ATLETISMO E ENSINO DA HISTÓRIA E CULTURA AFRO-BRASILEIRA: VISÃO DE PROFESSORES DE EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA PARTICIPANTES DE UM CURSO DE EXTENSÃO A DISTÂNCIA

This article looks into the perspective of participants in a community outreach distance education course over the suitability of Athletics for teaching African Brazilian History and Culture through a qualitative online research. It examined records provided on the Moodle Platform and obtained through open questionnaires and spontaneous manifestations on various forums. Data processing used Content Analysis. The following subcategories were identified: a) appropriate approach for addressing the topic; reproducing Brazil’s ethnic diversity; b) space for asserting black culture; c) non-exclusive approach; and d) innovative approach and content applicable in Physical Education classes. Based on participants’ opinions, Athletics was found to show huge potential for approaching African Brazilian History and Culture in Physical Education classes. Averiguar la visión de participantes de un curso de extensión a distancia sobre la adecuación del Atletismo para la enseñanza de la Historia y Cultura Afrobrasileña es el objetivo de este artículo. Para la obtención de estas informaciones se realizó una investigación cualitativa y online. Se consideraron los registros disponibles en la Plataforma Moodle, obtenidos a través de un cuestionario abierto y de las libres manifestaciones en los diversos foros disponibles. Para el tratamiento de estos datos se utilizó la técnica de Análisis de Contenido. Se identificaron las siguientes subcategorías: a) adecuada para el tratamiento de la temática; reproductora de la diversidad étnica brasileña; b) espacio de afirmación de la cultura negra; c) posibilidad no exclusiva de tratamiento y d) enfoque innovador y contenido aplicable a las clases de Educación Física. Se verificó, entonces, que en opinión de los participantes el Atletismo presenta gran potencialidad para el tratamiento de la Historia y Cultura Afrobrasileña en clases de Educación Física. Averiguar a visão de participantes de um curso de extensão a distância sobre a adequação do Atletismo para o ensino da História e Cultura Afro-Brasileira é o objetivo deste artigo. Para a obtenção destas informações optou-se pela realização de uma pesquisa do tipo qualitativa e online. Foram considerados os registros disponibilizados pela Plataforma Moodle, obtidos por meio de um questionário aberto e das livres manifestações nos diversos fóruns disponibilizados. Para o tratamento destes dados utilizou-se a técnica de Análise do Conteúdo. Foram identificadas as seguintes subcategorias: a) adequada ao tratamento da temática; reprodutora da diversidade étnica brasileira; b) espaço de afirmação da cultura negra; c) possibilidade não exclusiva de tratamento e d) enfoque inovador e conteúdo aplicável às aulas de Educação Física. Verificou-se, então, que, na opinião dos participantes, o Atletismo apresenta grande potencialidade para o tratamento da História e Cultura Afro-Brasileira em aulas de Educação Física.

COLÉGIO MILITAR DE FORTALEZA: EVIDÊNCIAS DE SUA IMPORTÂNCIA PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO DO ATLETISMO NO CEARÁ (1924-1955)

Resumo: Este artigo busca descrever o processo de desenvolvimento do Atletismo no Colégio Militar de Fortaleza, buscando indícios de seu pioneirismo em relação à modalidade no estado do Ceará. Diante dos resultados obtidos, por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, documental e entrevistas, verificou-se que um dos primeiros registros da prática do Atletismo em Fortaleza ocorreu nas dependências do atual CMF, em 1924. Além disso, a primeira pista de Atletismo da cidade, inaugurada em 1955, também ocupava as mesmas instalações. Estes acontecimentos ocorreram antes da fundação da Federação Cearense de Atletismo, que ocorreu somente em 1972. Desta forma, verificou-se a importância ímpar do CMF para o desenvolvimento do Atletismo no estado do Ceará.Palavras-chave: Atletismo; história; Ceará. Colégio Militar de Fortaleza: evidence of its importance for the development of athletics in Ceará (1924-1955) Abstract: This article intends to describe the process of Athletics development in the Colégio Militar de Fortaleza, searching for evidences of its pioneering in relation to the modality in the state of Ceará. Given the results obtained, through bibliographic and documentary research, as well as interviews, it was found that one of the first records of Athletics practice in Fortaleza occurred at the premises of the current CMF, in 1924. In addition, the city's first Athletics track, inaugurated in 1955, also occupied the same facilities. These events occurred before the foundation of the Ceará Athletics Federation, which occurred only in 1972. Con base en los resultados obtenidos, mediante investigación bibliográfica y documental, así como entrevistas, se encontró que uno de los primeros registros de práctica de Atletismo en Fortaleza ocurrió en las instalaciones del actual CMF, en 1924. Además, la primera pista de Atletismo en la ciudad de Fortaleza, inaugurado en 1955, también ocupaba el mismo local. Estos hechos ocurrieron antes de la fundación de la Federación de Atletismo de Ceará, que solo tuvo lugar en 1972. A INSTITUCIONALIZAÇÃO DO RACISMO CONTRA NEGROS(AS) E AS INJÚRIAS RACIAIS NO ESPORTE PROFISSIONAL: O CONTEXTO INTERNACIONAL

Racism is a sociocultural phenomenon with remarkable expression in sports. This study analyzes scientific works on racism in professional sports published between 2008 and 2018. Searches were performed on two databases: Portal da CAPES and journals indexed on the Sucupira Platform’ evaluation area of ‘Physical Education.’ Sixty-five articles were selected and divided into the categories ‘racial slur’ and ‘institutional racism.’ Several cases of racial slurs are analyzed and illustrate how racism has hampered black athletes’ careers in several sports. At institutional level, campaigns against racism are analyzed, as well as racist forms of discrimination present in sports such as football, basketball, baseball and American football. We highlight the variety of approaches, the relevance of the studies and the importance of the topic for addressing racism in the studied sports fields.El racismo es un fenómeno sociocultural que tiene una notable expresión en el deporte. El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar la producción científica internacional sobre el racismo em los deportes profesionales entre 2008 y 2018. La búsqueda se realizó en dos bases de datos: Portal de la CAPES y revistas indexadas en el área de evaluación “Educación Física” de la Plataforma Sucupira. Fueron seleccionados 65 artículos que son analizados a partir de las categorías “insulto racial” y “racismo institucional”. Varios casos de injuria racial son analizados e ilustran las formas en que el racismo ha puesto obstáculos a las trayectorias de los atletas negros en diversas modalidades. A nivel institucional, se analizan campañas contra el racismo, así como formas racistas de discriminación presentes en deportes como fútbol, baloncesto, béisbol y fútbol americano. Destacamos la variedad de enfoques, la relevancia de los estudios y la importancia del tema para enfrentar el racismo en los campos deportivos estudiados. O racismo é um fenômeno sociocultural que tem notável expressão nos campos esportivos. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar a produção científica internacional sobre o racismo nos esportes profissionais publicada entre 2008 e 2018. A busca foi realizada em duas bases de dados: Portal da Capes e revistas indexadas na área de avaliação “Educação Física” da Plataforma Sucupira. Foram selecionados 65 artigos os quais são analisados a partir das categorias “injúria racial” e “racismo institucional”. Vários casos de injúria racial são analisados e ilustram formas como o racismo tem colocado obstáculos às trajetórias de atletas negros em diversas modalidades. No plano institucional, são analisadas campanhas contra o racismo, bem como formas racistas de discriminação presentes em esportes como futebol, basquete, beisebol e futebol americano. Destacam-se a variedade de enfoques, a relevância dos estudos e a importância da temática para o enfrentamento do racismo nos campos esportivos estudados

¿EL ATLETISMO (AÚN) NO SE APRENDE EN LA ESCUELA? REVISANDO ARTÍCULOS PUBLICADOS EN REVISTAS CIENTÍFICAS DE EDUCACIÓN FÍSICA EN LOS ÚLTIMOS AÑOS

Esta pesquisa buscou verificar, com base no levantamento de artigos publicados em periódicos científicos da área, se o atletismo tem sido efetivamente abordado em aulas de Educação Física. Para isto realizou-se uma revisão sistemática de artigos publicados entre 2005 e 2013 em 15 periódicos científicos da área. Os artigos investigados são oriundos de diferentes estados e municípios brasileiros e tiveram seus dados obtidos por meio de entrevistas e questionários, tendo como sujeitos professores e estudantes de Educação Física. Os resultados demonstram haver um crescimento da presença do atletismo nos programas de Educação Física na escola. Based on a survey in scientific journals, this study aimed to verify the actual presence of athletics in Physical Education classes. We used a systematic review of articles published between 2005 and 2013 in 15 PE journals. The articles verified come from distinct states and cities in Brazil. Interviews and questionnaires were used to collect data from Physical Education teachers and undergraduate students. The results show an increase in the presence of athletics in school Physical Education classes.Esta investigación se propone averiguar, con base en el análisis de artículos publicados en revistas científicas del área, si el atletismo realmente ha sido abordado como parte de la asignatura de Educación Física. Para ello, se llevó a cabo una revisión sistemática de artículos publicados entre los años 2005 y 2013 en 15 revistas científicas del área. Los artículos analizados han sido escritos en diferentes estados y municipios brasileños y los datos expuestos en los mismos fueron obtenidos a través de entrevistas y cuestionarios dirigidos a profesores y estudiantes de Educación Física. Brazilian Flora 2020: Leveraging the power of a collaborative scientific network

International audienceThe shortage of reliable primary taxonomic data limits the description of biological taxa and the understanding of biodiversity patterns and processes, complicating biogeographical, ecological, and evolutionary studies. This deficit creates a significant taxonomic impediment to biodiversity research and conservation planning. The taxonomic impediment and the biodiversity crisis are widely recognized, highlighting the urgent need for reliable taxonomic data. Over the past decade, numerous countries worldwide have devoted considerable effort to Target 1 of the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation (GSPC), which called for the preparation of a working list of all known plant species by 2010 and an online world Flora by 2020. Brazil is a megadiverse country, home to more of the world's known plant species than any other country. Despite that, Flora Brasiliensis, concluded in 1906, was the last comprehensive treatment of the Brazilian flora. The lack of accurate estimates of the number of species of algae, fungi, and plants occurring in Brazil contributes to the prevailing taxonomic impediment and delays progress towards the GSPC targets. Over the past 12 years, a legion of taxonomists motivated to meet Target 1 of the GSPC, worked together to gather and integrate knowledge on the algal, plant, and fungal diversity of Brazil. Overall, a team of about 980 taxonomists joined efforts in a highly collaborative project that used cybertaxonomy to prepare an updated Flora of Brazil, showing the power of scientific collaboration to reach ambitious goals. This paper presents an overview of the Brazilian Flora 2020 and provides taxonomic and spatial updates on the algae, fungi, and plants found in one of the world's most biodiverse countries. We further identify collection gaps and summarize future goals that extend beyond 2020. Our results show that Brazil is home to 46,975 native species of algae, fungi, and plants, of which 19,669 are endemic to the country. The data compiled to date suggests that the Atlantic Rainforest might be the most diverse Brazilian domain for all plant groups except gymnosperms, which are most diverse in the Amazon. However, scientific knowledge of Brazilian diversity is still unequally distributed, with the Atlantic Rainforest and the Cerrado being the most intensively sampled and studied biomes in the country. In times of “scientific reductionism”, with botanical and mycological sciences suffering pervasive depreciation in recent decades, the first online Flora of Brazil 2020 significantly enhanced the quality and quantity of taxonomic data available for algae, fungi, and plants from Brazil. This project also made all the information freely available online, providing a firm foundation for future research and for the management, conservation, and sustainable use of the Brazilian funga and flora

Growing knowledge: an overview of Seed Plant diversity in Brazil

Abstract An updated inventory of Brazilian seed plants is presented and offers important insights into the country's biodiversity. This work started in 2010, with the publication of the Plants and Fungi Catalogue, and has been updated since by more than 430 specialists working online. Brazil is home to 32,086 native Angiosperms and 23 native Gymnosperms, showing an increase of 3% in its species richness in relation to 2010. The Amazon Rainforest is the richest Brazilian biome for Gymnosperms, while the Atlantic Rainforest is the richest one for Angiosperms. There was a considerable increment in the number of species and endemism rates for biomes, except for the Amazon that showed a decrease of 2.5% of recorded endemics. However, well over half of Brazillian seed plant species (57.4%) is endemic to this territory. The proportion of life-forms varies among different biomes: trees are more expressive in the Amazon and Atlantic Rainforest biomes while herbs predominate in the Pampa, and lianas are more expressive in the Amazon, Atlantic Rainforest, and Pantanal. This compilation serves not only to quantify Brazilian biodiversity, but also to highlight areas where there information is lacking and to provide a framework for the challenge faced in conserving Brazil's unique and diverse flora
