Social image and identity in stand-up comedy

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la importancia del trabajo de la imagen en un género como es el monólogo cómico o stand-up comedy. Como acto dialógico interactivo con el público que asiste a este tipo de espectáculo, los sujetos que intervienen en él estarán sometidos a normas de interacción sociales y, por tanto, a la consideración de este concepto de imagen social que desarrollaremos. De igual modo, esta consideración de la imagen social como medio de construcción de la identidad cómica influirá en la creación del texto retórico, cuya meta es conseguir la aceptación por parte de la audiencia de esa identidad del cómico y de su humorThe present work aims to analyze the importance of the face work in a genre such as the stand-up comedy. Una evaluación de las prestaciones sociales en la lucha contra la pobreza en Andalucía y España: un análisis comparativo

En este trabajo se intenta analizar el papel que representa el Sistema de Garantía de Ingresos español en la lucha contra la pobreza en Andalucía y en España, utilizándose para ello la Encuesta de Presupuestos Familia-res 1990/1991. En este sentido, se reflexiona sobre la conveniencia de dicha encuesta para llevar a cabo la evaluación del Sistema de Garantía y se presenta un esquema metodológico a seguir para proceder a dicha evaluación. Conductas autoestimulatorias: aplicación de sobrecorrección y reforzamiento en un caso de deficiencia mental

El tratamiento fue progresivamente efectivo requiriendo en principio una guía física total, luego parcial y al final bastando con la instrucción verbal. Por último, el apoyo terapéutico de un coterapeuta, auxiliar de un aula, demostró la facilidad de aplicación del tratamiento, sus buenos resultados y las interesantes posibilidades con vista a la terapia aplicada en la escuela.Over-correction (positive practice or combination of verbal instructions and physical guide) proved to be an effective method for the modification of a mentally handicapped person´s behaviour. In this paper, the effectiveness of positive reinforcement for the reduction of the behavioural disorder is also analyzed. Reinforcement was administered after a time criterion without behaviour was reached. Treatment was progressively efective, having required initially a complete physical guide, that was replaced by a partial guide and, finally, by verbal instructions. The therapeutical help of a classroom assistant acting as cotherapist during the final phases demonstrated the easiness of treatment implementation, good results and interesting possibilities in relation to its applications at school

Conservation laws, classical symmetries and exact solutions of the generalized KdV-Burgers-Kuramoto equation

For a generalized KdV-Burgers-Kuramoto equation we have studied conservation laws by using the multiplier method, and investigated its first-level and second level potential systems. Furthermore, the Lie point symmetries of the equation and the Lie point symmetries associated with the conserved vectors are determined. We obtain travellingwave reductions depending on the form of an arbitrary function. We present some explicit solutions: soliton solutions, kinks and antikinks

This thesis work is a research prior to obtaining the Bachelor’s degree in social Communication, whose main objective is the realization and production of a documentary video of the musical group call Huasipungo or Huasipungo cultural Center as a communication tool that opens the window to allow discussion concerning the revaluation of Popular Ecuadorian Culture. This paper has as theoretical support the Popular Communication approach from different forms of expression, which help build the imagination of popular culture through alternative media. It starts from an analysis of the mass media as entities massification and globalization as ways of living and how these facts affect the construction of popular culture, because through the mass they have generated processes that away from cultural realities which are developed in the country and building a reality from everyday life, coexistence, development of people.La presente tesis, es un trabajo de investigación previo a la obtención del título de la licenciatura en comunicación social, cuyo objetivo principal es la realización y producción de un video documental del grupo musical Huasipungo o centro cultural Huasipungo como una herramienta de comunicación que permita abrir la ventana para la discusión respecto a la revalorización de la cultura popular ecuatoriana. The application of a multi-component programme on a set of disruptive behaviours in a case of mental retardation

This paper analyses the application of a multi-modal treatment to a complex set of disruptive behaviours in a case of mental retardation. The patient was a twenty-four-year-old woman, with a moderate level of deficiency and a long history of institutionalisation. The multi-modal treatment combined extinction with instructions, response cost, differential reinforcement of other behaviours and overcorrection, all of which were applied by trained co-therapists from the contexts in which the behaviour problems first appeared (residence and occupational workshop). Findings show the treatment to be effective in both contexts. The discussion refers to the implications of the results, the importance of each technique and the need for a prolonged follow-up in this type of intervention.El presente trabajo analiza la aplicación de un tratamiento multimodal sobre un conjunto complejo de conductas disruptivas en un caso de deficiencia mental. Se trata de una mujer de 24 años de edad, con un nivel de deficiencia moderado y.una larga historia de institucionalización. El tratamiento multimodal consistió en la combinación de la extinción con instrucciones, costo de respuesta, reforzamiento de otras conductas y sobrecorrección, aplicado por coterapeutas entrenados procedentes de los contextos (residencia y taller ocupacional) en los que se desatan las conductas problema. Los resultados mostraron la efectividad del tratamiento en ambos contextos. Se discute la implicación de los resultados, la importancia de cada una de las técnicas y la necesidad de un seguimiento prolongado en este tipo de intervenciones

Direct and indirect influences of objective socioeconomic position on adolescent health: the mediating roles of subjective socioeconomic status and lifestyles

The use of composite indices and subjective measures to evaluate socioeconomic position, taking into account the effect of inequalities on adolescent health-related behaviors, can contribute to understanding the effect of inequalities on health during adolescence. The aim of this study was to examine the direct and indirect contribution of objective and subjective socioeconomic factors in a broad range of health and lifestyles outcomes. The data come from a representative sample of adolescents (N = 15,340; M age = 13.69) of the Health Behavior in School-aged Children study in Spain. Structural equation modeling was used for data analysis. A global index for evaluating objective socioeconomic position predicted both health and healthy lifestyles. Subjective socioeconomic status mediated the relationship between objective socioeconomic position and health but did not have a significant effect on healthy lifestyles when objective indicators were considered. Lastly, fit indices of the multiple-mediator model—including the direct effect of objective socioeconomic position on health and its indirect effects through the subjective perception of wealth and lifestyles—explained 28.7% of global health variance. Interventions aimed at reducing the impact of health inequalities should address, in addition to material deprivation, the psychological and behavioral consequences of feeling poor.Consejería de Economía, Innovación y Ciencia de la Junta de Andalucía P11—SEJ—800

Tuning structural control devices with genetic algorithms for a floating wind turbine

Floating offshore wind turbines present several advantages over land-based and bottom-fixed offshore wind turbines, but they are also exposed to strong environmental loads, especially wind and waves, which generate vibrations in the structure and compromise their efficiency and useful life. In this paper, a simplified theoretical model of a barge-type 5MW floating offshore wind turbine is developed and validated with reference software FAST, and used to study the effects of structural control. A tuned mass damper (TMD) is tuned using genetic algorithms for free decay different pitch angles of the platform, which could simulate different heights of waves impacting the turbine, with the goal of reducing the fore-aft tower top displacement. The proposed structural control improves the dynamic response of the system, with a vibration suppression rate of 34.9%.Peer Reviewe
