Semi-Supervised Approach Based Brain Tumor Detection with Noise Removal

    Get PDF
Brain tumor detection and segmentation is the most important challenging and time consuming task in the medical field. In this paper, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) sample image is considered and it is very useful to detect the Tumor growth. It is mainly used by the radiologist for visualization process of an internal structure of the human body without any surgery. Generally, the Tumor is classified into two types such as malignant and benign. There are many variations in tumor tissue characteristics like its shape, size, gray level intensities and its locations. In this paper, we propose a new cooperative scheme that applies a semi-supervised fuzzy clustering algorithm. Specifically, the Otsu (Oral Tracheal Stylet Unit) method is used to remove the Background area from a Magnetic Resonance Image. Finally, Semi-supervised Entropy Regularized Fuzzy Clustering algorithm (SER-FCM) is applied to improve the quality level. The intensity, shape deformation, symmetry and texture features were extracted from each image. The usefulness and significance of this research are fully demonstrated within the extent of real-life application

A MARKOVIAN TWO COMMODITY QUEUEING–INVENTORY SYSTEM WITH COMPLIMENT ITEM AND CLASSICAL RETRIAL FACILITY

This paper explores the two-commodity (TC) inventory system in which commodities are classified as major and complementary items. The system allows a customer who has purchased a free product to conduct Bernoulli trials at will. Under the Bernoulli schedule, any entering customer will quickly enter an orbit of infinite capability during the stock-out time of the major item. The arrival of a retrial customer in the system follows a classical retrial policy. These two products' re-ordering process occurs under the (s,Q)(s, Q) and instantaneous ordering policies for the major and complimentary items, respectively. A comprehensive analysis of the retrial queue, including the system's stability and the steady-state distribution of the retrial queue with the stock levels of two commodities, is carried out. The various system operations are measured under the stability condition. Finally, numerical evidence has shown the benefits of the proposed model under different random situations

An EPQ model for non-instantaneous deteriorating item in which holding cost varies with time

    Get PDF
It is a production problem of non-instantaneous deteriorating item in which production and demand rate are constant. The holding cost varies with time. Completely deteriorated units are discarded. Partially deteriorated items are allowed to carry discount, no shortage is allowed. The optimal cycle time is derived and the result is applied to numerical problems

Purpose\ud \ud The purpose of this paper is to introduce a research study that aims to establish a people capability framework to promote the sustainability agenda in facilities management (FM) practices.\ud \ud Design/methodology/approach\ud \ud Through a literature review, a range of factors relating to people capabilities in the context of sustainability endeavours is identified. A questionnaire survey of industry practitioners and statistical data analysis help prioritise these people capability factors and evaluate the role played by each factor in promoting sustainability in FM practices.\ud \ud Findings\ud \ud Twenty-three people capability factors are identified as significant to the promotion of sustainability measures in FM practices. Dealing with these factors effectively can provide a sound basis for equipping FM professionals with the necessary knowledge, information on training and educational needs and the right mindset to enhance the implementation of sustainability in FM practices.\ud \ud Practical implications\ud \ud The research shows the importance of capabilities and skills in the pursuit of sustainability in professional practice. In addition, it highlights specific areas for improvement in the FM sector.\ud \ud Originality/value\ud \ud The research links the importance of sustainability with the mindset and preparedness of FM practitioners. It emphasises people capabilities, in addition to technological advancement and financial implications, in the promotion of sustainability in the building industry

Fuzzy Inventory Model for Imperfect Items with Price Discount and Penalty Maintenance Cost

    No full text
The present paper considers the fuzzy economic manufacturing model (FEMM) for an inventory model with an imperfect production process that has been studied along with rework. During the pandemic, it is evident that the products accumulated without a sale, which has increased the maintenance cost of the products. This research paper compares a special sale of products with discount and without discount prices both in the fuzzy environment and in the crisp case. New computing methods based on fuzzy logic are being utilized to enhance identification, decision making, and optimization. A triangular fuzzy number is applied in the economic production quantity to emphasize the importance of optimal manufacturing. The EPQ model’s optimal total cost is obtained in the crisp version. It is to be noted that this model is developed in the fuzzy sense by using the deterioration as a triangular fuzzy number. The applications of this model in the fields are constructing customized industrial machinery or heavy-duty construction equipment, specific chemicals, and processed food. By using MATLAB R2021, a numerical example of the optimal solution is provided. Finally, the present research discusses how changing several parameters affects the optimum total cost

Proceedings of International Conference On Global Innovations In Computing Technology (ICGICT'14) A Cluster Based Group Management Using Zone Leader Allocation In Manet

ABSTRACT: In this paper, we proposed an algorithm for Cluster Based Zone Allocation method (CBZA) for energy conservation and packet dropping in Mobile Ad hoc Network. MANET is a self-organized, temporarily dynamic network and their nodes are mobile without using any infrastructure. However, secure communication occurs between group nodes based on cluster method. In multicast routing, group information is shared by a sender to multiple receivers through many paths which are coordinate with each other. In our method, a set of nodes are located into four regions and a Zone Leader (ZL) is allocated to every region in the network. While packet transmission takes place through the Zone Leader and this is the main process in group management. Finally, the performance of each region is calculated
