    Pengaruh Penggunaan Media Internet Terhadap Minat Belajar Siswa Muslim di SMP Kota Pekanbaru

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media internet terhadap minat belajar siswa muslim di kota Pekanbaru. Media internet memiliki peranan penting untuk minat belajar bagi kalangan siswa. Populasi penelitian ini merupakan siswa muslim di kota Pekanbaru. Teknik persampelan penelitian ini menggunakan teknik random sampling yang terdiri 350 sampel. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan dua instrumen yaitu instrument pengaruh media internet dan minat belajar siswa. Uji coba reliabilitas instrument telah dilakukan yaitu pengaruh media internet secara keseluruhan Alpha Cronbach .86, instrument minat belajar siswa dengan nilai alpha cronbach .83. Analisis data menggunakan Software SPSS Version 22.0. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan pada deskriptif pengaruh media internet secara keseluruhan, berada pada tahap tinggi. Namun sama juga dengan deskriptif minat belajar siswa berada pada tahap tinggi. Selain itu, analisis pada inferensi dengan analisis regresi didapati hasil penelitian yang memberi pengaruh signifikan pengaruh media internet terhadap minat belajar dikalangan siswa yaitu 84.6%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan faktor pengaruh media internet sangat memberi pengaruh terhadap minat belajar siswa SMP Kota Pekanbaru. Oleh itu, sekolah perlu membuat program orientasi dan pemahaman untuk memberikan kepada siswa kepahaman dalam  menggunakan media internet dengan hal yang positif

    The general objective of this research is to describe: a) academic achievement of students, b) the interest of students to the teaching profession, c) academic performance of male students, d) academic achievement of female students, e) interest of male students to the teaching profession f) interest of female students to the teaching profession, g) significant differences in academic achievement between male and female students, h) the significant differences in the interest of teaching profession between male and female students and i) the effect of significant differences in the interest of teaching profession to the students' academic achievement. This study uses a quantitative approach (the correlation method) and comparative analysis by making a random sampling technique. It could be concluded that: a) the academic performances of students are at the good category, b) the interests of students to the teaching profession are at very high category, c) academic performances of male students are at the good category, d) academic achievements of female students are at the good category, e) interests of male students to the teaching profession are at very high category, f) interests of female students to the teaching profession are at very high category, g) there are significant differences in academic achievement between male and female students, h) there are significant differences in the interest of the teaching profession between male and female students, and i) there is a clear effect of the interest of teaching profession on student academic achievement

    Level of Resilient Among International Students in Public Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia

    This research aims to know the definite level of resilience among International students in public higher education institutions in Malaysia. Resilient is the ability of an individual able to adapt in faced the trouble, so it can be calm and rise of trouble faced and rediscover the spirit, strength and the reality purpose. The study was carried in the form of survey. This study used a questionnaire is demographic information and brief resilient scale. Cronbach alpha values brief resilience scale this score of 0.80. The sample of international students in public higher education institutions in Malaysia and the sample of the student are 120 students randomly selected as respondents in this study. The data were analysed using t-test, Pearson correlation and One Way ANOVA. The results of this study showed that was not significant difference level of resilient based on gender and program of study. In addition, the factor of marital status shows significant difference between levels of resilient among international student based on marital status. While, there is significant correlation between level of resilient with age. The important of study was conduct to identify the extent level of resilient among international students to get excellent academic result. The study found that the level of resilient among international students in public higher education institution in Malaysia have level of resilient is medium. As result, Master and PhD students are categorized with medium level and Bachelor students are categorized with low level resilient

    Evaluation and psychometric status of the brief resilience scale in a sample of Malaysian international students

    The purpose of this study is to examine the psychometric status of the Brief Resilience Scale (BRS). The BRS is a brief self-rating questionnaire to measure resilience. This instrument consists of six items and was administered on 120 international students studying at a public university in Malaysia. The sample consists of 76 male and 44 female, with a mean age of 24.4 years old. The BRS met the requirement for the implementation of PCA based on the Bartlett test of Sphericity and the Kaiser Mayer Olkin. Factor analysis reveals a single factor with eigenvalues above 1.0, which accounted for 73.54% of the total variance. Reliability analysis using Cronbach’s Alpha was .93, indicating that the scale has good reliability. This study demonstrates that BRS is appropriate to be used by college personnel and counselors to examine and identify resiliency among college students in Malaysia. Suggestions for future study are also discussed
