    STUDENT’S PERCEPTION ON TUTOR PERFORMANCE: A THREE SEMESTER STUDY

    Artikel ini menyajikan hasil studi selama tiga semester mengenai kepuasan mahasiswa dengan instruksi daring di Universitas Terbuka, Indonesia. Makalah ini membahas bagaimana kinerja tutor mempengaruhi persepsi mahasiswa dalam belajar secara daring. Penelitian ini mempelajari lebih jauh dari penelitian sebelumnya tentang kepuasan mahasiswa dengan e-learning. Peneliti melakukan serangkaian survei selama tiga semester. Empat puluh satu siswa berpartisipasi dalam studi ini. Secara keseluruhan, siswa menilai instruktur online sebagai cukup memuaskan. Tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa agribisnis dengan tutor online di UT terutama puas (63%). Lebih dari sembilan belas persen memiliki tingkat yang sangat puas. Berdasarkan analisis komponen utama, penelitian ini mengungkapkan enam struktur dari tingkat kepuasan dengan tutor online; (1) perantara diskusi (62,20%), (2) strategi tutorial (79,18%), (3) umpan balik pada pendapat siswa (84,69%), (4) tetap pada jadwal (89,12%), (5) membuat ringkasan (92,24%), dan (6) menyediakan bahan pembelajaran yang menarik (94,64%). This article presents the results of a three-semester study of undergraduate students’ level of satisfaction with online instruction at Universitas Terbuka, Indonesia. The paper discusses how tutor performance affect student’s perception of online learning.The study expands on earlier research into student satisfaction with e-learning. Researcher conducted a series of surveys over three academic semester. Forty-one students participated in the study. Responses were consistent throughout, although there were some differences noted in the level of student satisfaction with their experience. Overall, students rated their online instructor as moderately satisfactory.The satisfaction level of agribusiness students with online tutor at UTwas mainly satisfied (63%). More than nineteen percent had a very satisfied level.Based on principal component analysis, this study revealed six structures of satisfaction level with online tutor; (1) moderating discussion (62,20%), (2) tutorial strategy (79,18%), (3) feedback on student's opinion (84,69%), (4) keep on schedule (89,12%), (5) making summary (92,24%), and (6) providing attractive learning material (94,64%)

    Indonesia has increasing demand for animal sources of food including red meat. There has always been a national gap between supply and demand of red meat. This paper aims to describe the current features and prospects for livestock production systems in Indonesia. The research method used is descriptive statistics. Based on the source, the data used in this study is secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The first part of the article reviews and analyses population of Indonesian livestock. The second part addresses issues related to the current distribution of livestock that could become important for future development of the livestock industry in Indonesia. Recommendations to improve distribution, to empower smallholder farmers, and to develop systems for livestock development are briefly discussed

    Office 365 For The Improvement Of Learning Quality In Online Tutorial And Online Practicum

    One of the main means to enhance student’s learning quality is by adopting a new technology in their learning activities. Nowadays, many universities in the world had applied this method because of benefits that it offers. Universitas Terbuka (UT) is one of distance learning institution in Indonesia that had applied this method for its students. Therefore, this research intends to investigate students and tutors’ perceptions in utilizing the features and facilities of Office 365 in online tutorial and online practicum. Furthermore, students and tutors’ perceptions that was analyzed include the use of standard applications contained in Moodle and their expectations in utilizing Office 365 features and facilities for online tutorials and online practicum. This study employs online survey that consists of 11 items. Students’ perception regarding the Office 365 features is influenced by age, gender, education, online tutorial training and online tutorial activities. The students’ responses of Office 365 facilities are affected by age, gender, education, employment, training and online tutorial activities. Office 365’s features and facilities are most likely to influence the effectiveness of the distance learning process since students have the opportunity to interact with their teachers, peers and learning materials. Moreover, Office 365 enable student to access the material through this facility. The other benefit is the existence of forum that could be used as a means of discussions between students and lecturers. Hence, we recommend that all online activities should be designed to achieve the optimization of distance learning such as strengthening the online tutorial and online practicum, improving the ICT competence of academic staff and their involvement in online tutorial and online practicum, improving services to all UT’s stakeholders and developing an upgrade of standard application training of Moodle and Office 365

    Development of Microcontroller-Based Ball and Beam Trainer Kit

    A ball and beam trainer kit based on microcontroller was developed for teaching control system course for the sophomore students. This specially-purposed kit consists of a ball located on a beam with a fixed axle at one of its end. At the other end, a servomotor was employed to control the position of the ball by adjusting the rotation angle of the servomotor. Seven predetermined positions were set to 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 cm relative to the fixed axle of the beam. The Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) scheme was then used to compensate the error. This kit is equipped with a user interface to configure controller coefficients, select the set points, plot the actual ball position, and display parameter values. The user interface program runs on PC or notebook connected to microcontroller via serial communications. A questionnaire-based assessment about the use of this kit was conducted by 17 students taking the course, giving a rating value of 94.12%

    During Covid-19 pandemic, online learning has been implemented as a strategic solution by many universities to prevent the spread of the Covid-19. This new teaching learning practice has encouraged researchers to conduct a survey of student readiness and satisfaction with the online learning services. This study aims to uncover two strategic issues including factors that influence student readiness and satisfaction and the level of student readiness and satisfaction dealing with online learning services. This research employs quantitative research methods using online surveys and involving all students who were actively registered in 2019 and 2020 both UT and non-UT students who participated in online learning services. Samples, however, were taken from all respondents covering western, central, and eastern Indonesia. It was discovered that structurally, supporting aspects contribute around 37%, prospect aspects 25%, benefit aspects 23%, and constraint aspects 11%, towards a dimension of the formation of participants' online learning perceptions. The findings show that participants have quite different views on supporting aspects, benefits, or prospects of online learning from the aspects of constraints. The relationship among the three distribution groups of variable categories shows three quite different positions in terms of participants' perceptions on online learning, namely accepting, moderate or opposing positions. Their opinion on online learning programs, during the Covid-19 outbreak, participants differed in their opposing positions on the one hand and moderate positions on the other, especially regarding costs, trends, and prices of devices/supporting equipment for online learning participants

    Sistem Pemanen Energi Dengan Tranduser Piezoelektrik Untuk Perangkat Daya Rendah

    Sistem pemanen energi dengan sumber vibrasi yang diuji secara empiris terdiri dari tranduser piezoelektrik, diode penyearah dan penyimpan energi dengan super kapasitor. Studi empiris ini menghasilkan bahwa sistem penyearah yang tepat untuk mengambil energi skala ratusan miliVolt adalah diode schottky. Diode schottky mempunyai efisiensi 85% untuk sumber masukan di atas 1V. Waktu pengisian superkapasitor dengan sumber arus AC tidak terpengaruh frekuensi, tetapi dari besar amplitudonya. Efisiensi tranduser piezoelektrik paling tinggi pada frekuensi 10kHz dan 133kHz yakni 3,6% dan 22%. Resistansi keluaran tranduser menurun seiring dengan meningkatnya frekuensi. Pada pengujian perangkat mikrokontroler, sensor suhu dan RF transceiver dengan frekuensi pengiriman data 1, 5 dan 10 Hz diperoleh data bahwa pada frekuensi 1 Hz membutuhkan energi paling kecil

    Abstrak: E-learning merupakan singkatan dari electronic learning, merupakan cara baru dalam proses belajar mengajar yang menggunakan media elektronik khususnya internet sebagai sistem pembelajarannya Universitas Terbuka (UT) memiliki aplikasi e-learning yang di beri nama Tuton (tutorial online) Sistem pembelajaran jarak jauh yang di gunakan UT sekarang sangat membantu dosen dan mahasiswa dalam proses belajar dengan memanfaatkan teknologi yang sudah maju seperti sekarang ini. Pada studi ini, kami mencoba menganalisis persepsi mahasiswa dan tutor dalam pemanfaatan fitur dan fasilitas Office 365 dalam tuton dan praktek online. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa Tanggapan terhadap perlu tidaknya fitur dipengaruhi oleh usia, gender, pendidikan, pelatihan tuton, dan aktivitas tuton. Kecuali pada fasilitas konferensi online dan berbagi cerita digital, tanggapan terhadap perlu tidaknya fasilitas dipengaruhi usia, gender, pendidikan, pekerjaan, pelatihan dan atau aktivitas tuton. Oleh karena itu, rekomendasi yang kami ajukan adalah diperlukan adanya kegiatan yang dirancang untuk mencapai optimalisasi pembelajaran jarak jauh antara lain penguatan lingkungan tuton dan prakton, perlunya peningkatan kompetensi TIK staf akademik dan keterlibatannya dalam tuton/prakton, perlunya peningkatan kapasitas pelayanan prima kepada semua pemangku kepentingan UT dan pengembangan dan peningkatan pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi standar dalam Moodle dan Office365 agar bisa saling melengkapi.Abstract: One of the main means to enhance student’s learning activities is by implementing technology in their learning activities.     REKAYASA STETOSKOP ELEKTRONIK DENGAN KEMAMPUAN ANALISIS BUNYI JANTUNG

    Stetoskop akustik lazim dipakai untuk mendeteksi bunyi jantung dan paru-paru agar kondisi kesehatan organ penting tersebut diketahui. Namun karena intensitas bunyi yang dideteksi relatif lemah, dan adanya gangguan suara lingkungan, penggunaan stetoskop ini menjadi sulit, khususnya untuk mendeteksi adanya kelainan bunyi jantung seperti misalnya murmur. Maka pada makalah ini dirancang suatu stetoskop elektronik dengan memodifikasi sebuah stetoskop akustik, sehingga dapat memperjelas bunyi jantung danparu-paru, serta merekamnya. Stetoskop elektronik dibuat dengan menempatkan sebuah mikropon kondenser di dalam pipa berongga stetoskop akustik untuk mengkonversi bunyi yang ditangkap oleh chestpiece menjadi sinyal listrik. Selanjutnya sinyal tersebut akan diperkuat, lalu dilewatkan pada filter jantung atau filter paru-paru untuk memperjelas bunyi yang lebih ingin didengar di headphone. Dilakukan pula segmentasi dengan terlebih dulu mengubah sinyal jantung, S1 dan S2, menjadi pulsa-pulsa digital, sehingga durasi waktu fase sistolik dan diastolik dapat diukur oleh mikrokontroler. Mikrokontroler juga menghitung nilai BPM (Beat Per Minute) berdasarkan hasil segmentasi, dan menyimpulkan apakah nilaiBPM tersebut normal atau tidak. Hasil yang dicapai adalah stetoskop elektronik mandiri (stand alone) yang mampu memperdengarkan dan memperjelas bunyi jantung dan paru-paru. Pada saat pengukuran, chestpiece ditempelkan pada dada atau leher subyek, dan dipertahankan tidak berubah posisi sekitar 15 detik. Stetoskop elektronik ini juga dapat menampilkan nilai BPM dan menunjukkan apakah nilainyanormal, atau mengindikasikan kelainan bradycardia atau tachycardia. Jika dibandingkan dengan alat ukur buatan pabrik, yaitu OMRON tipe SEM-1, maka pengukuran BPM dapat dilakukan dua kali lebih cepat dengan ketelitian yang setara. Sinyal listrik yang menunjukkan bentuk bunyi jantung dan paru juga dapat dilihat di layar komputer dengan mempergunakan perangkat lunak Oscilloscope serta dapat direkam dalam bentuk berkas wav.Kata kunci: Stetoskop, Elektronik, Segmentasi, BP

    TINGKAT PENGGUNAAN BAHAN KIMIA BERBAHAYA PADA PENGOLAHAN IKAN ASIN: KASUS DI MUARA ANGKE DAN CILINCING, JAKARTA

    Salted sh is still prefered by community of Indonesia. Salted sh processing by traditional method depent on the intensity of sunlight. To reduce depence, some processors used chemicals as a preservative. The purpose of the study is identi ed the level of use of hazardous chemicals in salted the processing of salted sh. The research’s design was explanatory research design. The population were all of the salted sh processors in Muara Angke andCilincing, North Jakarta. Respondent choosen randomly to get 73 salted sh processors, 55 persons of them were located at Muara Angke and another 18 were from Cilincing. Data collected consist of primary data, used survey methods. Then data was analysed with descriptif-analysis and Rank Spearman correlation. The results indicated that the hazardous chemicals (formalin and bleach) were still used by the processor. Level of usage hazardous chemicals is signi cantly associated with perception processors of consumer knowledge. Education of consumers about the hazardous chemicals needs to be improved so that consumers did not want to buy salted sh products with chemicals, thereby to suppress the use of chemicals in the processing of salted sh. Government oversight of the use of hazardous chemicals was still relatively low, so that should be improved to encourage processors to be willing to process naturally salted sh and leave the chemicals.Keywords: chemicals, government oversight, salted sh, salted sh processo
