National Ethnic Problem in Foreign Tamil Magazines

    Get PDF
Tamils have been constantly trying and struggling to maintain their presence in foreign countries. They published a large number of Tamil magazines in the countries they went to. When they try to connect with the political and socioeconomic environment there, they sometimes encounter a compatible environment, and many times they do not. Tamils, who have their own identity, are subjected to various forms of ethnic problems in the neighbourhood even after migrating due to the war situation in their motherland. As hard as it is for immigrants to maintain their presence in foreign countries, it is as difficult to live through the national oppressions there and unite the Tamils there. They have started magazines, one of the artistic activities of the Tamil people, and are also using it as a platform to bring together the global Tamils and bring the problems faced there to the world. This article brings to light the lives of foreign Tamils by bringing out the foreign Tamil journals, which are constantly recording the memories of their motherland where they have escaped to foreign countries and are unable to lead a free life

Identities of Transgender People in Ancient Tamil Literature

    Get PDF
In human society, it is natural to see two genders, male and female. It is somewhat surprising that the work of transgender people, who can be called the third gender, is somewhat surprising. In the Mahabharatam, the story of the birth of a transsexual is extended. In nature's creation, we find these people incarnated as transsexuals in practical life. The records of transgenders can be found in abundance in Sangam literary grammar. Transgender people, who have been marginalized in society, are denied the right to participate in public. Transgenders living in small groups in the human community have been ridiculed as "identityless." This is the situation today. In the Sangam literary records, their identity has been recognized socially. It can be said that their contribution to the level of education is low. Transgenders, who are marginalized people, are more likely to be rejected at all levels. Since they lacked the right to education, there was no context in grammatical and literary fiction in which the pedis (hermaphrodites), the transgenders, could register their right to life. No one comes forward to help in public, fearing that if they raise their voice for them, they will be respected as untouchables in society. This denial is also a contemporary phenomenon. As a result, it is necessary to compile how third-gender identities are recorded in the literary field. Transgenders, also known as hermaphrodites, exist as records in literary life. The location of such people's lives is clearly visible in grammatical and literary fiction

    Get PDF
As evidenced by the multiplicity of the Tamil race, with its rich language and primitive landscape, it has many human personalities within itself. In particular, in order to organize the changing social disciplines, it not only holds on to the poets of the epic period to face external pressures and various doctrinal upheavals but also approaches them, scrutinizes them, provides new messages, and preserves the form of thought from changing. In a society that has become monocultural, a woman burns her modesty to overcome hunger. Manimekalai, the descendent of Kovalan, who had Kannagi and the ascetic Madhavi as her mothers and who considered art to be the equivalent of life, shook this monoculture on that very day itself. She was shaken by unceasing grace. This hardened and stoned society shed a lot, but it was a single culture that blossomed, ripened, became a seed, and spread. It is not only because of Manimekalai's sufferings but also because of society's unavoidable great compassion that Manimekalai is still regarded as inevitable even today. On this basis, this study is a descriptive one as it compares women's sufferings, feminist ideas, and Tamil traditions with Manimekalai, an incomparable story. Manimekalai did not stop offering motherhood to all with her eternal mercy also, with her Amudha Surabhi (a vessel that gives inexhaustible food), she removed the hunger pangs of thousands of people. People like Manimekalai do not stop with these gestures. On the contrary, the purpose of this study is to explain why she continues to be established as an exemplary woman in the land of Tamil
