This bachelor thesis deals with mapping of the available information sources usable for the decision-making in the crisis management. The work focuses on selection of social networks, news sites, the most used applications and websites with online videos and photographs. It explorer these resources more in the depth and establishes the procedure how to find the necessary information. It presents its pros and cons by each of the informational resource. Last part of the thesis evaluates which of the free informational sources are the best ones, less suitable ones and which are totally inappropriate for the work in the field of the crisis management050 - Katedra ochrany obyvatelstvadobř

Hydration and barrier potential of cosmetic matrices with bee products

    Get PDF
Honey, honey extracts, and bee products belong to traditionally used bioactive molecules in many areas. The aim of the study was primarily to evaluate the effect of cosmetic matrices containing honey and bee products on the skin. The study is complemented by a questionnaire survey on the knowledge and awareness of the effects and potential uses of bee products. The effect of bee molecules at various concentrations was observed by applying 12 formulations to the skin of the volar side of the forearm by non-invasive bioengineering methods on a set of 24 volunteers for 48 h. Very good moisturizing properties have been found in matrices with the glycerin extract of honey. Matrices containing forest honey had better moisturizing effects than those containing flower honey. Barrier properties were enhanced by gradual absorption, especially in formulations with both glycerin and aqueous honey extract. The observed organoleptic properties of the matrices assessed by sensory analysis through 12 evaluators did not show statistically significant differences except for color and spreadability. There are differences in the ability to hydrate the skin, reduce the loss of epidermal water, and affect the pH of the skin surface, including the organoleptic properties between honey and bee product matrices according to their type and concentration.Internal strategic project of Tomas Bata University in Zli

Blow Hole Cave: An Unroofed Cave on San Salvador Island, the Bahamas, and its Importance for Detection of Paleokarst Caves on Fossil Carbonate Platforms

The comparative study of a Quaternary carbonate platform (San Salvador Island, the Bahamas) and a Devonian Carbonate Platform (Krásná Elevation, Moravia) indicates a great similarity in karst evolution. Caves on both sites are interpreted as flank margin caves associated with a freshwater lens and halocline stabilised during sea-level highstands. The sedimentary fill of both caves is genetically comparable - beach and aeolian sediments with bodies of breccias

The speleo-aerosol, a potential therapeutic factor in speleotherapy, was studied in the Císařská cave. The ultrafiltration was used for the particle separation. The matter found on the ultrafilters consisted of ultra-fine matter (UFM) and rougher particles (RP) about 1 micrometer in diameter. Ca and Si were found as major and minor element in the UFM, respectively. The rest of UFM probably consisted of organic matter. In the RP, Ca and Si were found as major and K, Na, Al, Na, and Fe as minor elements. The stoichiometric ratios of the elements related to CaCO3, SiO2, feldspar, and clay minerals. Based on the structural X-ray analysis, however, just calcite and quartz were proved

The dynamics of dripping waters was studied in the Císařská cave. The dependency of the dripping water fluxes on precipitation is discussed in terms of the simple two-reservoir model. The parameters of the model: kinetics constants were k0 = 12 liter day-1 mm-1, k1 = 2 day-1, k2 = 0,03 day-1. The initial contents of soil reservoir and ground water reservoir were n0 = 15 liters and m0 = 130 liters, respectively. The residence time of water in the soil reservoir and the ground water reservoir were found to be 0.5 day and 33.3 day. A tight correlation between the fluxes of dripping waters and saturation index was not found
