    Generalized trend constants of Lipschitz mappings

    In 2015, Goebel and Bolibok defined the initial trend coefficient of a mapping and the class of initially nonexpansive mappings. They proved that the fixed point property for nonexpansive mappings implies the fixed point property for initially nonexpansive mappings. We generalize the above concepts and prove an analogous fixed point theorem. We also study the initial trend coefficient more deeply

    Supporting child and youth development, especially the wards of socio-therapeutic and reclamation centres, is one of the aims of educational process. As can be seen from previous experiences, classes based on education through sport and its values as well as moral models connected with it play an immense role. I hope most sincerely that the lesson plans, games and plays as well as educational classes included here will become a complementation of the previous volume where the issue of social maladjustment of the young people was presented from theoretical perspective.Published within the project “Therapy through development.     Palaeoenvironmental reconstruction of Bathonian (Middle Jurassic) ore-bearing clays at Gnaszyn

    Multidisciplinary studies of the Middle–Upper Bathonian ore-bearing clays at Gnaszyn revealed variable palaeoenvi- ronmental conditions during the deposition of this seemingly monotonous sequence. We interpret the conditions in the bottom environment and the photic zone, and also evaluate the influence of the adjacent land areas, based on sedi- mentology, geochemistry, sporomorphs and palynofacies composition, benthic (foraminifera, gastropods, bivalves, scaphopods, echinoderms), planktonic (calcareous nannoplankton, dinoflagellate cysts), and nektonic (sharks) fossils. The Gnaszyn succession originated relatively close to the shore, within reach of an intense supply of terrestrial fine clas- tic and organic particles. The latter are mainly of terrestrial origin and range from 1.5 to 2.5 wt.%. The precise water depth is difficult to estimate but most likely ranges from several tens of metres to a few hundred metres. All fossil groups show minor changes throughout the succession. As the climate seems to have been quite stable during this period we consider sea-level fluctuations to have been the main factor responsible for the changes. The terrestrial input, includ- ing freshwater and land-derived clastic and organic particles (sporomorphs and cuticles), increased during periods of sea-level lowstand. As a consequence, stress conditions (lower salinity, higher nutrient availability, lower water trans- parency) in the photic zone caused blooms of opportunistic planktonic taxa. Furthermore, a faster sedimentation rate led to oxygen depletion and deterioration of the living conditions in the bottom environment due to an increased accumulation of organic matter. As a result, the benthic biota became taxonomically impoverished and commonly dominated by juvenile forms. During periods of high sea level, the source areas were shifted away from the basin, resulting in a decrease in the terrestrial influx, increase in the salinity of surface waters, the appearance of more diverse phytoplank- ton assemblages, a lower sedimentation rate, and an improvement of living conditions at the bottom

    Structural versatility of the quasi-aromatic Möbius type zinc(II)-pseudohalide complexes : experimental and theoretical investigations

    In this contribution we report for the first time fabrication, isolation, structural and theoretical characterization of the quasi-aromatic Mobius complexes [Zn(NCS)(2)L-I] (1), [Zn-2(mu(1,1)-N-3)(2)(L-I)(2)][ZnCl3(MeOH)](2)center dot 6MeOH (2) and [Zn(NCS)L-II](2)[Zn(NCS)(4)]center dot MeOH (3), constructed from 1,2-diphenyl-1,2-bis((phenyl(pyridin-2-yl)methylene)hydrazono)ethane (L-I) or benzilbis(acetylpyridin-2-yl)methylidenehydrazone (L-II), respectively, and ZnCl2 mixed with NH4NCS or NaN3. Structures 1-3 are dictated by both the bulkiness of the organic ligand and the nature of the inorganic counter ion. As evidenced from single crystal X-ray diffraction data species 1 has a neutral discrete heteroleptic mononuclear structure, whereas, complexes 2 and 3 exhibit a salt-like structure. Each structure contains a Zn-II atom chelated by one tetradentate twisted ligand L-I creating the unusual Mobius type topology. Theoretical investigations based on the EDDB method allowed us to determine that it constitutes the quasi-aromatic Mobius motif where a metal only induces the pi-delocalization solely within the ligand part: 2.44|e| in 3, 3.14|e| in 2 and 3.44|e| in 1. It is found, that the degree of quasi-aromatic pi-delocalization in the case of zinc species is significantly weaker (by similar to 50%) than the corresponding estimations for cadmium systems - it is associated with the Zn-N bonds being more polar than the related Cd-N connections. The ETS-NOCV showed, that the monomers in 1 are bonded primarily through London dispersion forces, whereas long-range electrostatic stabilization is crucial in 2 and 3. A number of non-covalent interactions are additionally identified in the lattices of 1-3
