    Get PDF
Sangam literature was also being published at the time when Tholkappiyam was published along with its speeches. The Tholkappiyam commentators have quoted from various texts, including the Sangam literatures, while explaining the sutras. These quotations had a great impact on the literary editions of the Sangam.  It is necessary to examine in detail the textual quotations of great importance.  In this way, this article examines the Sangam poems in the Tholkappiyam epigraphical texts at various levels. This study is intended to explain the nature and inconsistencies of quotations in the Tholkappiyam text.  Moreover, the study will help us to understand how the problem of contradiction can be solved by using versions of the text, the inconsistencies in the poetry program, and the versions of the songs in which the texts they show are contained

    Get PDF
The chapter discusses soft computing techniques for solving complex computational tasks. It highlights some of the soft computing techniques like fuzzy logic, genetic algorithm, artificial neural network, and machine learning. The classification of the remotely sensed images is always a tedious task. So, here we explain how these soft computing techniques could be used for image classification. Image classification mainly concentrates on the feature’s extraction process. The features extracted in an efficient manner improve classification accuracy. Hence, the different kinds of features and different methods for these extractions are explained. The best extracted features are selected using genetic algorithm. Various algorithms are shown and comparisons are made. Finally, the results are verified using a hypothetical case study

Common bean anthracnose is a major production constraint in bean growing regions of Ethiopia. This study aimed to determine whether foliar sprays of mancozeb, folpan and mancolaxyl or antagonistic bioagents; Trichoderma harzianum, Trichoderma viride and Pseudomonas fluorescens could reduce anthracnose symptoms and consequently, increase yield and yield components. A total of seven treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Statistical analysis showed significant differences among treatments. Anthracnose incidence, severity, infected pods per plant and the area under disease progress curve were highest in the control plots compared to the fungicide sprayed and bioagent treated seed plots. The highest percentage of infected pods per plant, 78.9 and 55 were recorded on the control and mancozeb sprayed plots respectively. The highest AUDPC value resulted in the lowest yield of 1.01 t/ha in the control plots compared to a highest yield of 3.33 t/ha from the sprayed plots with folpan and 1.79 t/ha from plots treated with Pseudomonas fluorescens. Relative yield losses of 69.67, 46.25 and 22.82% were recorded from the control, seed treated plots with P. fluorescens and sprayed plots with mancolaxyl respectively. Economic analysis revealed that the highest rate of return of 8,740 was obtained from Pseudomonas fluorescens seed treatment and the highest net benefit; 43,154 on folpan foliar spray treatment. The results of the present study support the novel possibility of using folpan foliar spray and Pseudomonas fluorescens seed treatments to decrease anthracnose symptoms in bean plants and consequently, achieve greater yield. Keywords: Bioagents; Folpan; Pseudomonas fluorescens; Mancolaxyl; seed treatmen

Bridging the yield gap in any crop cultivation should be the prime objective of any research efforts. By following the recommended production-cum-protection technologies, farmers can bridge the yield gap in any crop. As per sugarcane is concerned, the average cane yield in Tamil Nadu is 101 t/ha, which is lower than the potential yield of 203.7 t/ha resulting in yield gap of 50.42%. With this in mind, a study has been initiated to explore the social and technology dimensions and constraints involved in cane cultivation to addressing the issue of yield gap. Six blocks from Theni district under Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd were selected as study area. Information collected from sixty sugarcane farmers with semi structured interview schedule. The study revealed that majority (91.7%) of the respondents had more than 5 years of experience in sugarcane cultivation. Further, it revealed that the technologies, seed rate (83.3%), planting season (75.00%), primary tillage with mould board / disc plough (67%), gap filling, two split application of N and K (58.3%) and Organic fertilizer application  (58.3%), stubble shaving, off baring (50.0%) had adoption rate of more than 50 percentage. Major constraints faced by cent per cent of the respondents were; non availability of labour and high labour cost, prolonged drought and water scarcity, low procuring cost per by sugar factory, yield reduction due to continuous cultivation of sugarcane. The novelty and importance of the study is that it mainly analysis all the sugarcane production and protection technologies from seed rate to harvest in three point continuum viz., fully adopted, partially adopted and not adopted

We come across hospitals and non-profit organizations that care for people with paralysis who have experienced all or portion of their physique being incapacitated by the paralyzing attack. Due to a lack of motor coordination by their mind, these persons are typically unable to communicate their requirements because they can speak clearly or use sign language. In such a case, we suggest a system that enables a disabled person to move any area of his body capable of moving to broadcast a text on the LCD. This method also addresses the circumstance in which the patient cannot be attended to in person and instead sends an SMS message using GSM. By detecting the user part's tilt direction, our suggested system operates. As a result, patients can communicate with physicians, therapists, or their loved ones at home or work over the web. Case-specific data, such as heart rate, must be continuously reported in health centers. The suggested method tracks the body of the case's pulse rate and other comparable data. For instance, photoplethysmography is used to assess heart rate. The decoded periodic data is transmitted continually via a Microcontroller coupled to a transmitting module. The croaker's cabin contains a receiver device that obtains and deciphers data as well as constantly exhibits it on Graphical interfaces viewable on the laptop. As a result, the croaker can monitor and handle multiple situations at once
