    Uniform Plane Graphs

    Get PDF
This paper presents two special classes of plane graphs characterized by the sequences M(v) and W(e). M(v) is the circular sequence consisting of the numbers of vertices on the meshes around vertex v ; and W(e) is the sequence consisting of the numbers of vertices on the meshes to the right and the left of edge e and also of the degrees of the head and the tail of e. A graph is called uniform with respect to M(v) or W(e) if its vertices all have the same M(v), or if its edges all have the same W(e), respectively. It is shown that if such a uniform plane graph exists for the given M(v) or W(e), the numbers of its vertices, edges and meshes are uniquely determined. Then, the conditions on M(v) or W(e) for the existence of a graph are investigated. Tables of plane graphs which are uniform with respect to M(v) or W(e) are presented. Besides regular polyhedrons, there are thirteen types of graphs which are uniform with respect to M(v), and only four graphs which are uniform with respect to W(e)

Endpoint Strichartz estimates and global solutions for the nonlinear Dirac equation

    Get PDF
We prove endpoint Strichartz estimates for the Klein-Gordon and wave equations in mixed norms on the polar coordinates in three spatial dimensions. As an application, global wellposedness of the nonlinear Dirac equation is shown for small data in the energy class with some regularity assumption for the angular variable

    Remarks on the Rellich inequality

    Get PDF
We study the Rellich inequalities in the framework of equalities. We present equalities which imply the Rellich inequalities by dropping remainders. This provides a simple and direct understanding of the Rellich inequalities as well as the nonexistence of nontrivial extremisers. © 2016 Springer-Verlag Berlin HeidelbergEmbargo Period 12 month

Radioprotective Effect of Alk(en)yl Thiosulfates Derived from Allium Vegetables against DNA Damage Caused by X-Ray Irradiation in Cultured Cells: Antiradiation Potential of Onions and Garlic

    Get PDF
To evaluate a radioprotective effect of sodium n-propyl thiosulfate (NPTS) and sodium 2-propenyl thiosulfate (2PTS) derived from onions and garlic, respectively, rat hepatoma H4IIE cells and mouse lymphoma L5178Y cells were preincubated with each of these compounds for 48 hours at 37°C before receiving 10 Gy of X-ray irradiation. Cell damage caused by the irradiation was quantified as comet tail moment, which represents the degree of DNA damage. X-ray-induced DNA damage was significantly decreased in both H4IIE and L5178Y cells by micromolar concentrations of NPTS and 2PTS compared with the control without the compounds. The protective effect was more potent with 2PTS than NPTS. Onions and garlic have antiradiation potential

    Get PDF
