The performance of modified jatropha-based nanofluid during turning process
The industry's extensive use of petroleum-based metalworking fluid (MWF) harms the environment
and humans. The production of bio-based MWF, especially from crude jatropha oil (CJO), has therefore taken
numerous initiatives. This aimed to formulate newly modified jatropha oil (MJO) with the addition of 0.05wt.%
hBN and 0.05wt.% MoS2 as the nanofluid for MWF. The performance of the nanofluids was determined
through the turning process in terms of cutting temperature, workpiece surface roughness, tool life and tool
wear of the tool lubricated by the nanofluids. The performance of the nanofluid samples was compared with
the synthetic ester (SE). From the results, after conducted 100mm axial cutting length MJO+hBN+MoS2
recorded the lowest in cutting temperature and surface roughness compared to all samples. The result shows
that MJO+hBN+MoS2 has longer tool life (6500mm) compared to SE (6000mm). Abrasion and adhesion were
observed as the dominant tool wear mechanism. In conclusion, MJO+hBN+MoS2 shows better machining
performance and has the potential to be an environmentally friendly metalworking fluid
Meningkatkan Pendapatan Peternak Melalui Usaha Domba dan Nilai Jual: Improving the Farmers' Income Through Sheep Business and Sale Value

Agent-Based Simulation Of Crowd At The Tawaf Area.
Every year during the Hajj season there is a concentration of more than two million people within the vicinity of the Masjid Al-Haram. Congested areas, such as the tawaf,, may reach beyond a safe level of four people per square meter during this peak period. The Tawaf area together with the Ottoman construction is able to accommodate up to 72,000 people (in a praying position). Simulation of the movement and behavior of such a huge crowd can be useful in managing this important event. One of the recent trends in modeling and simulation is the agent technology which has been used to model and simulate various phenomenon such as the study of land use, infectious disease modeling, economic and business study, urban dynamic and also pedestrian modeling. In this paper we use multi-agent based method to simulate the crowd at the Tawaf area. We present the architecture of the software platform which implements our proposed model and briefly report our early experience in using- Repast J which is an agent-based simulation toolkit to model the crowd at the area
Development of TNB distribution network risk based asset replacement policy and guideline for medium voltage primary equipment
Asset Management (AM) is the systematic and coordinated activity of an organization to realize value from assets, through which an organization optimally and sustainably manages its assets and asset systems, their associated performance, risk and expenditures over their life cycle for the purpose of achieving its organizational strategic plan. An effective AM System enables TNB Distribution to establish and verify a holistic view of asset management throughout an asset’s whole life. It facilitates an optimal mixture of capital, operations, maintenance, resourcing, risks, performance and sustainability within a framework of good governance
Assessment of the teaching of Islamic and Asian Civilisation (TITAS) with the use of Audio Visual Aids (AVA)
The study to identify the first semester, Advanced Diploma students’ perceptions towards the teaching and learning of Islamic and Asian Civilisation (TITAS) with the use of Audio Visual Aids (AVA) in two polytechnics of Malaysia Higher Education Ministry (MOHE). Respondents are 33 students of Advanced Diploma Programme which are the overall population in the two polytechnics chosen for the study. The findings revealed that there is a high perception towards the teaching and learning of the course where the mean score of set induction as in 4.53 (SD 0.47), teaching and learning progress as in 4.48 (SD 0.39), approach as in 4.47 (SD 0.38), value inculcation as in 4.52 (SD 0.42), closure as in 4.32 (SD 0.56) and the use of audio visual aids (AVA) as in 4.32 (SD 0.39). There is no significant difference between both polytechnics for the assessed variables as revealed in the comparative analysis
Evaluation Of Existing Software For Simulating Of Crowd At Masjid Al-Haram,
Crowd simulation has played an important role in solving situations such as building evacuation, crowd congestion, and pedestrian analysis. In order to improve the crowd congestion problem within and the surrounding area of the Masjid Al-Haram, we need a tool which could reproduce specific scenarios and study the possible controls that could ease the problem. This paper explains the criteria to be considered in evaluating the crowd simulation software for the Masjid Al-Haram under both, normal and
emergency situations. Our study has led us to the most suitable software package that meets our requirements. We have also identified the main features that we should (later) incorporate in our own design of the simulation system of the Masjid Al-Haram
MITIGATING THE INFLUENCE OF DENSE OIL FIRES ON FREE-SPACE OPTICAL COMMUNICATION
This study estimates the performance of a free space optical system (FSO) affected by air pollutants from oil fires. Simulations are performed to evaluate the reliability of optical propagation according to the length of the FSO channels under two beam angle angles. The proposed FSO system parameters such as the Q-factor, BER and reception capacity are successfully used to reduce channel loss. Results demonstrate that the proposed FSO link performs satisfactorily when the divergence angle is 1 mrad and the distance is from 0.5 km to 0.9 km. Q-factor and receiving power decrease when the divergence angle of beam increases to 2 mrad, and a link is achieved when the distance is from 0.5 km to 0.7 km. The eye diagram is used to evaluate and confirm the quality of received data. An eye opening is observed at 0.5 km for both divergence angles. Then, the eye completely closes at 1 km for 2 mrad, thereby degrading the performance. Therefore, these results can be conducted for similar systems optimization options by applying our analysi
Experimental analysis of tribological performance of modified jatropha oil enriched with nanoparticle additives for machining application
The intensified developments of the vegetable-based metalworking fluids have been growing rapidly due to the
environmental and health issue of the utilization of the mineral based oil. The vegetable oils are a great potential substitution
of the mineral based oil which has been explored in recent years due to their high biodegradability, renewability and low
toxicity in comparable with mineral oil. Non-edible vegetable oil had attracted an attention of the researches in contrast
with edible oil which significantly compete with the human food supply. The main focus of this study was to evaluate a
new formulation of vegetable-based nanofluid from chemically modified jatropha oil (MJO) blended with hexagonal boron
nitride (hBN), graphene and copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles at 0.05 wt.% concentration. The physicochemical testing
was carried out in term of kinematic viscosity, viscosity index and flash point and was compare with commercial synthetic
ester (SE). The analysis of MJO mixed with nanoparticles in the perspective of it tribological has been performed through
a four ball tribo testing to determine the coefficient of friction, mean wear scar diameter, friction torque, surface roughness
and volume wear rate. The results showed that the tribological performance the MJO+0.05wt.% CuO exhibit lowest value
in of coefficient of friction and friction torque followed by MJO+0.05wt.% graphene, MJO+0.05wt.% hBN and SE.
Nevertheless, the MJO+0.05wt.% graphene and MJO+0.05wt.% hBN provided the significant improvement by providing
the lowest value of the mean wear scar diameter and surface roughness respectively. It concluded that the modified jatropha
oil enriched with nanoparticles had a great improvement on their tribological performance, hence it’s a highly potential
substitution of the SE for machining process
