The purpose of this research is to examine direct and indirect effect ofinvestment decision and dividend policy, business risk and firm value.Furthermore inderect effect on examined with testing investment decision and dividend policyon firm value mediated by business risk. Purposive sampling is use to get our samples from fifty-four firms population that include in miscellaneous industry. We get twenty-one firms that used as our samples to analysis the data we use path analysis. The results of this study indicate that direct investment decision no significant effect on the business risk, dividend policy no significant effect on business risk directly. Direct investment decision no significant effect on the firm value, dividend policy directly significant effect on firm value. Direct business risk had significant effect on firm value. This means that the business risk is not able to mediate the relationship between investment decision on firm value And business risk are also not able to mediate relationship between the dividend policy condition on the firm value

Appearing livestock modernity due to a greater dependency on the market and actions follows the capitalistic logic of production. This study focuses on the mode of production in developing dairy cattle in the modernity era. Data collection was carried out through observations, recordings, and deep interviews for key informants using the snowball technique. The data were compiled in forms of field notes and audio records transferring into written transcription. Those data were then analyzed using thematic analysis. This study found out that the forces of production in dairy farms are based on simple technology, and subsistence needs orientation. Also, this study becomes aware of the social relations of production in dairy farms are based on a low division of labor and combine morality and rationality based on production organizations. Thus, the mode of production of dairy farming is a non-capitalistic. This research contributes to the modernization theory that the modernization process is not always displayed by changes from non-capitalistic to capitalistic modes of production. It is expected that dairy farming is no longer considered a side job, but is a promising and attractive job for the younger generation. Thus, this condition encourages the emergence of young breeders who certainly have better abilities than the current breeders. The increasing entrepreneurial spirit of farmers, it is expected to have an impact on increasing income and employment. Production mode also plays an essential function to assist in increasing output per labor unit. Labor productivity is projected to rise through innovation and technology

The Dynamics of Livelihood Assets on Moving Duck Farmers

Moving duck farming is a livelihood system that does not occupy a settled location but moves. Therefore, the relationship between livelihood assets, livelihood strategies, and livelihood outcome is influenced by the characteristics of the moving. This study aims to explain the dynamics of livestock capital of duck farmers moving at various distances in their moving cycle. Data collection techniques were participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Comparative analysis was applied to see the dynamics of livelihood assets composition based on sequences and moving distances. The result showed that there was a dynamic utilization of livelihood assets based on the moving cycle between the travel process and the settling process at the grazing location. It was concluded that there were differences in the composition of the use of human capital, financial capital, physical capital, natural capital, and social capital between short-distance, medium-distance, and long-distance movements. This study found that the livelihood assets usage on moving duck farming was attributed to the moving traveled distance. At nearby movements, livelihood assets tend forgone for moving duck farming since they are also used for paddy fields. Livelihood assets, such as human, natural, and physical capital, are more dominant than the financial and social capital. The capital carries out to retrieve the fields after harvesting as a grazing site while sustaining that access. It can be concluded that the livelihood assets utilization in moving duck-based livelihood systems are dynamics based on the cycle and the distance of moving covered

Characterisation of the woven fabric of jute, ramie and roselle for reinforcement material for polymer composite

    Get PDF
The current research aims to describe the natural woven of jute, ramie and roselle as a reinforcement material for the future applications. On the woven jute, ramie and roselle, four (4) forms of mechanical testing were conducted consisting of grab strength, tearing strength, puncture strength, and fibre pull-out testing. Additionally, the unsaturated polyester resin (UPE) was reinforced with all the woven fabric to determine its effect on the properties of the tensile. The test result for jute and ramie is 103.5N and 137.9N from multiple fiber pull-out, so more force is required in the warp direction to pull the fiber out than in the weft direction which is 102.5N and 124.3N. The result of grab test is opposite from multiple fibre pull-out test. Woven fabric in weft direct required more force which is about 1.4-29.2%. Less than 115N needed for splitting ramie in warp and weft direction compared jute and roselle fabric. The different energy provided by rosselle compared to jute and ramie fabric is 1-1.5Nm based on the puncture resistance test. Result of fibre reinforced UPE is obtained are in range of 21.4 - 27.9MPa which analogous to yarn and textile testing

Efect of maleated anhydride on mechanical properties of rice husk filler reinforced PLA Matrix Polymer Composite

Polylactic acid (PLA) formulated from corn starch has a bright potential to replace the non-renewable petroleum-based plastics. The combination of PLA and natural fbre has gained interest due to its unique performance, as reported in many researches and industries. Meanwhile, rice husk produced as the by-product of rice milling can be utilised, unless it is turned completely into waste. Therefore, in the present study, the rice husk powder (RHP) was used as a fller in the PLA, so to determine the infuence of the fller loading on the mechanical properties of the PLA composite. A coupling agent was selected for treatment from two options, i.e., maleic anhydride polypropylene (MAPP) and maleic anhydride polyethylene (MAPE), by applying the agents with various loading contents, such as 2, 4 and 6 wt%. The composite was fabricated by using the hot compression machine. Both the treated and untreated RHP–PLA composites were characterised via the tensile, fexural and impact strength tests. The increase in the RHP loading content led to the decrease in the tensile and fexural strengths. The applications of the coupling agents (MAPE and MAPP) did not improve the tensile and impact strengths, but the fexural strength was enhanced
