Formação docente: sua contribuição para preservação e restauração do patrimônio cultural da Estrada de Ferro Madeira-Mamoré

Dissertação apresentada como parte do requisito de aprovação no Programa de Pós-Graduação Stricto Sensu em Educação, Mestrado em Educação da Fundação Universidade Federal de Rondônia.A prática de abandono do símbolo maior e fundador do estado de Rondônia ganhou proporções alarmantes, chegando ao ponto de não se limitar apenas à destruição do patrimônio material, mas também do imaterial, perpassando, principalmente, pelo silêncio em volta da ideia de pertencimento, memória e identidade de um povo que só passou a existir a partir da construção da lendária Estrada de Ferro Madeira-Mamoré – E.F.M.M. Atualmente, o poder judiciário tem voltado sua atenção a esse processo paulatino de destruição iniciado a partir de 1966, na tentativa de criar medidas protetivas e corretivas, em especial após a grande enchente do Rio Madeira em 2014. No entanto, a educação também pode contribuir de maneira mais significativa, através de um trabalho permanente e sistemático, centrado em uma educação patrimonial, criando conhecimento individual e coletivo, visando à preservação e restauração daquilo que é o sentido de nossa existência enquanto povo. Isso indica que precisamos ir além da elaboração de leis, decretos, portarias e instruções normativas, pois elas não têm se mostrado suficientes para a preservação do patrimônio cultural da E.F.M.M. Dessa forma, elencamos como questão norteadora desta pesquisa: em que medida a formação docente valoriza a educação patrimonial como meio de preservação do patrimônio cultural em Rondônia? A partir dessa questão, foi delineado o objetivo geral: investigar se a formação docente valoriza a educação patrimonial como meio de preservação da história, cultura, memória e identidade do povo rondoniense estabelecido às margens da antiga E.F.M.M. As teorias desta pesquisa são baseadas em Nóvoa (1999), Alarcão (1996), Pimenta (2002), Shön (2008) e Reis (2000), quando se fala sobre a formação do professor, Horta, Grumberg e Monteiro (1999), quando o tema é sobre educação patrimonial, e Ferreira (2005), sobre a Estrada Madeira-Mamoré. Quanto aos sujeitos da pesquisa, dividimos em dois grupos: o primeiro composto por 15 professores que ministram a disciplina de História. O segundo grupo se compõe por 8 sujeitos que usaram a ferrovia ou trabalharam nela, os quais relatam suas experiências e a importância da Madeira-Mamoré para a história do Estado. O lócus da pesquisa compreende os 366 km da extinta ferrovia de seu ponto inicial em Porto Velho até o ponto final em Guajará-Mirim. As escolas foram previamente selecionadas a partir de critérios de importância histórica. A pesquisa de campo foi realizada de fevereiro a maio de 2015. A metodologia adotada se caracterizou por uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa-exploratória. Foram usadas como técnicas de coleta de dados a aplicação de questionário e entrevistas. Para verificação dos dados, usamos a análise de conteúdo baseado em Bardin (1979). Chegou-se à conclusão que os professores de História não estão sendo formados para trabalharem a educação patrimonial e que não possuem nem mesmo materiais básicos sobre a temática para atuarem em sala de aula. Dessa forma, a educação como um todo se encontra impossibilitada de realizar um trabalho significativo visando à conscientização junto à sociedade rondoniense sobre a importância de preservar e restaurar patrimônios culturais

Livelihood implications of in situ-on farm conservation strategies of fruit species in Uzbekistan

The aim of this paper is to analyze the impact of a set of interventions related to on-farm/in situ conservation and use of fruit species (cultivated and wild) on farmers’ livelihoods and species diversity in Central Asia. Specifically, a difference-in-differences propensity score matching is used to evaluate the outcome of a development research program in Uzbekistan between 2005 and 2010. Species crop diversity maintained by farmers before and after the project increased as a result of the interventions, showing the efficacy of the interventions promoted by the projects in terms of conservation. Furthermore, innovations provided by the program increased both household propensity of marketing and self-consumption of target fruit. However, the program’s interventions did not seem to impact significantly any of the indicators related to household livelihoods. The short time elapsed between the end of the project and the impact assessment may be too brief to capture any observable impact on livelihoods

Retrospective trial of long acting analogues detemir and degludec usage in children and adolescents to overcome glucose variability caused by dawn phenomenon and reverse dawn phenomenon

Backgraund: Children with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) need more insulin late in the evening (reverse dawn phenomenon (RDP)), and adolescents need more insulin yearly in the morning (dawn phenomenon (DP)); these cause blood glucose variability. Modern long acting insulin analogues allow to achieve satisfactory glycemic control.Aims: To study the characteristics of insulin therapy in children and adolescents with T1DM using insulin analogues detemir and degludec to overcome blood glucose variability caused by DP and RDP in different age periods.Materials and methods: We analyzed medical documents of 200 patients using detemir, admitted to pediatric endocrinology department in 2013–2019, at mean age 9.0 years (5.4; 13.0), with T1DM for 1.3 years (0.5; 3.0); and medical documents of 50 patients switched to degludec in 2018–2019 at mean age 12.0 years (10.5; 14.5) with T1DM for 3.0 years (1.5; 6.0). Before degludec they were on intensive insulin therapy with glargine (22), detemir (26), or insulin pump (2); 16 patients (32%) presented with clinical characteristics of DP, and 5 (10%) — RDP.Results: 67 children of 108 (62%) aged 1–9 years had redistribution of detemir doses to daytime; 58 adolescents of 92 (63%) aged 10–17 лет — to nighttime. Patients switched to degludec demonstrated decrease in HbA1с from 8.7% (7.8; 9.9) to 8.0% (7.4; 9.0) (р<0.001); fasting blood glucose from 9.8 mmol/l (7.4; 11.7) to 7.7 mmol/l (6.4; 8.6) (р<0.001); within-day variability from 35.2% (31.6; 40.9) to 23.5% (19.7; 28.6) (р<0.001); daily insulin dose from 0.98 U/kg/day (0.82; 1.14) to 0.87 U/kg/day (0.75; 1.07) (р=0.002). Sub-groups of patients with DP and RDP demonstrated decrease in fasting blood glucose (from 11.5 mmol/l (9.8; 13.8) to 7.5 mmol/l (6.6; 9.1) (р<0.001)), and late evening blood glucose (from 11.0 mmol/l (10.2; 11.2) to 8.0 mmol/l (6.7; 9.5) (р= 0.03)) correspondently. Achieved levels of glycemic control did not differ between sub-groups of patients initially using glargine or detemir.Conclusions: Compensation of T1DM may be complicated due to DP and RDP. Switching to degludec allowed to achieve better glycemic control and lowering of blood glucose variability caused by DP and DRP

Electronic Structure and Charge Dynamics of Huesler Alloy Fe2TiSn Probed by Infrared and Optical Spectroscopy

We report on the electrodynamics of a Heusler alloy Fe2TiSn probed over four decades in energy: from the far infrared to the ultraviolet. Our results do not support the suggestion of Kondo-lattice behavior inferred from specific heat measurements. Instead, we find a conventional Drude-like response of free carriers, with two additional absorption bands centered at around 0.1 and 0.87 eV. The latter feature can be interpreted as excitations across a pseudogap, in accord with band structure calculations.Comment: 3 pages, 4 figure
