Ukraine takes part in many international programs for the implementation of regulations in the field of economics and environmental safety based on the principles of sustainable development. Implementation problems associated with the transformation of the environment should be solved through systemic transformations in production as the main tool of the modern post-industrial society, influencing all spheres of human life. The article discusses promising directions for optimizing structural and organizational ties in investment and construction systems, which have emerged as a result of taking into account the formation of managerial influences of economic and other types of cyclicality. The fundamentals of a new tool for analytical substantiation of decision-making in managing changes in construction stakeholders – resonance-compensatory management - are outlined.Key words: investment and construction systems, resonant compensation management, theory of economic cycles, engineering, adaptive development

Signal Protein-Derived Peptides as Functional Probes and Regulators of Intracellular Signaling

    Get PDF
The functionally important regions of signal proteins participating in their specific interaction and responsible for transduction of hormonal signal into cell are rather short in length, having, as a rule, 8 to 20 amino acid residues. Synthetic peptides corresponding to these regions are able to mimic the activated form of full-size signal protein and to trigger signaling cascades in the absence of hormonal stimulus. They modulate protein-protein interaction and influence the activity of signal proteins followed by changes in their regulatory and catalytic sites. The present review is devoted to the achievements and perspectives of the study of signal protein-derived peptides and to their application as selective and effective regulators of hormonal signaling systems in vitro and in vivo. Attention is focused on the structure, biological activity, and molecular mechanisms of action of peptides, derivatives of the receptors, G protein α subunits, and the enzymes generating second messengers

The functional changes in hormone-sensitive adenylyl cyclase (AC) signaling system of the central nervous system (CNS) and periphery play a crucial role in etiology and pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus (DM). The identification of these changes in AC signaling system and the abnormalities in AC signaling network are necessary for creation of the new strategies to treat and prevent diabetic pathology. In this chapter, our data and the results of other authors on the changes in hormone-sensitive adenylyl cyclase signaling system (ACSS) in the diabetic brain and heart and on their contribution to etiology and pathogenesis of DM and its complications, diabetic cardiomyopathy in particular, are presented and analyzed, and the promising approaches to treat DM and its complications, which are based on the restoration of AC signaling cascades and their functional interaction, are discussed

The New Pharmacological Approaches for the Regulation of Functional Activity of G Protein-Coupled Receptors

    Get PDF
The G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), a large family of the receptors that specifically interact with a number of signal molecules, play a key role in the regulation of fundamental cell processes, and the pharmacological action of over 40% of drugs is carried out through GPCRs. In the last years, a significant progress was made in the creation of selective regulators of GPCRs interacting with their allosteric sites, such as the synthetic peptides corresponding to intracellular regions of receptors (GPCR-peptides) and the low-molecular weight agonists and antagonists of GPCRs. This review describes the recent results obtained by us and other authors in the development of GPCR-peptides and low-molecular weight agonists and the prospects of their use in clinics

The article formulates and scientifically substantiates the need to create mechanisms of compensatory influence on the indicators of business activity of enterprises. This is due to the desire to «secure» their functioning for the period of implementation of national restrictions that arise as a result of the adaptation of the country's economic model to the basic principles of sustainable development. The development of a scientific and methodological apparatus for managing industrial enterprises is argued, which will make it possible to select optimal management decisions for all types of resources, including natural resources. Also, this device will make it possible to predict the impact of the external and internal environment on the life of the enterprise and promptly respond to changes to ensure economic development. The prerequisites for the creation and implementation of the mechanism of resonant compensatory management at different levels - state, sectoral (macro-), regional (meso-), as well as at the level of individual organizations that are part of conglomerates (micro-) are also given.Key words: sustainable development, resonant compensation management, strategic enterprise management, theory of cycles, synergistic effect. Optical issues for the diagnostic stations for the ELI-NP compton gamma source

    Get PDF
A high brightness electron Linac is being built in the Compton Gamma Source at the ELI Nuclear Physics facility in Romania. To achieve the design luminosity, a train of 32 bunches, 16 ns spaced, with a nominal charge of 250 pC will collide with the laser beam in the interaction point. Electron beam spot size is measured with optical transition radiation (OTR) profile monitors. In order to measure the beam properties, the optical radiation detecting system must have the necessary accuracy and resolution. This paper deals with the studies of different optic configurations to achieve the magnification, resolution and accuracy in order to measure very small beam (below 30 μm) or to study the angular distribution of the OTR and therefore the energy of the beam. Several configurations of the optical detection line will be studied both with simulation tools (e.g. Zemax) and experimentally. The paper will deal also with the sensibility of optic system (in terms of depth of field, magnification and resolution) to systematic error

Clathrate hydrates as a sink of noble gases in Titan's atmosphere

We use a statistical thermodynamic approach to determine the composition of clathrate hydrates which may form from a multiple compound gas whose composition is similar to that of Titan's atmosphere. Assuming that noble gases are initially present in this gas phase, we calculate the ratios of xenon, krypton and argon to species trapped in clathrate hydrates. We find that these ratios calculated for xenon and krypton are several orders of magnitude higher than in the coexisting gas at temperature and pressure conditions close to those of Titan's present atmosphere at ground level. Furthermore we show that, by contrast, argon is poorly trapped in these ices. This trapping mechanism implies that the gas-phase is progressively depleted in xenon and krypton when the coexisting clathrate hydrates form whereas the initial abundance of argon remains almost constant. Our results are thus compatible with the deficiency of Titan's atmosphere in xenon and krypton measured by the {\it Huygens} probe during its descent on January 14, 2005. However, in order to interpret the subsolar abundance of primordial Ar also revealed by {\it Huygens}, other processes that occurred either during the formation of Titan or during its evolution must be also invoked.Comment: Astronomy & Astrophysics Letters, in pres
