Hiring a service is a moment of great importance once it builds the perception of the service value and quality. Some companies may deal with that, assuming a greater importance when elaborating their service contracts. Usually law professional people elaborate these documents, but this may include legal attributes, not considering the service to the customers, as well as the customers’ point of view. In times of increasing on customer focus, market and service orientation, a question can be posted: to what extent company contracts show service or customer orientation? This paper compares the service orientation degree for Cable TV contracts from five companies, based on a theoretical model developed to this purpose. From a conceptual model for servant contract, four dimensions were assessed: physical aspects, reasonableness, intelligibility and customer focus. After subject evaluation by eight judges, analyzing the validation index (CVI), it was found that the contracts show moderate orientation to serve. Furthermore, results show that the five surveyed company’s contracts showed a similar overall performance, i.e., none stood out over the other. The study presents important practical efficacy, because it can guide the Cable TV companies to adopt improvement strategies in elaboration of contracts, so that the contractual instruments be would reviewed of clauses that promote the sensation of better service to their customer. Thus, this article directs the manager to the aspect that deserves more attention, i.e, which dimensions require further refinement and direction to serv

Critical temperature for the two-dimensional attractive Hubbard Model

    Get PDF
The critical temperature for the attractive Hubbard model on a square lattice is determined from the analysis of two independent quantities, the helicity modulus, ρs\rho_s, and the pairing correlation function, PsP_s. These quantities have been calculated through Quantum Monte Carlo simulations for lattices up to 18×1818\times 18, and for several densities, in the intermediate-coupling regime. Imposing the universal-jump condition for an accurately calculated ρs\rho_s, together with thorough finite-size scaling analyses (in the spirit of the phenomenological renormalization group) of PsP_s, suggests that TcT_c is considerably higher than hitherto assumed.Comment: 5 pages, 6 figures. Field-induced Ordering in Critical Antiferromagnets

Transfer-matrix scaling methods have been used to study critical properties of field-induced phase transitions of two distinct two-dimensional antiferromagnets with discrete-symmetry order parameters: triangular-lattice Ising systems (TIAF) and the square-lattice three-state Potts model (SPAF-3). Our main findings are summarised as follows. For TIAF, we have shown that the critical line leaves the zero-temperature, zero -field fixed point at a finite angle. Our best estimate of the slope at the origin is (dTc/dH)T=H=0=4.74±0.15(dT_c/dH)_{T=H=0} = 4.74 \pm 0.15. For SPAF-3 we provided evidence that the zero-field correlation length diverges as Ο(T→0,H=0)≃exp⁥(a/Tx)\xi(T \to 0, H=0) \simeq \exp (a/T^{x}), with x=1.08±0.13x=1.08 \pm 0.13, through analysis of the critical curve at H≠0H \neq 0 plus crossover arguments. For SPAF-3 we have also ascertained that the conformal anomaly and decay-of-correlations exponent behave as: (a) H=0: c=1,η=1/3c=1, \eta=1/3; (b) H≠0:c=1/2,η=1/4H \neq 0: c=1/2, \eta=1/4.Comment: RevTex, 7 pages, 4 eps figures, to be published in Phys. From January 2011 to December 2014 were diagnosed 9 outbreaks of Oestrus ovis infection in small ruminants (Outbreaks A-I) in the State of Bahia. The incidence of oestrosis in sheep in outbreak A was 0.5% (1/200), in B 2.2% (2/90), in C 0.8% (1/120), in D 2% (2/100), in E 1% (1/100), in F 3% (1/33), in G 0.6% (1/150), in H 2.5% (5/200), and in I 11.42% (8/70), and 5% (2/40) in goats. Clinical signs associated with parasitism were wheezing, sneezing followed by catarrhal nasal secretion, some restlessness, excessive head movement and walking in circles. The breasts and turbinates were hyperemic, with mucosal edema and presence of O. ovis larvae. All larvae collected from the turbinates ranged from the first to the third stage of development. Some L3 larvae collected at necropsy were incubated and the gray colored Imago with dark abdomen obtained from the pupae measured about 10mm. A descriptive analysis of the climatic conditions was carried out; in the year of investigation the incidence of O. ovis infection has grown (p<0.001), and the lowest mean minimum temperature (p<0.001) caused the development the O. ovis fly, so that there was an introduction of an increased number of these flies into the sheep and goat flocks in state of Bahia with the ideal climatic conditions for their perpetuation

New results from the NUMEN project

NUMEN aims at accessing experimentally driven information on Nuclear Matrix Elements (NME) involved in the half-life of the neutrinoless double beta decay (0ÎœÎČÎČ), by high-accuracy measurements of the cross sections of Heavy Ion (HI) induced Double Charge Exchange (DCE) reactions. First evidence about the possibility to get quantitative information about NME from experiments is found for the (18O,18Ne) and (20Ne,20O) reactions. Moreover, to infer the neutrino average masses from the possible measurement of the half-life of 0ÎœÎČÎČ decay, the knowledge of the NME is a crucial aspect. The key tools for this project are the high resolution Superconducting Cyclotron beams and the MAGNEX magnetic spectrometer at INFN Laboratori Nazionali del Sud in Catania (Italy). The measured cross sections are extremely low, limiting the present exploration to few selected isotopes of interest in the context of typically low-yield experimental runs. A major upgrade of the LNS facility is foreseen in order to increase the experimental yield of at least two orders of magnitude, thus making feasible a systematic study of all the cases of interest. peerReviewe
