Human capital and consumation over the live cycle: a synthesis

This paper presents a life cycle model that contains the Beckers (1975) and Heckmans (1976) models as special cases. Contrary to the previous literature, the model can explain the life cycle hypothesis and the maximum in the consumption profile without appealing to the rupture of typical neoclassical assumptions and for any value of intertemporary elasticity of substitution. An estimation of the consumption demand for Spanish case shows that current earning is a significant and robust variable explaining the consumption pattern.consumption profile, life cycle hypothesis, human capital

Cartas al Papa : modelos epistolares en los manuales de correspondencia de los siglos XVI-XVII

The spreading of letter-writing and its social implication during the Modern Age resulted in the appearance of books in vernacular languages to learn how to write a letter correctly from the mid-Sixteenth century in Spain, as well as the rest of Europe. Among the varied examples offered to the readers to adapt their correspondence to the customs and conventions of this time, it’s possible to find some letters directed to the Pope, who certainly had to be one of the most demanding addressees. In these treatises the Pontiff not only appears as the absent to whom the missives are written, but he also sometimes takes the quill. This collection of model letters makes up a imaginary correspondence that must be studied from the perspective of the epistolary theory, analyzing the typologies of letters proposed, the epistolary topics and themes allowed – the matters that could be discussed directly with the Pope, and those other ones that required intermediaries –, the authorized senders and their self-representative strategies on the paper

The european painting in collections in Puebla of the XIX century: the legacy of the bourgeoisie to the society

La gran importancia que adquirió la pintura europea entre la adinerada burguesía poblana de finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX, centra la temática de este estudio, realizado a través del análisis directo de colecciones tan destacadas como la de José Luis Bello y González, entre otras. Con él, se pone de manifiesto la sensibilidad y el carácter altruista de unos coleccionistas que desarrollaron un especial interés hacia el arte en general y hacia lo europeo, en particular, legando con posterioridad, un valioso patrimonio a la sociedad poblana a través de la musealización de sus colecciones.The great importance of the European painting acquired by the moneyed bourgeoisie of Puebla in the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century summarizes the thesis statement of this study. It has been made through the direct analysis of several important collections as Jose Luis Bello and Gonzalez, among others. The text underscores the fact of the sensibility and the altruistic personality of a few collectors who developed a special interest towards Arts and specially towards European creations. A valuable heritage has been bequeathed to society in Puebla across the musealisation of these interesting collections

The artistic patronage across Mexico, the United States and Spain: the Quijano family and the painter José Arpa Perea

Motivados por el esplendor económico y el auge de la industria textil en Puebla de los Ángeles (México) a finales del siglo XIX, una serie de familias de origen español ejercerán como mecenas de arte y protectores de diferentes artistas extranjeros. Los Quijano, una de esas familias, establecerán unos profundos lazos con el pintor sevillano José Arpa Perea, relación que llevará a este último a acompañarles en sus cambios de residencia y viajes a través de los Estados Unidos y España. Fruto de este mecenazgo se conformó una interesantísima colección pictórica, hoy día dispersa a través de América y Europa.Motivated by the economic brilliance and the textile industry ́s peak in Puebla de los Ángeles (Mexico) at the end of the 19th century, several families originally from Spain will become as art patrons and protectors of different foreign artists. The Quijanos, one of these families, will establish friendship ties with the Sevillian painter Jose Arpa Perea, which will lead the latter to accompanying them in their changes of residence and trips across the United States and Spain. As a result, an interesting pictorical collection was created which is currently disseminated across America and Europe

Este estudio tiene la intención de dar a conocer la efigie cervantiva más representada, extraída de un posible retrato incluido dentro de la pintura San Pedro Nolasco redimiendo a los cautivos, ejecutada por Francisco Pacheco a finales del siglo XVI. Esta labor se llevará a cabo a través del análisis de la literatura artística que se desarrolla en Sevilla durante el siglo XIX y en concreto de El Ateneo, Periódico de Literatura Española y Extranjera, Ciencias y Bellas Artes, publicación que gracias a la figura de su director, José María Asensio y a los artículos de Antoine de Latour, será una fuente muy valiosa de información para el estudio del verdadero retrato del autor del Quijote.This study intends to show an image of the most popular personification of Cervantes, from a possible portrait shown in San Pedro Nolasco redeeming captives, painted by Francisco Pacheco. This paper will analyze his figure through the artistic literature developed in Seville during the 19th century and through El Ateneo, Periódico de Literatura Española y Extranjera, Ciencias y Bellas Artes - very valuable source of information for the study of the real portrait of the author of El Quijote. This was possible thanks to his director, Jose Maria Asensio and Antoine de Latour’s articles

En este artículo se presenta una propuesta teórico-metodológica que vincula el desarrollo, la sostenibilidad y las actividades sociales y económicas con el turismo. El objetivo es proponer un modelo de planeación de desarrollo local que propicie el uso adecuado de los recursos naturales y culturales para beneficio de la comunidad.
