    A Novel Construction of Multi-group Decodable Space-Time Block Codes

    Complex Orthogonal Design (COD) codes are known to have the lowest detection complexity among Space-Time Block Codes (STBCs). However, the rate of square COD codes decreases exponentially with the number of transmit antennas. The Quasi-Orthogonal Design (QOD) codes emerged to provide a compromise between rate and complexity as they offer higher rates compared to COD codes at the expense of an increase of decoding complexity through partially relaxing the orthogonality conditions. The QOD codes were then generalized with the so called g-symbol and g-group decodable STBCs where the number of orthogonal groups of symbols is no longer restricted to two as in the QOD case. However, the adopted approach for the construction of such codes is based on sufficient but not necessary conditions which may limit the achievable rates for any number of orthogonal groups. In this paper, we limit ourselves to the case of Unitary Weight (UW)-g-group decodable STBCs for 2^a transmit antennas where the weight matrices are required to be single thread matrices with non-zero entries in {1,-1,j,-j} and address the problem of finding the highest achievable rate for any number of orthogonal groups. This special type of weight matrices guarantees full symbol-wise diversity and subsumes a wide range of existing codes in the literature. We show that in this case an exhaustive search can be applied to find the maximum achievable rates for UW-g-group decodable STBCs with g>1. For this purpose, we extend our previously proposed approach for constructing UW-2-group decodable STBCs based on necessary and sufficient conditions to the case of UW-g-group decodable STBCs in a recursive manner.Comment: 12 pages, and 5 tables, accepted for publication in IEEE transactions on communication

    Security Implications of Fog Computing on the Internet of Things

    Recently, the use of IoT devices and sensors has been rapidly increased which also caused data generation (information and logs), bandwidth usage, and related phenomena to be increased. To our best knowledge, a standard definition for the integration of fog computing with IoT is emerging now. This integration will bring many opportunities for the researchers, especially while building cyber-security related solutions. In this study, we surveyed about the integration of fog computing with IoT and its implications. Our goal was to find out and emphasize problems, specifically security related problems that arise with the employment of fog computing by IoT.     A New Low-Complexity Decodable Rate-1 Full-Diversity 4 x 4 STBC with Nonvanishing Determinants

    Space-time coding techniques have become common-place in wireless communication standards as they provide an effective way to mitigate the fading phenomena inherent in wireless channels. However, the use of Space-Time Block Codes (STBCs) increases significantly the optimal detection complexity at the receiver unless the low complexity decodability property is taken into consideration in the STBC design. In this letter we propose a new low-complexity decodable rate-1 full-diversity 4 x 4 STBC. We provide an analytical proof that the proposed code has the Non-Vanishing-Determinant (NVD) property, a property that can be exploited through the use of adaptive modulation which changes the transmission rate according to the wireless channel quality. We compare the proposed code to existing low-complexity decodable rate-1 full-diversity 4 x 4 STBCs in terms of performance over quasi-static Rayleigh fading channels, detection complexity and Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR). Our code is found to provide the best performance and the smallest PAPR which is that of the used QAM constellation at the expense of a slight increase in detection complexity w.r.t. certain previous codes but this will only penalize the proposed code for high-order QAM constellations.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, and 1 table; IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, Vol. 10, No. 8, AUGUST 201

    Sulit menentukan pilihan jurusan kuliah sering dialami oleh siswa-siswi kelas XII, hal yang sama juga terjadi pada siswa-siswi kelas XII di SMA Neg.1 Sendana. Salah satu faktor yang menjadi penyebab hal tersebut adalah kurangnya atau tidak adanya materi tentang bimbingan karir khususnya pengetahuan mengenai informasi pemilihan jurusan di perguruan tinggi. Akibatnya, banyak siswa-siswi yang memilih jurusan tidak berdasarkan minat, bakat dan prestasi belajaranya. Guru sebagai pendidik memiliki peran yang cukup peting dalam membimbing siswa-siswi selama proses pembelajaran di sekolah. Tak terkecuali guru bimbingan dan konseling (BK) yang terlibat langsung dengan siswa-siswi juga berperan penting dalam membimbing dan mengarahkan minat dan bakat siswa. Untuk mengetahui minat, bakat dan prestasi belajar yang dimiliki diperlukan suatu sistem sebagai alternatif yang dapat dijadikan alat bantu dan bimbingan bagi siswa siswi kelas XII dalam menentukan pilihannya. Sistem yang dimaksud adalah sistem pendukung keputusan (SPK). Sehingga, dengan adanya sistem tersebut dapat mengurangi kesulitan siswa dalam mengambil keputusan karena telah disediakannya informasi jurusan yang sesuai dalam sistem. Ketepatan dalam pemilihan jurusan juga membantu mengurangi angka pengangguran terpelajar yang didominasi lulusan universitas yang mencapai peningkatan sebanyak 33,5% dari data tahun 2017. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan logika fuzzy dan simple addtive weighting (SAW). Variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah nilai akademik, minat mata pelajaran, dan tes kecerdasan. Teachers as educators have an important role in guiding students during the learning process at school. The guidance and counseling teachers (BK) who are directly involved with students also play an important role in guiding and directing the interests and talents of students. To find out the interests, talents and learning achievements possessed, a system is needed as an alternative that can be used as a tool and guidance for class XII students in determining their choices. The system in question is a decision support system (SPK). So, this system can reduce students' difficulties in making decisions because the appropriate department information has been provided in the system. The accuracy in selecting majors also helps reduce the number of educated unemployment, which is dominated by university graduates, which reached an increase of 33.5% from the 2017 data. In this study the authors used fuzzy logic and simple addtive weighting (SAW). The variables used in this study were academic scores, subject interest, and intelligence tests.     Penelitian ini menggunakan Analisis Regresi Linear berganda yang diperoleh persamaan hasil Y= 374291739,635+-240278830,520+0,798 Berdasarkan hasil analisis secara parsial, Tingkat Suku Bunga berpengaruh negatif tidak signifikan terhadap penyaluran kredit, kemudian modal kerja memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap penyaluran kredit. Berdasarkan hasil analisis secara simultan, Tingkat Suku Bunga, dan Modal Kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Penyaluran Kredit pada KSP Kopdit Harmoni jaya.  Variasi pengaruh dari kedua variabel bebas dapat diketahui berdasarkan R Square sebesar 0,351 atau persentase sebesar 35% variasi Penyaluran Kredit pada KSP Kopdit Harmoni Jaya dipengaruhi oleh jumlah Modal Kerja.     AN INVESTIGATION OF INTERACTION AMONG WILLINGNESS TO COMMUNICATE, ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AND L2- SELF GUIDES

    In this quantitative study, which utilized focus group survey method, the relationship among anxiety (specifically speaking anxiety in classroom), ideal L2-self and willingness to communicate was explored. The participants of the study were selected using convenience sampling model, and were composed of 81 volunteer students in total (26 females, 55 males) at a state university in Turkey in 2017-2018 academic year. The data were collected via; a) Ideal L2-self Scale (Dörnyei & Taguchi, 2010). The internal consistency of the scale was α = .90; b) Willingness to Communicate Scale (WTC) (Mccroskey, 1992) The internal consistency of the scale was Α = .94; and c) Foreign language speaking anxiety scale (FLSAS) by Huang (2004). The data were analyzed using the SPSS 21.00 software, and Pearson Correlation Analysis and Regression Analysis were conducted to find out whether Speaking Anxiety, Ideal L2-Self and Participants’ GPA predict WTC. The results revealed that Ideal L2-Self didn’t really affect students WTC (Beta=0.192, t=1.648; p=0.104>0.05). However, students’ GPA significantly affected their WTC (Beta=0.243, t=2.087; p=0.040<0.05)

    This research aims to discuss the implementation of gender equality in Indonesia. The research method is a qualitative type through literature study by applying content analysis. This research discusses the meaning, gender equality of Alquran perspective, and implementation in Indonesia. This research concludes that in the fields of education, law, family and government policies, gender equality gas been implemented. However, the issue of gender equality has not yet become mainstream so that it affecs the case of divorce in Indonesia. This research is only limited to the implementation of gender equality in Indonesia in several fields or sectors so that further research is needed in other fields. This research recommends the socialization of the concept of gender equality in the framework of Alquran to both men and women so that people get a complate understanding and create harmony

    A New Family of Low-Complexity Decodable STBCs for Four Transmit Antennas

    In this paper we propose a new construction method for rate-1 Fast-Group-Decodable (FGD) Space-Time-Block Codes (STBC)s for 2^a transmit antennas. We focus on the case of a=2 and we show that the new FGD rate-1 code has the lowest worst-case decoding complexity among existing comparable STBCs. The coding gain of the new rate-1 code is then optimized through constellation stretching and proved to be constant irrespective of the underlying QAM constellation prior to normalization. In a second step, we propose a new rate-2 STBC that multiplexes two of our rate-1 codes by the means of a unitary matrix. A compromise between rate and complexity is then obtained through puncturing our rate-2 code giving rise to a new rate-3/2 code. The proposed codes are compared to existing codes in the literature and simulation results show that our rate-3/2 code has a lower average decoding complexity while our rate-2 code maintains its lower average decoding complexity in the low SNR region at the expense of a small performance loss.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures and 1 table.     Industrial networks and IIoT: Now and future trends

    Connectivity is the one word summary for Industry 4.0 revolution. The importance of Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial IoT (IIoT) have been increased dramatically with the rise of industrialization and industry 4.0. As new opportunities bring their own challenges, with the massive interconnected devices of the IIoT, cyber security of those networks and privacy of their users have become an important aspect. Specifically, intrusion detection for industrial networks (IIoT) has great importance. For instance, it is a key factor in improving the safe operation of the smart grid systems yet protecting the privacy of the consumers at the same time. In the same manner, data streaming is a valid option when the analysis is to be pushed from the cloud to the fog for industrial networks to provide agile response, since it brings the advantage of fast action on intrusion detection and also can buy time for intrusion mitigation. In order to dive deep in industrial networks, basic ground needs to be settled. Hence, this chapter serves in this manner, by presenting basic and emerging technologies along with ideas and discussions: First, an introduction of semiconductor evolution is provided along with the up-to-date hi-tech wired/wireless communication solutions for industrial networks. This is followed by a thorough representation of future trends in industrial environments. More importantly, enabling technologies for industrial networks is also presented. Finally, the chapter is concluded with a summary of the presentations along with future projections of IIoT networks
