VEST is W[2]-hard

In this short note, we show that the problem of VEST is $W[2]$-hard for parameter $k$. This strengthens a result of Matou\v{s}ek, who showed $W[1]$-hardness of that problem. The consequence of this result is that computing the $k$-th homotopy group of a $d$-dimensional space for $d > 3$ is $W[2]$-hard for parameter $k$.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figure

Measurement of thermal cycles on welded joint

Import 26/06/2013Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na měření teplotních cyklů na svarovém spoji oceli 16Mo3. V teoretické části bakalářské práce je uvedeno rozdělení žáropevných ocelí používaných pro tepelně namáhané součásti kotlů a dále svařitelnost nízkolegovaných žáropevných ocelí. V závěru teoretické části je popsán teplotní cyklus svařování, teplotní pole a tepelně ovlivněná oblast svarového spoje. V experimentální části bylo navrženo a provedeno měření teplotních cyklů při svařování metodou ručního obloukového svařování obalenou elektrodou. V závěru experimentální části bakalářské práce jsou uvedeny reprezentativní teplotní cykly pro jednotlivá pásma tepelně ovlivněné oblasti.The bachelor thesis is focused on the measurement of the thermal cycles at the weld joint of steel 16Mo3. In the theoretical part of the bachelors thesis there is the partition of creep resistant steels used for heat-stressed parts of boilers and weldability of low-alloyed creep resistant steels. At the end of the theoretical part there is described the thermal cycle of welding, temperature field and heat affected zone of welded joint. In the experimental part, measurements of thermal cycles during manual metal arc welding with coated electrode were designed and made. Failure State Simulator of Automotive Sensors

Tématem této diplomové práce je návrh a realizace simulátoru poruchových stavů teplotních senzorů s rozhraním SENT pro společnost Continental Powertrain Czech Republic s.r.o. Realizace simulátoru poruchových stavů senzorů je provedena ve formě přenosného zařízení s mikrokontrolérem. Pro realizaci FW simulátoru je využit jazyk C. Součástí práce je rozbor základní problematiky elektronických systémů určených pro automobilový průmysl. Práce se dále zabývá rozborem vybraných sběrnic a rozhraní využívaných v automobilovém průmyslu pro senzorické systémy. Z hlediska senzorických systémů je uveden rozbor možných poruchových stavů s návazností na testování v oblasti EMC.Theme of this diploma thesis is design and realisation of failure state simulator of temperature sensors with SENT interface for company Continental Powertrain Czech Republic s.r.o. The simulator is realised as portable device with microcontroller. C language is used for FW implementation. Part of the thesis is basic analysis of electronic systems problematics designated for automotive industry. Valuation of the Company by Means of Selected Methods

Import 22/07/2015Cílem diplomové práce bylo stanovení tržní hodnoty vybrané společnosti PEGAS NONWOVENS S.A. společně s rozdělení pravděpodobnosti této hodnoty k datu 1. 4. 2015. Dílčím cílem této práce bylo porovnání výsledků jednotlivých metod a také výsledků jedné metody vycházející z různých kapitálových struktur. Diplomová práce je, kromě úvodu a závěru, rozdělena do tří kapitol. Druhá kapitola byla věnována teoretickým východiskům oceňování podniku, na jejichž základě bylo ocenění podniku provedeno. Ve třetí kapitole byla uvedena stručná charakteristika oceňované společnosti a následně byla provedena strategická a finanční analýza, jejichž závěry byly shrnuty ve SWOT analýze. Čtvrtá kapitola byla zaměřena na samotné ocenění společnosti. Prvně byl vytvořen funkční model vývoje tržeb společnosti a následnou simulací náhodného vývoje jednotlivých vysvětlujících proměnných tohoto modelu bylo stanoveno 10 000 scénářů vývoje tržeb, na jejichž základě byly sestaveny dlouhodobé finanční plány společnosti, od nichž byly pro každý scénář odvozeny náklady na celkový kapitál v jednotlivých letech. V závěru kapitoly došlo k ocenění společnosti vybranými oceňovacími metodami, zhodnocení a porovnání dosažených výsledků.The main goal of this thesis was to determine the market value of the selected company PEGAS NONWOVENS S.A. together with the probability distribution of values at the date of 1. 4. 2015. A partial goal of this thesis was to compare the results of each method and the results of one method based on different capital structures. The thesis is, apart from the introduction and conclusion, divided into three chapters. The second chapter was devoted to a theoretical basis of valuation, on which valuation of company was performed. In the third chapter was valued company briefly introduced and subsequently was performed strategic and financial analysis, whose conclusions were summarized in a SWOT analysis. The fourth chapter focused on the valuation of the company itself. First was created a functional model of the development of company sales and subsequent simulating of random development of individual explanatory variables of the model determined 10,000 sales scenarios under which were long-term financial plans of the company compiled, from which were for each scenario derived the cost of the total capital in individual years . Design of Wheelchair Access to a Railway Carriage

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá návrhem konstrukce sloužící k upevnění plošiny pro cestující na invalidním vozíku do železničního vozu. Úvodní část se zabývá především problematikou cestování osob na invalidním vozíku. Praktická část řeší variantní řešení konstrukce, různé případy namáhání konstrukce, pevnostní kontrolu a výpočet šroubového spoje. V závěru práce jsou vyhodnoceny výsledky výpočtů a splnění cílů práce.This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a structure used to attach a trainlift to a railway car. The introductory part deals mainly with the difficulties disabled people face when travelling in a wheelchairs. The practical part deals with a variant solution of the structure, solves several cases of stress in the structure, strength analysis and calculation of a bolted joint. Possibilities of reducing the impact of road traffic on the environment

Cílem práce bylo zjistit možnosti snižování vlivu silniční dopravy na životní prostředí. V rámci průzkumu vlivů byly identifikovány a popsány nejdůležitější z nich. Vlivy byly roztříděny podle naléhavosti a jejich rizika pro životní prostředí. Byl vybrán nejvýznamnější vliv, emise prachových částic z dopravy a byly zváženy možnosti snižováni jeho vlivu. Jedna z nejslibnějších možností, stavba obchvatů, byla zkoumána ve větším detailu. Byl vybrán obchvat prodloužená Rudná ve městě Ostrava, části Poruba. Byly shromážděny data o ročních koncentrací suspendovaných částic v ovzduší, před a po otevření obchvatu.The goal of this thesis, was to investigate different solutions of lowering impact of road transport on the environment. As part of the investigation of the different causes of negative impact, the most important of these were described and identified. The causes were sorted based on their importance and of the risk they pose to the environment. The most important cause of negative impact, dust from road transport, was selected and options for mitigation were considered. One of the most promising solutions, the building of bypasses, was explored in a greater detail. A bypass called Prodloužená Rudná, in the city of Ostrava, district Poruba, was selected. Design and Layout of a Rear-View Mirror

Diplomová práce se zabývá návrhem zpětného zrcátka pro strojvedoucího kolejového vozidla. Práce byla vypracována ve spolupráci se společností ŠKODA TRANSPORTATION a.s. Úvodní část se zabývá specifikací zpětných zrcátek a uvádí několik používaných řešení. Praktická část se věnuje vlastnímu konstrukčnímu návrhu, jeho funkci, konstrukčním výpočtům a pevnostní kontrole vybraných dílů. V příloze práce je přiložena výkresová dokumentace vlastního návrhu.This master thesis deals with a design of a rear-view mirror used by a train conductor. The thesis has been completed in cooperation with ŠKODA TRANSPORTATION a.s. The introductory part deals with the specifications of rear-view mirrors and presents several used solutions. The practical part consists of personal design, its function, design calculations and strength analysis of chosen parts. Práce se zaměřuje především na jedinečnost navrženého produktu, která je klíčová k vymezení se v širokém spektru současné nabídky. Dále popisuje v textové formě a v podobě vizualizací celý návrhový proces.The aim of this thesis is to create a new design of table coffee machine, that provides all construction, engineering, aesthetic and ergonomic requirements. This thesis focuses on the uniqueness of the product, which is key for definition among a wide range of current products. Thesis also describes in text form and in the form of visualization the entire design process.
