Students’ Perception towards Written Feedback of Thesis Writing Advisory at STKIP Sidoarjo
This research is aimed to find out the most used type of written feedback and the students’ perceptions towards lecturers’ written feedback on thesis writing advisory at STKIP PGRI Sidoarjo. This study employed descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study were the 7th semester students at STKIP PGRI Sidoarjo who were working the thesis writing. The source of data was the students’ writings consisting lecturers’ written feedback (indirect and direct written feedback). The instruments applied were documentation, questionnaire, and interview. The researcher distributed the questionnaires to 20 students and conducted the interview to 5 students to clarify and strengthen the data by seeing the most degree of agreement chosen. The result showed that the most type of written feedback was indirect written feedback consisting 337 items (65.44%). Meanwhile, the direct written feedback was 178 items (34.56%). The students had positive perceptions towards the lecturer’s written feedback. They preferred to get written feedback as it had been clear, useful and helpful for the students. It also could be a motivation and a guidance in the thesis writing. The researcher addresses suggestions to: lecturers to keep using written feedback by giving clear explanations and information; students to evaluate their thesis writing; other researchers to advance the implementation of written feedback; and the institution to considerate providing a new regulation deals with the efficiency of thesis writing advisor
Pengembangan NiceRoom Sebagai Online Integrated Development Environment Tools untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa pada Pembelajaran Python Programming di SMKN 1 Cerme
NiceRoom merupakan Online Integrated Development Environment Tools berbasis website dan aplikasi mobile. Tujuan dari Pengembangan NiceRoom adalah sebagai penunjang belajar siswa pada pembelajaran Python Programming. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Extreme Programming dengan empat fase diantaranya Planning, Design, Coding dan Testing. Hasil validasi media oleh ahli memperoleh persentase 84,3% dengan kategori sangat valid untuk digunakan pada proses pembelajaran. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan metode End User Computing Satisfaction(EUCS) menggunakan lima variabel diantaranya Content, Accuracy, Format, Ease of Use, Timeliness. Data didapatkan dari 35 siswa yang telah menggunakan NiceRoom mendapatkan hasil akhir evaluasi dengan persentase sebesar 88,05% yang dapat dikategorikan sangat tinggi. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama dua siklus. Hasil rata rata nilai siswa pada pembelajaran python programming di SMKN 1 Cerme mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I sebesar sebesar 85,85 menjadi 92,13 pada siklus II
An Analysis of Conjunctions Found in Barack Obama’s Farewell Speech Text
In communication people use conjunctions in their speech, so did Barack Obama in his farewell speech. His speech consists of many various conjunctions that will be interesting to study to understand the connection between the sentences delivered by Him. The purpose of this study is to find out types of conjunction especially external conjunction, internal conjunction, and continuatives in Barack Obama’s farewell speech text based on semantics naming. It used the descriptive qualitative method. The instruments were researchers themselves, table, Barack Obama’s speech text. The data collection were taken from were taken from the internet, it was the President of the United State of America (period: 2009-2017) Barack Obama's speech text of his farewell in Chicago. To analyze all data, this study used the theory of conjunction by Martin and Rose (2007). The data were identified types of conjunction, then were classified, were displayed, and were described. The finding out of words that were analyzed conjunctions and continuatives were 18 (eighteen) types of external conjunctions, 8 (eight) types of internal conjunctions and 3 (three) continuatives
STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION TOWARDS GOOGLE CLASSROOM AS E-LEARNING TOOL (A Case Study of Master of English Education of the Second Semester at STKIP PGRI Sidoarjo)
E-Learning is a moderately new phenomenon where currently the educators and students are grappling with the idea of its implementation and adaptation. E-learning has contributed to the learning process can be done not only in the classroom but any places and every time, especially within the COVID-19 issue. Google Classroom is one of the tools implemented among e-learning scan be applied. The purpose of this research is to identify the students’ perception of the implementation Google Classroom as a learning tool for students of Master of English Education at STKIP PGRI Sidoarjo. Descriptive quantitative method was applied in conducting the research. Questionnaire which was distributed to the 19 students was the instrument of this research. The results showed google classroom as a tool of e-learning is a useful application can be applied during e-learning within the issue of Covid-19 to the second semester students of Master of English Education (MPBI Batch 5) at STKIP PGRI Sidoarjo in regard it is a solution of e-learning in case it is useful, effective and also helps students in assisting in the e-learning
KESIAPAN BELAJAR DAN MINAT BERTANYA SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI DI SMA
ABSTRAK  Keberhasilan proses pembelajaran dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor diantaranya kesiapan siswa yang memadai, dan partisipasi dalam pembelajaran sesuai paradigma Student Centered Learning dalam Kurikulum 2013. Tingkat partisipasi siswa dapat dilihat dari aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran diantaranya melalui minat bertanya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan tentang kesiapan belajar dan minat bertanya siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi di SMA Negeri 1 Panarukan. Data didapat dari isian angket  yang disebar kepada  331 siswa kelompok peminatan MIA dan dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dengan bantuan program aplikasi MS Excel .Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa 16,6% dari populasi siswa memiliki kesiapan belajar dan 12, 4 %  siswa memiliki minat bertanya  siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi di SMA Negeri 1 Panarukan.  Kata Kunci :Kesiapan Belajar , Minat Bertanya ,Pembelajaran BiologiABSTRAK Keberhasilan proses pembelajaran dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor diantaranyakesiapan siswa yang memadai, dan partisipasi dalam pembelajaran sesuai paradigmaStudent Centered Learning dalam Kurikulum 2013. PENGARUH PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN GIVING QUESTIONS AND GETTING ANSWER TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR SISWA KELAS X SMA N BANYUDONO TAHUN AJARAN 2011/2012
This research is aimed to know effect of implementation strategy Giving
Questions and Getting Answer (GQGA) towards biology learning achievement. This research
held upon senior high school student of SMA N Banyudono in academic year 2011/2012.
Giving Questions and Getting Answer (GQGA) was expected to be more effective rather than
if use convensional method. All student of SMA N Banyudono had been chosen as a research
population.Since, not all student was not attending biological class, hence, randomly, 2
clusters were selected representing the control class (for where the experimental
treatment was not carried out) and the experimental class for where the Giving Questions and
Getting Answer (GQGA). Quasy-experimental method was designed to achieve the stated
research objectives following the quantitative paradigm used in this research. In addition,
Randomized Subjects Posstest Only Control Group Design was used as a research design to
facilitate the data collection procedures. The data were collected using several
techniques namely, questionnaire, posttest with multiple choice, observation tools and
related document. The final obtained data were then analyzed using t- test method. The
results of this research showed that the implementation of the strategy has significantly
affected the biology learning achievement. It has been proven to have an impact towards
cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects
PENGARUH STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN CARD SORT DISERTAI MIND MAPPING HASIL BELAJAR BIOLOGI SISWA SMA BANYUDONO TAHUN PELAJARAN 2011/2012
Aims of this research are to know the influence of Card Sort With Mind
Mapping learning strategies toward student’s achievement in studying biology of SMA N
Banyudono Boyolali. This research was quasi experiment research using quantitative
approach. The research was designed using posttest only randomized control group by using
the experimental classes (application of Card Sort with Mind Mapping strategy) and control
classes (conventional learning). Population studies are all students of SMA N Banyudono
Boyolali in academic year 2011/2012. Sampling techniques with cluster random sampling,
so chosen XI IPA 1 as the experiment class and XI IPA 2 as the control class. Data was
collected using questionnaire, essay test, observation sheet, and document. The data were
analyzed by t-test. The conclusion of this research were science process skills was
significantly affected by Card Sort with Mind Mapping and the application of Card Sort
with Mind Mapping has taken effect on student’s cognitive and psychomotor, affective
achievement in studying biology of SMA N Banyudono Boyolali
Pengaruh Jenis Pupuk Organik Padat terhadap Pertumbuhan, Hasil dan Serapan N Tanaman Cabai, Tomat dan Caisin pada Inceptisols Sumbang
Beragam bahan pembuat pupuk organik memiliki karakteristik fisik, kimia dan biologi yang berbeda-beda, demikan juga dengan kandungan unsur haranya. Hasil penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan belum adanya spesifikasi jenis pupuk organik terhadap macam tanaman sayuran. Penelitian dilakukan di lahan Inceptisols Sumbang selama bulan Juni hingga Oktober 2019 dan bertujuan untuk mengetahui 1) tingkat efisiensi dan serapan N berbagai jenis pupuk organik padat pada tanaman cabai, tomat dan caisin dan 2) pengaruh jenis pupuk organik padat terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai, tomat dan caisin. Penelitian disusun dalam rancangan petak terbagi dengan 5 jenis pupuk organik padat dan 3 jenis tanaman sayur. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pupuk organik kompos lengkap paling baik bagi produksi tanaman caisin dan pupuk kotoran ayam paling baik untuk produksi tanaman tomat dan cabai
PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN PENGAJARAN TERBALIK (RECIPROCAL TEACHING) UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMANDIRIAN BELAJAR BIOLOGI SISWA KELAS VII-G SMP N 5 KARANGANYAR TAHUN PELAJARAN 2010/ 2011
The objective of this study is to improve student independence in learning biology by implementing Inverted Teaching Approach (Reciprocal Teaching) on Environmental Management material. This research is a classroom action research. This research was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation of the action,observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were VII-G class students of SMP Negeri 5 Karanganyar in the academic year of 2010/2011. The number of the students was 32. The technique and instrumen of collectiing data were questionnaire, observation, and interviews. The technique of analyzing data was descriptive analysis techniques. Triangulation technique was used in data validation. The results proved that by implementing Inverted Teaching Approach (Reciprocal Teaching) students' independence in learning biology enhanced. It is based on the results of questionnaires, observations and interviews. The questionnaire of students’ learning independence showed that the mean percentage of students’ achievement in each indicator in pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II was 67.97%, 72.55%, and 77.58% respectively. The observation of students’ learning independence showed that the mean percentage of students’ achievement in each indicator in pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II was 39.68%, 67.5%, and 80.62% respectively. It can be concluded that the implementation of Inverted Teaching Approach (Reciprocal Teaching) can enhance students learning independence.
