Re-surveying Decision Support Methodology: Fuzzy Logic as an instrument for establishing area selection and priority

Decision making for hydrographic re-surveying is not a simple task. In order to make such decisions, authorities must find a way to combine many types of information to select the areas that should be re-surveyed. In this article the authors will analyze how to organize the necessary information and describe the main types of indicators for the re-surveying decision. After that, the authors will show the advantages of using Fuzzy Logic to combine them into criteria. Finally a suggestion of a re-surveying decision support methodology will be given, followed by a case study and some brief conclusions.La toma de decisiones para un nuevo levantamiento hidrogrâfico no es una tarea sencilla. Para tomar taies decisiones, las autoridades tienen que encontrar la manera de combinar muchos tipos de informaciôn, para seleccionar las areas que deberân ser levantadas nuevamente. En este articulo los autores analizarân cômo organizar la informaciôn necesaria y describirân los principales tipos de indicadores para tomar la decision de un nuevo levantamiento. Después de es to, los autores mostrarân las ventajas de utilizar una “Lôgica Confusa" para combinarlos en los criterios. Finalmente, se sugerirâ una metodologia de apoyo para la décision de un nuevo levantamiento, seguida del estudio de un caso y de algunas breves conclusiones.Les prises de décision relative à l’exécution de nouveaux levés hydrographiques ne constituent pas une tâche simple. Afin de prendre de telles décisions, les autorités doivent trouver un moyen de combiner de nombreux types d'informations pour choisir les zones qui doivent être à nouveau hydrographiées. Dans cet article les auteurs analysent comment organiser les informations nécessaires et décrivent les principaux types d’indicateurs quant à la décision d’effectuer de nouveaux levés. Après cela, les auteurs s’attachent à montrer les avantages qu’il y a à utiliser Fuzzy Logic pour les combiner en critères. Enfin, une suggestion concernant une méthode de soutien aux prises de décisions liées à l’exécution de nouveaux levés sera faite, suivie d'une étude de cas et de quelques brèves conclusions

Home gateway do Living Usability Lab

Mestrado em Sistemas de InformaçãoA população sénior tem crescido exponencialmente nos últimos anos, o que leva a que haja uma procura de recursos de prestação de serviços de saúde que é maior do que a oferta. De forma a resolver este problema surgiu o Ambient Assisted Living para apoiar seniores no seu quotidiano, dentro das suas habitações. Neste documento é descrito o desenvolvimento do Home Gateway para apoio aos serviços Ambient Assisted Living, do projeto Living Usability Lab, e respetiva arquitetura. O Home Gateway é a entidade responsável por gerir todos os recursos oferecidos na habitação do sénior. A arquitetura deste sistema é baseada na arquitetura orientada a serviços, utilizando o OSGi. Os recursos são todos disponibilizados através de serviços Web pelo que são descritos alguns dos serviços implementados. O Home Gateway desenvolvido responde eficientemente à necessidade de este ser autónomo, de interoperabilidade, de segurança, de escalabilidade, de conter monitorização, de personalização, de adaptação, de ser embebido e distribuído, de providenciar interação explícita, entre outros. O sistema desenvolvido é passível de ser expandido a outras áreas de saúde e a outros leques etários, para além do apoio à população sénior na própria habitação. Em suma e tendo em conta as conclusões e limitações do trabalho desenvolvido torna-se evidente a possibilidade de trabalhos futuros focados em soluções que podem vir a ser implementadas.The elder population has been growing exponentially in the last years, which results in a greater search of provision of health care resources comparing to the provision of that services. In order to solve this problem the Ambient Assisted Living emerged to support the elderly in their daily life, within their homes. In this document, it’s described the development of the Home Gateway to support the services of Ambient Assisted Living, of Living Usability Lab project and its architecture. The Home Gateway is the entity responsible for managing all the resources available in the elderly's house. The Home Gateway architecture is based on service-oriented architecture using OSGi. The resources are all available through Web services, hence some of the implemented services are described. The developed Home Gateway responds effectively to the needs of being autonomous, of interoperability, security, scalability, monitoring, customization, adaptation, being impregnated and distributed, providing explicit interaction, among others. The system that has been developed may be used in other health areas and with different age ranges in addition to supporting the elderly in their own homes. In brief, and taking into account the conclusions and limitations of the developed work, it becomes clear the possibility of future work on the field focused on solutions that can be implemented

A importância do agachamento completo na melhoria da performance de sprint

Este estudo pretendeu examinar a importância do agachamento completo como ferramenta de treino para melhorar a capacidade de sprint. Foram seleccionados vinte e quatro sujeitos que for divididos em dois grupos homogéneos: um, de agachamento, constituído por 12 sujeitos tendo uma média (SD) de 21,1±3 anos, 170,8±8cm de altura, 69,0±15,3Kg de peso e 1RM 63,9±28,9Kg no exercício de agachamento e um outro, de sprint, formado igualmente por 12 sujeitos com uma média de 20,3±1,3 anos, 170,8±8cm, 63,9±9,3Kg e 1RM 61,4±26,7Kg. Ambos os grupos foram submetidos a um programa de treino de 6 semanas, no qual um dos grupos foi submetido a um protocolo de treino de agachamento e ou outro a um protocolo de treino de sprint. O grupo de agachamento obteve resultados mais significativos face ao grupo de sprint nomeadamente nos 20m (p=0,039) e nos 30m (p=0,008). Contudo, não existiram diferenças significativas entre grupos em qualquer um dos momentos, nas diferentes variáveis avaliadas. Assim pode-se sugerir que o treino de força baseado num único exercício (e.g. agachamento completo) pode ser determinante para desenvolver a capacidade de sprint de curta duração.The aim of this study was to examine de influence of the full squat exercise in order to improve sprint ability. Twenty subjects were selected and allocated in a full squat group and in a sprint only training group. The first comprised 12 subjects with a mean (SD) of 21.1 ± 3 years, 170.8 ± 8 cm, 69.0 1RM ± 15.3 kg and 63.9 ± 28.9 kg and the other one was also composed by 12 subjects with a mean of 20.3 ± 1.3 years, 170.8 ± 8 cm, 63.9 ± 9.3 kg and 61 1RM 4 ± 26.7 Kg. Only the squat training showed significant improvements, namely in the 20m (p = 0.039) and in the 30m sprint (p = 0.008). No significant differences were noticed between groups after 6 weeks of training. In brief, these results suggest a singe strength training exercise like the full squat exercise can be effective in order improve sprint performance

Folias Galileu: o espectador em ato performativo

O artigo trata da condição do público em proposições cênicas recentes,tendo em vista a perspectiva performativa do ato do espectador, que sevolta menos para a tentativa de decifrar e interpretar o discurso cênicoproferido, e se disponibiliza para outro modo de atuação, em que o sentidonão é mais algo a ser explicado, mas um efeito a ser experimentado. Para realizar tal análise, debates performativos foram propostos a partir do espetáculo Folias Galileu, do Grupo Folias, buscando evidenciar o modo de produção do público em sua relação com o espetáculo e enunciar, em ato coletivo, uma poética dos espectadores.The article deals with audience’s condition in recent scenic propositions, taking into account the perfomative perspective of the spectator’s act, which turns less to the attempt to decipher and interpret the delivered scenic speech and provides itself to another form of acting, in which the meaning is no longer something to be explained but an effect to be experimented. Este Relatório recai sobre o trabalho feito por mim no departamento de Comunicação e Marca na Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, na extensão do estágio curricular do Mestrado de Novos Media e Práticas Web, orientado pelo Professor Francisco Cádima. O estágio teve início em 4 de Outubro de 2016 e terminou a 4 de Janeiro de 2017. O Relatório abordará as minhas funções de Social Media Manager na Câmara Municipal de Lisboa e, será focado nos seguintes pontos: análises críticas realizadas sobre o desempenho da Câmara Municipal de Lisboa nas principais redes sociais, desenvolvimento de estratégias para o futuro destas, criação de um projecto de activação da presença da Câmara Municipal de Lisboa na plataforma Snapchat e ainda a criação de uma proposta de reestruturação para a plataforma Instagram.This report focuses on the work done by me in the Department of Communication and Brand at the Lisbon City Hall, within the framework of the curriculum internship of the Master in News Media and Web Practices. Price-setting hotel competition with corporate social responsibility

Pricing plays an important role in any market competition, but particularly in those businesses that hold a seat in hyper competitive economic activities such as hotels. This paper analyses a market competition between one corporate social responsibility (CSR) hotel and one for profit (FP) hotel, in which both hotels set room prices. We study three different market behaviors: (i) both hotels take their decisions simultaneously; (ii) the CSR hotel takes the leader position; (iii) the FP hotel takes the leader position. For each situation, by using game theory techniques, we compute the different outcomes of the model at equilibrium. Passing Through a Hole: Delayed Diaphragmatic Hernia After Cytoreductive Surgery

A diaphragmatic hernia is a protrusion of abdominal contents into the thoracic cavity. Although it is commonly congenital, diaphragmatic hernias can also be acquired. Blunt or penetrating trauma are among the most frequent causes, although spontaneous or iatrogenic cases have been reported. Recently, some case reports related to diaphragmatic hernia after debulking surgery for advanced ovarian cancer have been described. This is an exceedingly rare but life-threatening complication, being prompt recognition and surgical correction critical. We report a case of a delayed diaphragmatic hernia in a 19-year-old female resulting from cytoreductive surgery for advanced ovarian cancer. Rapid evolution from gastrointestinal symptoms to hypovolemic shock occurred, and intensive care admission was required. Immediate surgery was critical to improving the patient outcome. This case highlights this uncommon but life-threatening complication, the challenges of diagnosing and managing those patients, and the need for early recognition, support, and surgical correction.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Pneumocephalus Following an Accidental Dural Puncture, Treated Using Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. A Case Report

Introduction: Neuraxial techniques, including epidural anaesthesia, are often used for perioperative pain control and are generally safe. However, both transient, mild and even severe, life-threatening neurologic complications can occur. Case presentation: A seventy-eight-year-old man was admitted to the hospital for a radical nephrectomy plus transurethral resection due to kidney and bladder cancer. During the epidural exploration, an accidental dural puncture was noted. This was followed by the patient complaining of an intense headache. The epidural catheter was placed in a different location, and surgery was performed uneventfully. The patient presented with confusion, agita-tion, vertical nystagmus, vision loss, and paraparesis about two hours later. The epidural levobupivacaine and mor-phine infusion were stopped, followed by motor block resolution. A computerized head-tomography scan showed extra-axial multiple air spots involving the frontal and temporal lobes. Emergent hyperbaric oxygen therapy was commenced. After a single session, there was complete resolution of all symptoms and a marked reduction in the number and volume of the extra-axial air visible on the CT scan. Conclusions: Although rare, pneumocephalus is a well-recognized complication of a dural puncture. Its rapid recognition in a patient with new-onset neurological symptoms and early treatment with hyperbaric oxygen therapy allows rapid clinical and imaging resolution and an improved prognosis.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

OS LIMITES E OS DESAFIOS DA IMPLEMENTAÇÃO DA JUSTIÇA RESTAURATIVA EM PERNAMBUCO

Esse trabalho versa sobre os limites e os desafios da implementação da Justiça Restaurativa em Pernambuco. Esse tema ganha relevo atualmente pelos desafios enfrentados pelo sistema penal punitivo-retributivo que é aplicado atualmente, sendo um modelo utilizado nacionalmente, dos quais se destacam a superlotação carcerária e a impossibilidade de um processo humanizado, onde o objetivo não é apenas a defesa dos bens jurídicos, nem a punição, mas a real ressocialização do ofensor, junto a sociedade. Esta pesquisa foi norteada pela seguinte questão: Diante do sistema penal punitivo-retributivo de Pernambuco, é possível a aplicação da Justiça Restaurativa como solução para os conflitos penais? Para responder essa pergunta, será utilizada uma metodologia dedutiva em base da revisão bibliográfica a partir de pesquisa na Biblioteca Eletrônica do IBCCRIM, com o termo “Justiça Restaurativa”, e de conversas informais feitas com membros ativos da Justiça Restaurativa em Pernambuco, Bruno Arrais e Eduardo Paysan, com o intuito de esclarecer o campo prático atual. Primeiro, objetivou-se apresentar a construção da Justiça Restaurativa como modelo de conflitos penais, analisando o desenvolvimento histórico e conceitual do termo. Em seguida, analisar o atual cenário brasileiro em relação a Justiça Restaurativa, através da normatização que norteou sua formatação e os projetos pioneiros nacionais. Por fim, analisar a justiça restaurativa como modelo de gerenciamento de conflitos penais em Pernambuco, a partir dos projetos de Justiça Restaurativa que existem nessa localidade. Ao fim desse estudo, conclui-se que, diante da cultura punitiva-retributiva de Recife, onde a sociedade também faz parte da mesma, visando a pena como uma forma de resolução de problemas, a Justiça Restaurativa, mesmo com resultados promissores onde foi aplicada, ainda não encontra espaço jurídico suficiente para se tornar uma solução para os conflitos penai
