The Use of Ellipsis by Character ‘Hazel' in “the Fault in Our Stars” Movie Script

Ellipsis is omission of words which has been understood well from the omissionwill not change the meaning of the utterance itself. We can find mostly ellipsis inspoken language. One of spoken languages we can use as the medium in learningellipsis is movie script. One of many great movie scripts is The Fault in Our Starsmovie script by Scott Neustadter& Michael H. Weber. The aim of the research isto find out the use of Ellipsis by ‘Hazel' in The Fault in Our Stars movie script.This research is descriptive qualitative research since it analyzes the use of ellipsisby ‘Hazel' in the movie script. The data are the ellipsis which are used bycharacter ‘Hazel' in each her utterances in The Fault in Our Stars movie scriptfrom 50 scenes. The result of the research shows there are three 124 utterancesconsist of 31 Nominal Ellipsis with 25%, 4 Verbal Ellipsis with 3.23%, and 89Clause Ellipsis with 71.77%. The most dominant type of Ellipsis that used bycharacter ‘Hazel' in The Fault in Our Stars movie script is Clause Ellipsis with 89total numbers and total percentages 71.77%. It means people in havingconversation want to be as effective as possible since the most complexgrammatical unit is a clause. From this research, I hope the readers, lecturers, andstudents should apply ellipsis appropriately in their daily conversation in order toavoid misunderstanding in the conversation since ellipsis appears mostly in theinformal context and daily conversation

The Effect of Ethanol Extract Coleus Ambonicus L on Antibody Titer of White Rats (Rattus Norvegicus) Trough SRBC as Antigen

This study aimed to determine the effect of ethanol extract of leaves bangunbangun (Coleus ambonicus L) antibody titer as humoral immunity and body weight in Wistar strain rats by using the sheep red blood cells (SRBC) as antigen. This study used 24 male white rats were randomly divided into fourtreatment groups consisting of six rats. The first group was given distilled water as a control, the second group was given 500 g / kg ethanol extract bangunbangun (EEC), the third group was given 500 g / kg EEC SRBC, and the fourth group was given distilled water+SRBC. EEC was administered orally every day for thirty days. SRBC administered intraperitoneally of 0.1 ml on day eight and day fifthteen. On day 31, blood was collected by decapitation, and collected in a tube that has been coated with an anticoagulant, and centrifuged to obtain serum. Antibody titers were measured by haemagglutination method. Weight gain is obtained by calculating the difference in initial weight and final weight of research. The data obtained were tabulated and analyzed by ANOVA and LSD test. Results of data analysis showed that administration of EC for 30 days in rats can increase the antibody titer significantly, and administration of EC for 30 days in rats didnt influence the gain of body weigh

Implementasi Kode Qr Pengiriman Kartu Hasil Studi Mahasiswa

Perkembangan QR Code (Quick Response Code), merupakan gambar dua dimensi yang memiliki kemampuan untuk menyimpan data. QR Code biasa digunakan untuk menyimpan data berupa teks, baik itu numerik, alfanumerik, maupun kode biner. QR Code banyak digunakan untuk keperluan komersil, khususnya di Jepang, biasanya berisi link url ke alamat tertentu atau sekedar teks berisi iklan, promosi, dan lain-lain. Perkembsngsn lainnya adalah teknologi internet dalam layanan SMTP Server yang tersedia secara gratis. Pada pembahasan kali ini penulis akan membuat sebuah program yang dapat membuat informasi KHS disimpan dalam bentuk QR Code dan selanjutnya QR Code KHS tersebut dikirim ke alamat E-Mail masing masing mahasiswa Teknik Informatika Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Unika Santo Thomas. Penulis telah membuat sebuah program dengan menggunakan bahasa pemograman C# yang mampu menghasilkan QR Code yang memuat informasi KHS dari seorang mahasiswa Teknik Informatika Fakultas Ilmu Komputer Unika Santo Thomas dan selanjutnya dikirimkan ke alamat E-Mail melalui pemanfaatan SMTP Server

Hypoglycemic Activity of Extract Leaf and Root Plant of Jombang (Taraxacum Officinale) in Alloxan-Induced Diabetic Wistar Male Rats

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a serious health problem worldwide, World Health Organization(WHO) declared Indonesia takes the fourth place in the DM problem. To overcome thisproblem, a synthesis drug and medicines have been produced. But production from thismedicine has side effects and require a lot of money for it, while many try to find a solutionto this disease. There are plants that can help in lowering blood glucose and that is Jombangas we known as dandelion. Because of this plant ability, this research is made. The purpose ofthis study is to obtain accurate data for lowering white rat’s blood glucose from 1 g extract ofleaf and root as determined volume is 0.4 ml, 0.6 ml, and 0.8 ml from leaf extract eachcontains 0.65 g, 0.97 g, and 1.29 g and root extract each contains 0.77 g, 1.15 g, and 1.54 gweight wet of herbs. This study uses True Experimental Design, 22 male rats are divided intofive groups: Negative Control (Group I), Positive Control (group II), Experiment I (groupIII): Rats were induced by alloxan and given extracted jombang leaves orally as much as 0.4ml (0.65 gram), 0.6 ml (0.97 gram), and 0.8 ml (1.29gram), Experiment II (group IV): Ratswere induced by alloxan and given extracted jombang roots orally as much as 0.4 ml (0.77grams), 0.6 ml (1.15 grams) and 0.8 ml (1.54 grams) and Experiment III (Group v): Ratswere induced by alloxan and given extracted as much mixture of leaves and roots of Jombang0.4 ml (0.71 gram), 0.6 ml (1.06 gram) and 0.8 ml (1.42 gram). Treatment started from day 6to day 15 and administered twice a day every 12-hour. The measurement of data wascollected on day 6, 9, 12, and 15. The data obtained is analyzed with logistic regression,ANOVA multivariate followed by Duncan’s multiple range test. The result showed that thevolume of group leaf extract, robot extract and the mixture of leaf and root extract 0.4 ml (0.65 g), 0.6 ml (0.97 g), and 0.8 ml (1.29 ml) can reducing blood glucose levels in alloxan-induced rats at the end of the Study. The best volume of extract in lowering blood glucose is 0.4 ml (1.42 g) mixture of leaf and root extracts of Jombang

This study aimed to analyze the factors that affect the volume of Indonesian exports of white shrimp (Penaeus indicus) to Hongkong and to formulate policies that can increase the volume of exports. Ordinary Least Square method (OLS) is used to analyze the factors that affect the volume of Indonesian white shrimp exports to Hongkong by time series data (time series) period of the last 24 years (1990 until 2013). All independent variables that have significant influence on the volume of Indonesian exports of white shrimp, which are: Hongkong population, Hongkong GDP per capita constant 2005, the nominal selling price of white shrimp Indonesia to Hongkong, the nominal selling price of white shrimp competitor to Hongkong, the nominal exchange rate of the Indonesian to Hongkong and Indonesian economic crisis in 1998 (dummy)

Analisis Komparasi Tingkat Pendapatan USAhatani Kopi dengan Berbagai Pola Tanam (Monokultur dan Polikultur) di Kabupaten Dairi Kecamatan Sumbul Desa Tanjung Beringin

Untuk mengetahui USAhatani kopi Arabika yang memberikan pendapatan yang lebih tinggi maka dilakukan analisis pendapatan pada USAhatani kopi Arabika yang ditanam secara monokultur dan tumpangsari kemudian dikomparasikan dengan menggunakan uji beda rata–rata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan produktivitas rata–rata budidaya kopi Arabika yang ditanami secara monokultur yaitu 79,6 % dari produktivitas rata–rata budidaya kopi Arabika yang ditanami secara tumpangsari. Pendapatan rata–rata per Ha budidaya kopi Arabika secara monokultur yaitu 67,49% dari pendapatan budidaya kopi Arabika secara tumpangsari. Hasil untuk setiap komparasi antara produktivitas dan tingkat pendapatan antara USAhatani kopi Arabika secara monokultur dan tumpangsari yaitu terima H1, artinya terdapat perbedaan yang nyata untuk masing–masing komparasi antara produktivitas dan tingkat pendapatan USAhatani Kopi Arabika yang dilakukan secara monokultur dan tumpangsari. Permasalahan yang dihadapi petani dalam budidaya kopi Arabika yaitu pengaruh iklim dan lingkungan, skala USAha, informasi harga, rendahnya pengetahuan tentang budidaya tumpangsari, perawatan yang intensif, dan tenaga kerja

The Education Model for Authorized, Outdoor and Terrible Areas Concerning the Diversity of Environmental, Social and Cultural Conditions (Based on Local Wisdom)

The purpose of this study is to design a model of education that is suitable for the foremost, outlying and underdeveloped areas. Research approach used was the research and development with Borg and Gall model (2003). The method used in this research is descriptive research method using Focus Group Discussion approach with resource persons from various circles ranging from Education Office, Headmaster and Teacher, lecturer of University, cultural public figure, and parents, amounting to 29 people. The location of the research was conducted at schools in three districts of East Lombok-West Nusa Tenggara, Manggari-East Nusa Tenggara, and Hulu Sungai UtaraSouth Kalimantan. The Respondents in this study are education offices, principals, teachers, community leaders in three districts in Indonesia. The results show that the model of education in an authorized, outdoor, and terrible areas with local wisdom that prioritizes local wisdom will be effective by using the principles of ”ASICT” (Assimilated, Supporting, Innovative, Comprehensive, and Technological Used) that will be able to accelerate and improve the achievement of the quality of education and is expected to be an alternative model in the implementation of education in lagging regions.     Keywords: development approach model, local wisdom, model of education, underdeveloped area
