    Nel tradurre Processo e realtà è importante considerare che l'opus magnum di Whitehead ha una natura metafisica, cosmologica e sistematica. Il sitema di Whitehead è aperto; le sue categorie sono interrelate e non vanno considerate separate dall'intero del sistema metafisico. Le generalità metafisiche sono difficili da esprimere e il nostro linguaggio è fortemente limitato. Ciononostante, il traduttore di Processo e realtà deve saper cogliere le parole esatte e rigorose al fine di rendere quella vera e propria "rivoluzione linguistica" introdotta da Whitehead nel suo testo. La traduzione italiana bilingue di Processo e realtà condotta da Maria Regina Brioschi ha in questo senso raggiunto un risultato eccezionale.In translating Process and Reality it is important to bear in mind that Whitehead’s magnum opus has a metaphysical, cosmological and systematic nature. Whitehead’s system is an open one; its categories are interrelated and should not be considered apart from the wholeness of the metaphysical system. Metaphysical generalities are hard to express and our language is greatly limited. Notwithstanding, the translator of Process and Reality needs to seize exact and rigorous words in order to achieve the true “linguistic revolution” introduced by Whitehead in Process and Reality.     Grufalões, cuquedos e outros bichões... A criança e a ilustração do fantástico

    O poster tem por objectivo apresentar a vivência de um projecto que emergiu a partir de histórias contadas pela educadora, recontadas e ilustradas pelas crianças. O trabalho foi desenvolvido numa sala de um Jardim-de-infância da rede pública. O projecto desenvolveu-se a partir da leitura de obras literárias de potencial recepção infantil (Azevedo, 2006: 12). Seleccionaram-se obras que evidenciassem uma inequívoca preocupação estético-literária e que propiciassem às crianças uma visão múltipla e aberta do mundo e da vida (Cerrillo, 2001: 88). Foram percorridos diferentes caminhos de leitura. Em todos eles se privilegiou a ilustração, trabalhando com as crianças possibilidades de representação icónica do imaginário e dos estados anímicos. Efectivamente, os desenhos das crianças (tal como os seus textos) “constituem produções preciosas para o exame do imaginário infantil” (Macedo e Silva, 2009: 17). Nestes percursos, as crianças manifestaram a tendência para a corporização do imaginário pelo desenho, evidenciando a personificação/humanização quer do fantástico quer das entidades percepcionadas no mundo empírico. O projecto desenvolveu, pois, essa peculiar capacidade infantil de ver com um outro olhar – um olhar inaugural – e alargou a compreensão que cada criança vai construindo do mundo bem como a compreensão do seu ser-no-mundo, a partir da representação imagética

    Assessing the comprehension of texts by first-year college students

    UIDB/03213/2020 UIDP/03213/2020In Portuguese society, humor has been gaining prominence as an instrument of criticism and reflection on reality, and is highly sought after in all media. One of the current names of reference is Ricardo Araújo Pereira (RAP), a Portuguese humorist, much appreciated by the public, whose texts are based on language games and multiple cultural and social references that can challenge interpretation, especially by young people. The present work is part of a project based on the analysis of a corpus of fifteen humor columns by RAP, published in the magazine Visão, between February and September, 2020, which focus on several issues surrounding COVID-19, in the fields of science, social life and politics. Our objectives are: to describe and characterize the text genre humor column; to understand how language dynamics contribute to the development of thematic content; to assess the reception and understanding of the mechanisms of humor present in the texts. For this work, we focus on the third objective, namely, to assess the level of understanding evidenced by the first-year students of the Journalism and Communication course at the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre. Therefore, we selected two texts which were submitted to the students’ interpretation, through an individual questionnaire with closed and open answer questions. The analysis of the results showed the strengths and weaknesses of the media literacy of humor, opening paths and horizons for the didactic exploration of texts in higher education classroom.publishersversionpublishe

    Queer TV: The Impact of Representation on the Portuguese LGBTQ+ Community

    A televisão desempenha um papel crucial na vida das pessoas, não só influenciando as suas opiniões individuais, mas também a cultura popular, uma vez que alcança grandes audiências. Neste sentido, as representações e histórias de pessoas marginalizadas são cada vez mais importantes. Particularmente pertinente é a representação de indivíduos LGBTQ+, que não só serve como forma de representar as suas experiências, mas também, se for feita corretamente, pode desafiar estereótipos e promover a compreensão entre aqueles que não pertencem à comunidade. No entanto, para além da mera visibilidade, a representação LGBTQ+ nos media pode ser um recurso formativo para as próprias pessoas LGBTQ+, especialmente nos seus anos de desenvolvimento. Este estudo explora o impacto da representação na televisão portuguesa na comunidade LGBTQ+ nacional, examinando a forma como esta afeta a sua autoaceitação, autoestima, sentimento de pertença e no geral o seu bem-estar. Através de relatos de membros da comunidade LGBTQ+, estas descobertas revelam um sentimento comum: a maioria considera a representação atual como negativa e estereotipada, uma influência que os afetou significativamente. Acreditam, ainda, que a exposição a mais personagens LGBTQ+ quanto cresciam poderia ter ajudado a compreender melhor as suas identidades.Television plays a crucial role in people's lives, not only influencing individual opinion but also popular culture, as it reaches massive audiences. In this sense, portrayals and storylines of marginalized people are increasingly more important. Particularly pertinent is the portrayal of LGBTQ+ individuals, which not only serves as a way to represent their experiences but also, if done correctly, can challenge stereotypes and foster understanding amongst those outside of the community. However, beyond mere visibility, LGBTQ+ representation in media holds immense value as a formative resource for LGBTQ+ individuals themselves, especially in their developmental years. This paper explores the impact of representation on Portuguese television on the national LGBTQ+ community, examining how these affected their self-acceptance, self-esteem, sense of belonging and overall well-being. Through accounts from members of the LGBTQ+ community, these findings unveil a prevalent sentiment: the majority perceive the current representation as negative and stereotypical, an influence that has significantly impacted them. They believe that exposure to more LGBTQ+ characters while growing up could have helped them understand better their own identities

    Buildings and places in consumers’ perceptions of authenticity of corporate heritage brands: The Vista Alegre case study

    While being a recent topic in the corporate marketing literature, corporate heritage brands are an acknowledged topic of research. A corporate heritage brand is a brand that embraces its own past in a relevant way, and that takes advantage of that past, in the present and to build a successful future. The purpose of this study is to understand the impact of buildings and places in consumers’ perceptions of authenticity in corporate heritage brands. This study was, therefore, designed within qualitative-inductive research, consisting of a single case study. The research process consisted of the analysis of 25 semi-structured interviews. This study’s contributions include geographical proximity of the spaces of corporate heritage brands to the residents, as a reason for consumers to visit the space while the region is part of the brand’s identity. Besides, by including stores from other brands in their space, corporate heritage brands can increase consumers’ chance to visit the space, while developing a cohesive image for consumers. Factors such as the aging of the buildings in the space of corporate heritage brands, as well as the representation of the company’s effort to provide good living conditions for the workers, influence consumers’ assessment of authenticity of the space

    THE CONFLUENCE OF I.4.0 TECHNOLOGIES AND NEW BUSINESS MODELS: A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW

    Objective of the study: The study's objective is to provide a systematic literature review on the coevolution of the Technologies associated to Industry 4.0 and business models. Methodology/approach: The research was built on conceptual blocs at the interface between Industry 4.0 (I 4.0), business models (BM) and digitalization /digital business models (DBM) in order to identify relevant trends. Through bibliometric techniques, 80 articles were selected from Scopus and WoS, using specialized software. Originality/ Relevance: Few studies exist on the interface under analysis. This article contributes to this emerging literature, providing a synthesis of such literature, including both a detailed descriptive component and an analysis of the main thematic clusters associated to this interface. Main results: The literature still needs to evolve into a framework of a 4.0 business model. The majority of the existing studies focus on business models to specific technologies associated to Industry 4.0. Among the 80 articles scrutinized, 56 were associated to business models and I4.0, and 24 linked business models and digitalization. Few really described a business model that could be characterized as an I4.0 business model. Theoretical/methodological contributions: Identification of key studies underlying the elaboration of an innovative business model associated to I4.0. An immediate and useful characterization of the literature. Identification of the main thematic clusters. Social/management contributions: To provide academics and professionals (especially in Business/Economics) with a detailed and thorough review of the most relevant literature, including the main aspects underlying the creation of innovative business models based on I4.0
