients after one year evolution without treatment. The outcome was positively influenced by the patientsí age. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTOBJETIVO: O objetivo deste estudo é avaliar a evolução de oito pacientes com diagnóstico de síndrome das pernas inquietas (SPI) após doze meses sem tratamento. MÉTODO: Estudo de coorte, retrospectivo, consistindo na aplicação da escala de gravidade da SPI (IRLS), de questionário para avaliação de mudanças ambientais ou de hábitos de vida e dosagem de ferritina sérica. Realizada comparação da pontuação IRLS obtida na consulta inicial (irls_1) e após doze meses de evolução (irls_2) e estabelecido um índice de melhora percentual (%melhora=irls_1 – irls_2 / irls_1 ' 100). Análise de correlação dos dados obtidos. RESULTADOS: Foi demonstrada correlação negativa e significativa entre a idade e a irls_2 (r= –0,9 e p=0,0018) e entre %melhora e irls_2 (r= –0,88 e p=0,0039). Encontrou-se correlação positiva e significativa entre %melhora e a idade. Houve apenas correlação negativa marginalmente não-significativa entre a dosagem de ferritina sérica e ilrs_2 (r= –0,7 e p=0,052). CONCLUSÃO: Neste grupo demonstrou-se evolução favorável da SPI após doze meses que se correlacionou positivamente com a idade dos pacientes, não tendo sido influenciada aparentemente por hábitos de vida ou mudanças ambientais

Influência da temperatura no rendimento dos produtos da carbonização de Eucalyptus microcorys

During charcoal production different products are formed. These products are influenced primarily by the temperature of carbonization. Given that charcoal is the main input in the production of pig iron in Brazil, this study evaluated the influence of final temperature of carbonization of the products generated and also the influence of the radial and longitudinal sampling on the yield of each product. Samples were taken from internal and external position along the radius and also from three different heights from four Eucalyptus microcorys trees. The samples were carbonized in an electric furnace with an experimental water-cooled condenser and a collecting bottle of condensable volatile materials. The final temperatures of carbonization were 500, 600, 700, 800 and 900°C. The gravimetric yield, tar and non-condensable gases were calculated. The results showed no difference in the gravimetric yield in the longitudinal and radial positions studied, while the tar yield and non-condensable gases showed temperature variations of 700°C and 800°C and the variation of the gravimetric yield temperatures between 500°C to 900°C was 15%, the change of yield of tar from the radial direction of sampling was on average 8%, the variation of the yield of non-condensable gases in a radial sampling was on average 16%. Síndrome das pernas inquietas associada a insuficiência cardíaca e agravada após troca valvular : maldição de Vesper?

The restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a neurological disorder characterized by symptoms of discomfort (usually paresthesias) in the limbs, predominating in the afternoon, present mainly at rest and alleviated by movement. The symptoms usually appear in the late afternoon or at night, which may bring on a significant increase in sleep latency and contribute to poor sleep quality1. Since the prevalence of RLS increases with age2, heterogeneous conditions are likely to be identified in association with other illnesses typical of advanced age, making diagnoses more complex, and indicating the importance of studying these secondary forms, and their possible physiopathological mechanisms. We report a case of RLS associated to important abnormalities of the cardiac function in an elderly patient, who underwent several cardiac surgical interventions, and discuss the possible implications of this cardiac dysfunction in the etiology and maintenance of the motor symptoms. CONCEIÇÃO EVARISTO E DESOBEDIÊNCIA EPISTÊMICA: CONTRIBUIÇÕES PARA PENSAR A ESCREVIVÊNCIA A PARTIR DA DECOLONIALIDADE

Este artigo objetiva discutir o termo escrevivência, criado por Conceição Evaristo, estabelecendo sua relação com a decolonialidade. Tem o intuito de defender a escrevivência como saber decolonial que, portanto, promove o enfrentamento à violência colonial, historicamente, imposta às pessoas negras. Objetiva compreender a colonialidade como um processo que desumanizou e desumaniza as mulheres negras, e, por conseguinte, os seus saberes, como a própria escrevivência. O artigo pretende realizar a defesa da escrevivência como um enfrentamento a esse processo, já que a colonialidade esteve calcada em referenciar os saberes a partir da hierarquização pela raça, privilegiando a produção advinda dos homens brancos

Objetivo: Verificar o conhecimento de pacientes em acompanhamento ambulatorial sobre a terapia com anticoagulantes orais. Métodos: Estudo de corte transversal com abordagem quantitativa, realizado no Pronto Socorro Cardiológico de Pernambuco (PROCAPE) com 100 indivíduos. Utilizou-se instrumento específico de 10 questões. Foram atribuídas pontuações às respostas, posteriormente classificadas como conhecimento insuficiente, conhecimento regular e conhecimento adequado, segundo ponto de corte. A pesquisa foi aprovada por Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa, CAAE nº30622114.2.0000.5192. Resultados: Apenas 39% dos indivíduos apresentaram conhecimento adequado sobre o tratamento. Houve significância estatística nas associações do conhecimento com sexo (p=0,042), idade (p= 0,015), anos de estudo (p=0,021) e tempo médio de acompanhamento ambulatorial (p=0,010). Conclusão: A predominância de conhecimento não adequado (61%) demonstram a necessidade de implementação de estratégias educativas que favoreçam a compreensão sobre o tratamento, estimulando a adesão farmacológica e reduzindo eventuais complicações.

O inquérito policial e seu valor probatório

O presente trabalho tem por objetivo estudar o inquérito policial em geral, e especialmente o seu valor probatório na fase processual, apesar de algumas divergências relevantes, concluiu-se que para embasar uma sentença condenatória em face do acusado, os elementos colhidos na fase inquisitorial necessitam de ratificação em juízo, do contrário ele não pode ser utilizado, pois nele não há o contraditório. Os direitos e garantias fundamentais dos acusados também foram temas discutidos neste trabalho, pois ao serem estabelecidos não especificam o indiciado, mas apenas os acusados. A finalidade do estudo é justamente investigar se tais garantias são resguardadas aos investigados e indiciados durante a fase inquisitorial. Outra preocupação foi estudar a possibilidade de o Ministério Público investigar. Para tanto, foi apresentada correntes favoráveis e contrárias à investigação por parte do parquet. Finalmente fora exibido o posicionamento do Supremo Tribunal Federal a respeito da matéria, o qual foi firmado dia 14 de maio de 2015 no RE 593727/MG, de modo a encerrar a discussãoThis paper aimed to study the police investigation in general and especially the probative value in procedural stage, despite some significant differences, it’s possible to conclude that to base a conviction in the face of the accused, the elements gathered in the inquisitorial stage need judgment for ratification, otherwise it can not be used because there is no contradiction in it.
