This article analyzes the tax data from the Spanish “Continuous Sample of Working life”, which contains an overview for each fiscal year of all income tax withholdings and prepayments on earned income, economic activities and income assignments of salaried workers, pensioners and recipients of unemployment benefits. To that end, we present the characteristics of these data; we provide a detailed statistical description for the years 2004-2009, linked to information from personal files and those of contributors to the Spanish social security system; and we highlight the opportunities for analysis of some issues related to the labour market and income distribution.tax data, MCVl, income, labour market, panel dat

The influence of previous labour market experiences on subsequent job tenure

The aim of this paper is to analyse the influence of individual’s previous labour market experiences on the duration of subsequent job matches in the Spanish labour market. The study draws on a sample of workers extracted from a Spanish administrative dataset. We find evidence on the existence of a scarring effect: the longer the time spent in non-employment since previous job separation, the shorter the duration of subsequent re-employment relationships. Other result is that workers whose previous job match terminated due to the ending of a temporary contract are very likely to come back to employment under another temporary job and have a higher probability of job termination. The exhaustion of unemployment benefits also seems to exert a scarring effect on job duration.job tenure, job separations, non-employment, employment.

Desubjectivizing discourse through the use of the periphrasis haber que + infinitive in Spanish

[EN] The present investigation analyzes the use of a construction traditionally described as impersonal: the periphrasis haber que + infinitive. This is a variable phenomenon in Spanish grammar studied as a meaningful choice based on the cognitive conceptualization of salience. The construction conveys a meaning of duty, obligation, recommendation or convenience by which the speaker accepts the situation described as unavoidable. Its use is analyzed in the texts of the Corpus Interaccional del Español, which comprises a wide range of genres and communicative situations. Implementación Y Estudio De Un Modelo Daisyworld Con Autómatas Celulares

En este trabajo se ha llevado a cabo el estudio de un modelo Daisyworld basado en un autómata celular bidimensional: el modelo de von Bloh el cual se ha implementado en código MATLAB. Se ha analizado cómo se comporta el modelo cuando se realizan modificaciones en la tasa de mutación hasta que se alcanza la fase de equilibrio. La memoria se ha estructurado del siguiente modo: 1. Introducción. Definición de la hipótesis de Gaia, del modelo Daisyworld y de un autómata celular como medio de simulación. 2. Contextualización del trabajo. Antecedentes y estado del arte. 3. Fundamentos teórico y prácticos del trabajo. Descripción del modelo original Daisyworld y del modelo de von Bloh. Discretización del modelo Daisyworld para poder aplicarlo sobre un autómata celular. 4. Aportaciones. Descripción de las mejoras del modelo de von Bloh con respecto al modelo Daisyworld original y descripción de la dinámica del modelo al variar la tasa de mutación. 5. Resultados. Descripción de los experimentos. Presentación de gráficas. 6. Conclusiones y trabajos futuros. The intersubjective production of Chilean early childhood educators: a free associative group exploration of the unconscious aspects of professional subjectivities

This thesis examines the production of early childhood (EC) educator subjectivities in Chile from a psychoanalytic perspective. Existing literature on EC professionalism has described how educators negotiate conflicting professional discourses; complying with standardised understandings of professionalism to legitimise their practice, while embracing the care dimension of EC education. While it has been suggested by critical scholarship that the EC workforce responds to these tensions by developing a unified professional identity, it is critical to foreground that EC educators constitute a complex, multidetermined type of professional subjectivity, whose experience of the struggles of the profession cannot be completely anticipated. Acknowledging the ambivalent, paradoxical and contradictory aspects of educators’ singular engagement with their practice, opens the opportunity to explore some of its underlying dynamics and motives. Drawing on the psychoanalytic concepts of the unconscious and free association, as well as my own professional interest in the potentialities of working with groups, I developed an innovative method to explore the unconscious aspects of these dynamics. I conducted free-associative group interviews with two groups of four EC educators each, using EC-related prompts like words and artefacts to stimulate their free associations and group discussions around their experience of EC practice. Free association’s tracing of transitory elements of discourse does not so much encourage the production of coherent narratives as destabilises them, thus opening a contingent space for new articulations of subjectivity. In the analysis chapters I explore the different types of discourse that emerged from particular group configurations, using the concepts of projective identification and intersubjective thirdness to make sense of the group dynamics that elicited these discourses. The intensified intersubjectivity of groups seemed to stimulate the mobilisation of unconscious affect, thus allowing to explore deep aspects of subjectivity. My analysis suggests that educators engage in the relational production of idealised professional identities, in order to find purpose and strength to navigate an emotionally demanding practice

La vivienda en España dentro de un nuevo modelo económico. El papel y los límites del sector turístico ¿hacia el declinar de un ciclo?

During years the construction sector, in general, has played an important part in the economic Spanish growth. The construction of housings has grown with intensity. The tourist activities have helped it. Now a strong disorder exists between the offer and the demand of housings. The economic current crisis presents the exhaustion of a model. Inside that panorama it is counted a high proportion of uninhabited housings and housings without selling. When analyzing that whole situation, the possibility is studied that, the housings dedicated to second residence, especially those guided to the external market, they can be a possible destination, with better expectations.Durante años la construcción ha desempeñado un papel importante en el crecimiento económico español. La edificación de viviendas ha crecido con intensidad. Las actividades turísticas han contribuido a ello. Ahora existe un fuerte desajuste entre la oferta y la demanda de viviendas. La actual crisis económica presenta el agotamiento de un modelo. Dentro de ese panorama se contabiliza una elevada proporción de viviendas deshabitadas y viviendas sin vender. Al analizar toda esa situación, se estudia la posibilidad de que, las viviendas dedicadas a segunda residencia, en especial las orientadas al mercado exterior, pueden ser un destino posible, con mejores expectativas

Los transportes terrestres en la integración hispano-portuguesa (ámbito peninsular)

En el presente la red de infraestructuras de transporte es débil entre los dos países Ibéricos, a pesar de las mejoras introducidas durante los últimos años. Sería conveniente incrementar los enlaces de vías rápidas, autovías y autopistas. En cuanto al ferrocarril las relaciones son del todo insuficientes. Aquí, dentro de las mejoras a introducir, sería de gran utilidad apostar por los trenes de Gran Velocidad. Con todo ello, se rompería una situación de aislamiento creada y mantenida durante siglos. Las áreas fronterizas podrían recuperar cierta actividad económica y social. El conjunto de los intercambios, de personas y mercancías, se incrementaría entre España y Portugal. Los dos países deben actuar en colaboración, ambos se benefician con ello. Además, las perspectivas de ampliación de la Unión Europea hacia el Este, les exige mejorar su accesibilidad hacia las áreas centrales de la Unión
