The objective of this present theoretical paper is to provide an explanation on social psychology from Islamic perspective. The paper firstly discussed in general an overview of social affection, behaviour and cognition from Islamic point of view. Secondly, contemporary theories in social psychology were evaluated from both scientific and Islamic perspectives. Thirdly, the paper attempts to apply social psychology’s principles and theories to explain issues in applied field of Industrial/ Organizational Psychology. Finally, to embrace the importance of the role of human soul, an integrated model was proposed. The paper had referred to both psychology and Islamic psychology’s secondary sources. From Islamic perspective, whenever possible, explanation from Quran, Sunnah, Fiqh, Aqidah and Akhlaq perspectives were presented

The company once formed in accordance with the provision of the Act acquires a corporate personality. This is provided in section 14, 15 and 16 of the Malaysian companies Act 1965. In fact in all these section the Act expressly provides for the incorporation of an association of two or more person. History has shown that, since it was formulated "in the case of Soloman v Solomon 1 the concept of separate corporate personality has been affirmed by almost everyone. In that case, Solomon had for many years carried on business as a boot manufacturer. His business was solvent when it was converted into a company, i.e. a company limited by shares was formed, the subscribers to the memorandum of which were Solomon and his wife, daughter and four sons (for one share each), and the business was sold to the company at a price of £39,000,. The term of sale were approved by all the shareholders. £9,000 was paid in cash. 20,000 fully paid shares of £1 each were allotted to Solomon so that his wife and children held one share each and he held 20,001 shares. Solomon left the rest of the price on loan to the company and for this sum of £10,000 he was given debentures 6 secured by a charge of --the company's assets. It seems that the director were Solomon and his sons and that Solomon was appointed managing director. The company ran into difficulties and the company wound up. After satisfying the debentures there was not enough to pay the ordinary creditors

The stability of a numerical methods is important consideration that must be considered when solving ODEs, where Since the extrapolation methods are best away to get a high-accuracy solution of ODEs. In this paper we studied the stability and accuracy of the exponential extrapolation method which is in the form of y=Aeαh where A and α are constant to be determined using least square fitting.  We gave example to explain the accuracy of this method and we explained that the stability region of exponential extrapolation method always inside the | 1+ z | ≤ 1

Measurement of PCDD/Fs emissions from a coal–fired power plant in Malaysia and establishment of emission factors

AbstractThis paper presents the PCDD/Fs emissions measured from a coal–fired power plant in Malaysia. The study discusses partitioning of PCDD/Fs in particle and gas phase, effects of coal quality to PCDD/Fs formation, effects of air pollution control device (APCD) configuration to PCDD/Fs formation and establishment of emission factors of PCDD/Fs from the studied coal–fired power plant. The results presented in this study were mostly in good agreement with the previous works on PCDD/Fs emissions conducted in other countries. Laboratory analysis results showed that PCDFs were the dominant congeners. The emissions of PCDD/Fs were low which most probably due to the high combustion efficiency. The PCDFs/PCDDs ratio was more than 1 and PCDD/Fs were detected in fly ash, hence speculating that the formation of PCDD/Fs during coal combustion was mainly through de novo synthesis. Analysis on partitioning of PCDD/Fs showed that the compounds were mainly emitted in gas phase. This study also indicated that type of coal influenced the formation of PCDD/Fs during coal combustion where bituminous coal with high sulfur (S) content resulted in slightly lower PCDD/Fs emissions compared to sub–bituminous coal. It was also found that operation of flue gas desulfurization (FGD) reduced the emission of PCDD/Fs. The established emission factors for PCDD/Fs were in the range of 0.08 to 0.11ng I–TEQ/kg

Hemodynamic prediction in patent ductus arteriosus morphologies

    Get PDF
Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is a condition in which the ductus arteriosus remain opened after birth, causing the blood to shunt through from the aorta to the pulmonary artery. However, due to the complicated nature of the arterial geometry, the flow characteristic inside the PDA is not fully understood, since simplified model are commonly used in researches. This study aims to identify the hemodynamic characteristic in three different patient-specific morphologies. Computational modeling via computational fluid dynamic (CFD) is implemented to predict the blood flow behavior in different PDA morphologies. The result shows that low wall shear stress is observed at the region where the flow recirculation occurs. High wall shear stress is observed in the pulmonary artery due to increase of flow velocity at the insertion point of PDA. The PDA morphologies exhibit left-to-right shunt, which diverts approximately 10% of blood flow from the aorta to the pulmonary artery. The highest shunted blood flow is found in TR LPA morphology. High value of OSI indicates the changes of wall shear stress vector. It is observed that DS LPA has the highest area covered by OSI which presents better hemodynamic characteristic as compared to other morphology

Computing eigenvalues of periodic Sturm-Liouville problems using shooting technique and direct integration method

    Get PDF
This paper deals with computing eigenvalues of periodic Sturm-Liouville (SL) problem by direct integration (DI) method using shooting technique without reducing to the system of first order ODEs. Floquet theory is applied to find a non-trivial solution of SL problems and the eigenvalues are approximated by the application of shooting techniques. Computational advantages are presented comparing the results obtained by the DI method with that of reducing to the system of first order ODEs

Developing a Design Model for Seven Charm (Sapta Pesona ) Tourism Awareness in the Local Community of Lake Toba

    Get PDF
Lake Toba is one of the government's five proposed super tourism locations. Strengthening the tourist sector is a key component of a region's national development strategy. The tourist sector was chosen to be strengthened because it has the potential to boost the Indonesian economy. As for the real battle in managing Lake Toba tourism in terms of human resources, citizens' understanding of tourism is still limited, the model of service to tourists is still lacking, tourist attractions that have not been maintained on a consistent basis tend to emphasize nature and neglect cultural attractions, and insufficient infrastructure such as road access. The goal of this research is to determine the local community of Toba Regency's willingness to participate in the development of Lake Toba tourism and the ability of the local community's great service abilities to attract tourists. This study takes a qualitative-exploratory strategy, stressing characteristics of enrichment in the field as a research force through data gathering approaches such as surveys, literature reviews, finding specific cases and selecting goals, data collection, data analysis, and conclusion. The technique for developing an ideal tourist plan is based on Jacqueline M. Stavros' SOAR model, a combination of SWOT analysis and Appreciative Inquiry (AI). This approach entails all stakeholder groups in order to collect data on the strengths, opportunities, goals, and outcomes of the Lake Toba tourism planning model in the Toba district

Application of homotopy perturbation method for fractional partial differential equations

    Get PDF
Fractional partial differential equations arise from many fields of physics and apply a very important role in various branches of science and engineering. Finding accurate and efficient methods for solving partial differential equations of fractional order has become an active research undertaking. In the present paper, the homotopy perturbation method proposed by J-H He has been used to obtain the solution of some fractional partial differential equations with variable coefficients. Exact and/or approximate analytical solutions of these equations are obtained
