Technology has important role in educational program especially in the 21st century. It could be the big question today: what impact does technology give in the teaching and learning process in the classroom today? Chai(2005) makes the claims that a teacher has the opportunity toteach less, learn more. She argues that teaching is not just delivering knowledge. Teaching is about communicating: When I teach,I communicate with my students and I encourage them to communicate with me. I want to know their opinion about things, their hopes and fears, how they feel and how they reach to some situations. It is clear that the main factor in education is a teacher, beacuse a teacher plays an important role in learning process. Without teacher, the world will be lost. Teachers are facing more complex and difficult challenges of their works, for examples: an increasing diversity of students and parents, higher demands of education quality, the higher standard of teaching and learning process and outcomes, etc. Therefore, compared to the previous era, a professional teacher today should have wide range of teacher competencies, such as teaching and managing class effectively; building, developing, and managing the relationship with students and school community; using technology for more effective communication and instruction.Thus, creating a comfortable classroom for students is important for 21st century teaching

    In the era of good governance the government has to have competent performance in serving the public . However, there are still many government organizations that have low performance . Whereas previously civil servants have been educated and trained . This can be seen from the performance of the Board of Education and Training of Central Java is still not optimal in producing competent personnel . This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of performance consists of four dimensions of performance , productivity , responsiveness , and accountability Responbilitas . Identifying the factors that support and hinder performance and formulate solutions that have been and will be done in improving the performance . This study used a qualitative descriptive approach and techniques as well as using a purposive sample taxonomic analysis . Based on the results of the discussion of research in Education and Training Agency of Central Java is known conclusion that the performance of the Board of Education and Training of Central Java is good in terms of quantity but the quality is not optimal . Judging from productivity , it can be quite good for achieving the target quantity is almost fulfilled . Judging from the responsiveness , still it is less because not capture the public 's aspirations . Judging from responbilitas , already based on the PP 101 of 2000 . Dililhat of accountability , it is good enough but no pertenggungjawaban to the public . Many factors affect the performance of the Board of Education and Training of Central Java Province which consists of factors supporting and inhibiting factors .     TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION IN A SECONDARY VOCATIONAL EFL CLASSROOM: PROCESS, CHALLENGES AND PERCEPTION

    Technology has an important role in an educational program especially in the 21st century. The advancement of technology has given opportunities and a space for teachers to improve their teaching and learning process in the classroom. The teachers’ roles are important in the process of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) integration because the use of ICT in the classrooms depends on the teachers’ attitude to the concept of ICT. In other words, the success of technology integration in the classroom requires the teachers to have a positive belief so they are willing to improve their technical skill and knowledge. Thus, this research firstly examine the process of implementing technology integration in an EFL classroom by the English teachers at a vocational high school for agriculture. Second, this research identified the dominancy of challenges in implementing the ICT integration encountered by the teachers and students’ perceptions towards of ICT integration in the teaching and learning process. In this study, descriptive qualitative approach was employed by conducting interview, questioner and classroom observation. As the result of the research indicated that in integrating the ICT in teaching and learning process, teachers and students have positive perception towards ICT integration therefore they are willing to improve their technological skill and knowledge. Second, they have to overcome some challenges in time allocation and technical problem in classroom. The results of this study indicated that teachers and students have positive perception towards ICT integration in thier teaching and learning process.; Teknologi memiliki peran penting dalam program pendidikan terutama di abad ke-21. Kemajuan teknologi telah memberi peluang dan ruang bagi guru untuk meningkatkan proses belajar mengajar di kelas. Peran para guru penting dalam proses integrasi Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) karena penggunaan TIK di ruang kelas tergantung pada sikap guru terhadap konsep TIK. Dengan kata lain, keberhasilan integrasi teknologi di dalam kelas menuntut guru untuk memiliki keyakinan positif sehingga mereka bersedia untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan teknis mereka. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini pertama-tama meneliti proses penerapan integrasi teknologi di ruang kelas EFL oleh para guru bahasa Inggris di sekolah menengah kejuruan untuk pertanian. Kedua, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi tantangan yang paling dominan mereka hadapi dalam mengimplementasikan integrasi TIK yang dihadapi oleh persepsi guru dan siswa terhadap integrasi TIK dalam proses belajar mengajar. Dalam penelitian ini, pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif digunakan dengan melakukan wawancara, kuesioner dan observasi kelas. Sebagai hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam mengintegrasikan TIK dalam proses belajar mengajar, guru dan siswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap integrasi TIK karena itu mereka bersedia untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan teknologi mereka. Kedua, mereka harus mengatasi beberapa tantangan dalam alokasi waktu dan masalah teknis di kelas. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru dan siswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap integrasi TIK dalam proses belajar mengajar mereka

    Role of Chlamydia Trachomatis infection in young men : what we need to know?

    Chlamydia Trachomatis infections are the most common sexually transmitted bacterial infections worldwide: Because Chlamydia Trachomatis infections are asymptomatic in approximately 50% of infected men and 70% of infected women, there is a high risk for reproductive tract sequelae and high diffusion of the disease. Recently some studies improved the comprehension of this infection and its natural history highlighting the fact that severe complications can be avoided only by a proper early diagnosis and appropriate treatment. We reviewed the literature related to the new findings in the treatment of Chlamydia Trachomatis infection in sexually active young men. Articles from 1960-2014 were identified through a Medline search using the keywords "Chlamydia Trachomatis" combined with "urethritis", "epididymitis", "prostatitis" "treatment" or "management". Several studies highlighted that Chlamidia are only metabolically active in the host cell and therefore only targeted intracellularly by antibiotics. However, even if the standard therapy includes intracellularly-accumulated antibiotics such as tetracyclines or macrolides, recent evidences highlight the role of quinolones. In particular recent studies hilight the role of prulifloxacin in the treatment of chronic prostatitis patients for improving patient's quality of life and decreasing the IL-8 level. However, there is a need for future studies and to diffuse the knowledge about Chlamydia Trachomatis especially in urological clinical practice, in order to reduce the risk of diagnosis failure

    Aqueous ammonia abatement on Pt- and Ru-modified TiO2 : selectivity effects of the metal nanoparticles deposition method

    A series of TiO2 \u2013 based photocatalysts obtained by deposition of Pt nanoparticles (NPs) has been tested in the photocatalytic decomposition of aqueous ammonia under UVA irradiation. Two main deposition routes were employed, i.e. (i) the deposition of surfactant-stabilized preformed metal NPs and (ii) a modified version of the well-known deposition-precipitation technique, employing urea as precipitating agent. The effects that the deposition route and the amount of deposited metal have on both ammonia conversion (XNH3) and selectivity (SY) towards the different N-containing products (Y = N2, NO2\u2013, NO3\u2013) have been investigated systematically, in relation to the morphological distribution of NPs on TiO2, as evidenced by HR-TEM analysis. The combination of Pt (0.8 wt.%) with a relatively low amount of Ru NPs (0.1 wt.%) as co-catalysts, both deposited on TiO2 under optimized conditions, results in an exceptional stabilization of nitrite ions (SNO2\u2013 ~ 70%), from which N2, the most desired ammonia oxidation product, might subsequently be obtained catalytically

    Elucidation of key odorants and sensory propertiesof five different extra virgin olive oils from Turkey by GC-MS-Olfactometry

    The present study investigates the aroma, key odorants and sensory profile of extra virgin olive oils from five well-known Turkish cultivars. The aromatic extract obtained by the purge and trap extraction system, according to a sensory analysis, resembled the odor of olive oil. A total of 22, 21, 18, 22 and 21 aroma-active compounds were detected in the extracts of Ayvalık, Memecik, Gemlik, Sarı Ulak and Beylik olive oils, respectively. The results show that Ayvalık has the highest flavor dilution (FD) value of 1024 with hexanal, (E)-2-hexenal and α-farnesene. Memecik has the highest FD value at 2048 with (E)-2-hexenal. Gemlik has the highest FD value of 1024 with (Z)-3-hexenyl acetate, (E)-2-hexen-1-ol and α-farnesene. Sarı Ulak has the highest FD value at 2048 with (E)-2-hexenal. Beylik has the highest FD value of 2048 with (E)-2-hexenal and hexanal. All cultivars represent the characteristic green, cut-grass, fruity odor notes

    Understanding the nature of "superhard graphite"

    Numerous experiments showed that on cold compression graphite transforms into a new superhard and transparent allotrope. Several structures with different topologies have been proposed for this phase. While experimental data are consistent with these models, the only way to solve this puzzle is to find which structure is kinetically easiest to form. Using state-of-the-art molecular-dynamics transition path sampling simulations, we investigate kinetic pathways of the pressure-induced transformation of graphite to various superhard candidate structures. Unlike hitherto applied methods for elucidating nature of superhard graphite, transition path sampling realistically models nucleation events necessary for physically meaningful transformation kinetics. We demonstrate that nucleation mechanism and kinetics lead to MM-carbon as the final product. WW-carbon, initially competitor to MM-carbon, is ruled out by phase growth. Bct-C4_4 structure is not expected to be produced by cold compression due to less probable nucleation and higher barrier of formation
