The current COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in several life adjustments, including modifications to education. Online learning has become the primary mode of teaching and learning. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to determine the level of educators' overall health and its impact on their readiness for online teaching. These characteristics were evaluated using the General Health Questionnaire and the Online Teaching Readiness Questionnaire. The results indicate that the participants' general health is excellent and that they are highly prepared for online teaching. According to correlational research, the two variables are also significantly connected. A few suggestions for future research are offered at the conclusion of the publication

This study reports on a qualitative study of teachers teaching mathematics in a secondary school in Malaysia. The literature focuses on the role of teachers adopting in-depth approaches which lead to in-depth learning by students. Findings provide descriptions of factors that hinder in-depth learning of mathematics including student discipline, time constraints, and less exposure to the latest pedagogical techniques. Findings also provide teacher perspectives of pedagogical remedies that can help their students overcome the difficulties that hinder in-depth learning in secondary Mathematics classrooms such as fun learning, effective communication, problem based instruction, constructivism approach, real life application, technology integrated learning and student centred learning. Implications of the results of the study include describing a need for effort by teachers, schools, and the Ministry of Education to create and promote an environment conducive to in-depth learning in mathematics

The global COVID-19 epidemic has had a substantial effect on human lives. During the first wave of the pandemic, countries around the world were required to implement the lockdown to prevent the virus from spreading. Coping with the changes had led to mental health issues among students. Before the massive outbreak of COVID-19, many researchers examined students' mental health, but they rarely examined settings similar to those during the endemic. As a consequence of this, the objective of this research is to assess the mental health status of undergraduate students at universities, the differences in that status that exist between the genders, and the relationship that mental health status has with academic performance. The study employs the quantitative research design. Students' mental health was assessed using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) developed by Cohen et al. (1983) to measure perceived stress among students. Survey method was used to collect the data from 142 undergraduate students voluntarily from public and private universities in Malaysia. According to the findings, students have low degrees of mental health difficulties, with female students suffering more stress than their male counterparts. Furthermore, there is no relationship between students' mental health and their academic performance. A few suggestions for future research are also offered

Human lives have been significantly impacted by the global COVID-19 epidemic. Worldwide implementation of the lockdown was necessary during the first wave of the pandemic to stop the virus' spread. Students had experienced mental health problems as a result of adjusting to the changes. Many researchers looked at students' mental health before the massive COVID-19 outbreak, but they hardly ever looked at situations like those during the endemic. As a result, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the mental health status of undergraduate students at universities, the differences in that status between genders, and the connection between that status and academic performance. The results show that there are only minor mental health issues among students, with female students reporting higher levels of stress than their male counterparts. Additionally, there is no connection between students' academic performance and their mental health. Also provided are a few ideas for additional study

    No full text
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has caused disruptions in the delivery of instruction at all levels of educational institutions, whether those institutions are elementary, secondary, or postsecondary in nature. Due to this pandemic, a group of secondary school international students from Malaysia were unable to conduct face-to-face classes in Ma’had Al-Zaytun International School in Indonesia and were forced to shifts towards fully online learning mode. This study aims to explore students’ satisfaction and motivation in the online learning interaction at this international school. Based on the transaction distance theory, this study focuses on four modes of interaction, namely (i) interaction between students and teachers, (ii) interaction between students, (iii) interaction between students and learning materials, and (iv) interaction between students and interfaces. A qualitative study was employed to investigate the satisfaction and motivation of students using a semi-structured interview, class observation, and daily class report. Findings indicate that the majority of the students were satisfied with these online learning interactions and teachers were the main factors that motivated them to learn. According to this study as well, parents are also a factor that affects student participation in online learning. Students who receive encouragement and support from their parents are more likely to be satisfied with this online learning, which suggest that future research could be done to further examine.
