    THE NON-NATIVE ENGLISH TEACHER’S CODE SWITCHING AT SMKN 1 JOMBANG(Umi Kulsum’s Sociolinguistic Profile in Teaching English)

    Code switching is inevitable in a teaching learning activity. This research discusses non-native English teacher’s code switching in SMK Negeri 1 Jombang. Holmes’ theory (2001) is used to find out the types, and reason for code switching. This research belongs to qualitative research. The data are teacher’s utterances when she conducted code switching in teaching learning activity. I used non-participant observation, and non-structured interview in gathering the data. In analyzing the data, I used referential (identity) method. Informal technique was used to describe the data. The result shows that the teacher did inter-sentential switching, intra-sentential switching, tag switching, and situational switching. Some factors forced the teacher to switch her code. The factors are students’ proficiency, teacher’s attitude, the difference between Indonesian and English, and the objective of learning. Moreover, the functions of code switching are to make humor, to show feeling, to show solidarity, to translate some words, to give advice, to give explanation, to manage the class, and to emphasize some points. In summary, code switching plays a positive role in teaching learning process by the non-native English teacher

    Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui (1) Sejauh mana kemampuan siswa pada Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri di kota Cilacap dilihat dari nilai hasil evaluasi pembelajaran ekonomi, (2) Pengaruh sikap siswa pada pelajaran ekonomi terhadap kemampuan siswa memahami konsep-konsep ekonomi pada Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri di kota Cilacap, (3) pengaruh intensitas belajar siswa terhadap kemampuan siswa memahami konsep-konsep ekonomi pada Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri di kota Cilacap, (4) pengaruh sikap siswa pada pelajarn ekonomi dan intensitas belajar siswa secara bersama-sama terhadap kemampuan siswa memahami konsep-konsep ekonomi pada Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri di kota Cilacap. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI jurusan IPS pada Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri di kota Cilacap yang berjumlah 425 siswa. pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive purpotional random sampling sebanyak 110 siswa. teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode tes, angket, dan dokumentasi. Sebelum data dianalisis, dilakukan pengujian persyaratan analisis berupa uji normalitas, uji linearitas, uji multikolinearitas, dan uji homosedastisitas. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik analisis regresi ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa (1) kemampuan siswa memahami konsep-konsep ekonomi berada dalam kategori sedang. (2) ada pengaruh yang signifikan sikap siswa pada pelajaran ekonomi. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan t hitung 4,399 dan t tabel 1,658 pada taraf signifikansi 5%. (3) ada pengaruh yang signifikan intensitas belajar siswa terhadap kemampuan siswa memahami konsep-konsep ekonomi. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan t hitung 4,028 dan t table 1,658 pada taraf signifikansi 5%. (4) ada pengaruh yang signifikan sikap siswa pada pelajaran ekonomi dan intensitas belajar siswa secara bersama-sama terhadap kemampuan siswa memahami konsep-konsep ekonomi dimana F hitung lebih besar dari F tabel yaitu sebesar 31,043> 1,35. Koefisien determinasi (R2) sebesar 0,367 yang berarti bahwa 36,7% sumbangan terhadap kemampuan siswa memahami konsep-konsep ekonomi diperoleh dari sikap siswa pada pelajaran ekonomi dan intensitas belajar siswa. variable sikap siswa pada pelajaran ekonomi memberikan sumbangan efektif sebesar 19% dan variabel intensitas belajar siswa memberikan sumbangan efektif sebesar 17,7%

    This research paper is intended to describe the method used by the English teacher of SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta at the second year in teaching reading. The objectives of the study are to describe the approach used by the English teacher in teaching reading, to describe the design of method used by the English teacher in teaching reading and to describe the procedure of teaching learning process. The type of this research is Qualitative research. In this research, the data are derived from event, informant, and document. There are three methods of colleting data namely: observation, interview, and document analysis. The result of this research show that the teacher used Humanism approach in teaching reading at the second year of SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta. The method used by teacher is Communicative Language Teaching. The use of Communicative Language Teaching can improve the student reading skill, because, this approach makes the students to be active in their class. They can find the problem and solve by themselves, they can work together and have group discussion, so the teaching learning process is not bored and joyful. Based on the research, the writer has come to the conclusion that there are some strengths and weeknesses in teaching reading by used Communicative Language Teaching. The students and the teacher can communicate each other by using the target language. Thus, the material taught can facilitate communication activities, such as interpretation, expression and negotiation, and the students in SMK Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta will have communicative competence.     The research to increase student activity in the learning of mathematics for students of Islamic junior class Ngesrep VIIB 2014/2015 school year through the Student Team Achievement Division strategy. This research is a class act consisting of two cycles, each cycle consisting of three phases namely planning, action and observation, and reflection and evaluation. Data obtained in the form of a percentage increase in the activity at the end of the first cycle and at the end of the second cycle. Technique data analysis was done by using interactive analysis. The results showed an increase in activity of students in the learning of mathematics. Increased activity of students can be seen from the increase in the indicators include: 1) the willingness of students to ask before action after action 5.55% and 55.55%, 2) the willingness of students in answering questions before the actions 11.11% and after 72 action, 22%, 3) the willingness of students do exercises in front of the class before the action after the action of 0% and 66.66%, 4) the willingness of students to express their opinions before the action after the action of 0% and 55.55%.     The purpose of this study to determine the extent of the application of the concept of Islamic tourism in Santen Island and also to find out the response form in the Santen Island. Data collection method used is the technique of in-depth interview, documentation and observation. While the data analysis technique using the interactive model, which consists of three components: data reduction, data presentation, drawing and testing data. The findings in this study include the application of the concept of Islamic tourism in Santen Island is still not optimal. Public response was positive at 65% of the public has a positive perception, 45%, have a positive attitude, 77.5% indicated that participation is positive. In terms of visitors by 74% of the visitors to know about the concept of sharia travel, 67% of visitors consider aspects of clean and unclean before traveled on the beach sharia, 47% of visitors said existing facilities are adequate Santen Island, 60% of visitors considered that the separation of male and women place have not been in accordance with the concept of Islamic tourism.     This study aims to find out and analyze the application of the scramble learning model to student learning outcomes on the subject of the matrix. The sample used in this study was students of class X TKR3 SMK Darussalam, totaling 40 students. Collecting data in this study using observation and test methods. The test instrument was tested for validity using Pearson's correlation, reliability test using Crobach Alpha. In addition, a test of the difficulty level of the questions was also carried out. Data analysis in this study used data analysis of the Paired Sample T-Test. The results of testing the research hypothesis showed that there was a difference in the mean before and after the scramble learning model was applied to the learning outcomes of the subject matter matrix of class X TKR3 SMK Darussalam. The results of the study also show that the level of the mathematics learning outcomes category of students who study using the Scramble Method on the matrix subject matter of class X TKR3 SMK Darussalam Blokagung Tegalsari Banyuwangi is in the high category

    This study aims to determine whether or not there is an influence of pedagogic competence and lecturer's personality competence on the statistical learning discipline of Islamic Banking students and to determine the best model formed in this study. This study took a sample of 36 respondents, with data collection using a questionnaire instrument. Before obtaining objective data, the instrument used was tested for validity using the Pearson correlation formula, reliability with the Cronbach Alpha formula, and data normality with the Kolmogorov Smirnov test. The research data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative statistical techniques, with multiple regression analysis and linearity test. The results of testing the research hypothesis show that there is no influence of pedagogic competence on the discipline of studying statistics, there is an influence of personality competence on the discipline of studying statistics of Islamic Banking students. The discipline of studying statistics is influenced by the pedagogic competence and personality competence of the lecturers by 25.6%, while the remaining 74.4% is influenced by variables outside the study. The best model that is formed is the second model, namely the model of the lecturer's personality competence variable on the statistical learning discipline of Islamic Banking student

    Abstrak : Matematika di sekolah dasar seringkali diajarkan tanpa media. Seperti hasil observasi pembelajaran matematika di kelas IV SDN Klantingsari 01menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran penjumlahan bilangan bulat yang dilakukan masih berpusat pada guru dan siswa kurang memahami konsep bilangan bulat sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Sehubungan dengan permasalahan tersebut, peneliti melakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan media rel kereta bilangan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar penjumlahan bilangan bulat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan aktivitas guru dan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan media rel kereta bilangan dalam pembelajaran penjumlahan bilangan bulat. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan metode deskriptif kuantitatif yang dilakukan dua siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas guru dan hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan selama dua siklus. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa materi penjumlahan bilangan bulat dapat diajarkan dengan menggunakan media rel kereta bilangan karena dapat meningkatkan aktivitas guru dan hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran. Such as the observation of teaching mathematics in fourth grade students of SDN Klantingsari 01 show that the addition of the integers learning is still centered on the teachers and students didn’t understand the concept of integers that gives impact to the decreasing student learning outcomes. In connection with these problems, researchers conducts a study using the numerial railway media to improve learning outcomes in addition of integers. The purpose of this study are to describe the activities of teachers and describe the student’s learning outcomes using numeral railway media in learning addition of integers. This research was a classroom action research (CAR) by quantitative descriptive method, which performs two cycles. Data collection techniques are observation and testing techniques. The results show that the activity of teachers and student learning outcomes has increased significantly during two cycles. It can be concluded that the addition of integers material can be taught using numerial railways media can increase the number of teacher activity and student learning outcomes in learning.
