    Indicators and instruments to assess components of disability in community-dwelling older adults: a systematic review

    The epidemiological demands of aging point to the need for characterizing older adults regarding health and disability. This systematic review aims to summarize the indicators (instruments) identifying different components of disability as a result of aging exposition in community-dwelling older adults, considering the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health framework. Taking the PRISMA 2020 recommendations as a reference, studies with community-dwelling older adults, reporting the development and/or age disability modifications were included. Two reviewers analyzed the observational studies searched in the MEDLINE, CINAHL, Web of Science, Scopus, and Embase databases. Of the 137 potentially eligible studies, 49 were included in this review. Several indicators (instruments) demonstrated older adults’ disabilities according to the different domains of the ICF. Objective measures assessed Body Structures, Body Functions, and Environmental Factors and included handgrip strength (dynamometry, n = 8), cognitive function (Mini-Mental State examination, n = 7), gait speed (walk test, n = 6), and endurance (Chair stand-test, n = 4). Self-reported measures assessed Activities and Participation, but not the Body Structures, and included the basic and instrumental activities of daily living (ADL) (the Katz Index of ADL, n = 4 studies, the Lawton and Brody Instrumental ADL, n = 4 studies). The summary of the measures gathered can guide researchers and health professionals to select indicators (instruments) to assess and monitor older adults’ disabilities resulting from aging exposition, to support the development of new wearables, and to provide improvements to the existing ones, allowing the tailored assessment of different health and disability dimensions.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

    Evaluation of the Structure-Activity Relationship of Hemoproteins through Physicochemical Studies: Hemoglobins as a Prototype of Biosensor

    In the present work, we have studied a group of prerequisites in terms of “structure-function relationship” of hemoproteins, especially hemoglobins, emphasizing the role of the heme and its chemical environment in the biochemical and physicochemical properties of the biomolecule. We have discussed the ferrous center and its properties as coordination center; the macrocyclic ligands, especially the porphyrins; the esterochemical and electronic properties of the iron-porphyrins (heme groups); and the interaction between heme groups and globins, which is related to several redox and oligomeric properties of hemoprotein systems and its potential applications with respect to novel materials. One of the main uses of hemoglobins in new materials is also discussed, which is its employment as a biosensor. Therefore, we have discussed the development of novel biosensors based on hemoglobins and their physico-chemical properties as well as on the main molecules of biological relevance that have been detected by these biosensors, such as hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), nitric oxide (NO), and cholesterol, among others. Indeed, several important biomolecules and biological processes can be detected and/or evaluated by devices that present hemoglobins as leading chemical components.     Clay body wrap with microcurrent: effects in central adiposity

    Introduction Increased fat mass is becoming more prevalent in women and its accumulation in the abdominal region can lead to numerous health risks such as diabetes mellitus. The clay body wrap using compounds such as green clay, green tea and magnesium sulfate, in addition to microcurrent, may reduce abdominal fat mass and minimize or prevent numerous health problems. Objective This study aims at measuring the influence of the clay body wrap with microcurrent and aerobic exercise on abdominal fat. Methods Nineteen female patients, randomized into intervention (n = 10) and control (n = 9) groups, were evaluated using ultrasound for visceral and subcutaneous abdominal fat, calipers and abdominal region perimeter for subcutaneous fat and bioimpedance for weight, fat mass percentage and muscular mass. During 10 sessions (5 weeks, twice a week) both groups performed aerobic exercise in a cycloergometer and a clay body wrap with microcurrent was applied to the intervention group. Results When comparing both groups after 5 weeks of protocol, there was a significant decrease in the subcutaneous fat around left anterior superior iliac spine in the intervention group (ρ = 0.026 for a confidence interval 95%). When comparing initial and final abdominal fat in the intervention group, measured by ultrasound (subcutaneous and visceral fat) and by skinfold (subcutaneous fat), we detected a significant abdominal fat reduction. Conclusion This study demonstrated that the clay body wrap used with microcurrent and aerobic exercise can have a positive effect on central fat reduction

    A pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar como ocorre as trocas de conhecimentos na rede formada pelos funcionários da gerência de solicitação de bens de uma empresa de petróleo e gás sob a ótica da análise de redes sociais. Buscou-se investigar a centralidade que existe entre os funcionários; a qualidade de comunicação por meio da análise da densidade; a coesão entre os atores dos grupos e subgrupos dessa rede; bem como quais atores possuem posição central ou periférica na rede. Como método de pesquisa foi utilizado o estudo de caso único. Conclui-se que, o fato de se enxergar não mais o indivíduo e sim o grupo de indivíduos permite uma compreensão mais aprofundada do contexto ao qual o grupo está inserido

Bagaiamana terjadinya peristiwa malpraktek yang menyebabkan hilangnya nyawa seseorang yang dilakukan oleh Chiropractic First dihubungkan dengan Undang- Undang Nomor 36 Tahun 2014 Tentang Tenaga Kesehatan jo Undang-Undang nomor 36 tahun 2009 Tentang Kesehatan ? Bagaimana upaya penyelesaian atas terjadinya peristiwa malpraktek yang menyebabkan hilangnya nyawa seseorang yang dilakukan oleh Chiropractic First dihubungkan dengan Undang-Undang Nomor 36 Tahun 2014 Tentang Tenaga Kesehatan jo Undang-Undang nomor 36 tahun 2009 Tentang Kesehatan? Metode penelitian dalam skripsi ini menggunakan spesifikasi penelitian deskriptif analitis dengan pendekatan yuridis normatif yaitu: menggambarkan dan menguraikan secara sistematika semua permasalahan, kemudian menganalisis yang bertitik tolak pada peraturan yang ada, sebagai Undang-Undang yang berlaku, dan dilanjutkan dengan penelitian kepustakaan dan penelitian ke lapangan serta teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi kepustakaan dan studi lapangan, selanjutnya data yang sudah diperoleh di analisis secara yuridis kualitatif untuk mengungkap realita yang ada berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh berupa penjelasan mengenai permasalahan yang dibahas. Kesimpulan dari skripsi ini menunjukkan bahwa : pertama ; Landasan hukum Chiropractic First dalam menjalankan kegiatan pengobatan terapi tulang telah melanggar aturan yang telah dibuat oleh pemerintah tentang pengobatan tradisional yang diatur pada Pasal 59, Pasal 60 dan Pasal 61 Undang-Undang Nomor 36 Tahun 2009 tentang Kesehatan. Dijelaskan bahwa setiap orang yang melakukan pelayanan kesehatan tradisional seperti Chiropractic harus mendapatkan izin dari lembaga kesehatan yang berwenang yaitu Dinas Kesehatan setempat, dan tenaga kesehatan yang dipekerjakan di tempat pelayanan kesehatan tersebut wajib memiliki izin yang sah dan wajib memiliki keterampilan terlebih dahulu seusai Pasal 46 Undang-Undang Nomor 36 Tahun 2014 Tentang Tenaga Kesehatan, kedua; Terjadinya malpraktek yang menyebabkan hilangnya nyawa seseorang pada klinik kesehatan chiripractic first disebabkan karena hak-hak pasien dalam mendapatkan hak pengobatan tidak terpenuhi dengan baik. Adanya kesalahan diagnosa yang menyebabkan salahnya penanganan yang dilakukan oleh tenaga kesehatan asing yang bekerja di klinik tersebut yang ternyata telah melanggar Pasal 54 Undang-Undang Nomor 36 Tahun 2014 Tentang Tenaga Kesehatan karena tidak memiliki Izin dan Surat Tanda Registrasi (STR). , ketiga; Upaya penyelesaian pemerintah atas terjadinya peristiwa malpraktek yang menyebabkan hilangnya nyawa seseorang adalah pengawasan yang ketat bagi pelaksana kegiatan kesehatan dan tenaga kesehatan yaitu dengan cara memberikan pembinaan dan pengawasan mutu dan juga pendayagunaan kepada tenaga kesehatan yang ada di Indonesia khususnya tenaga kesehatan dalam bidang pengobatan tradisional. Sesuai dengan Pasal 21 Undang-undang Nomor 36 Tahun 2009 Tentang kesehatan dan Pasal 80, Pasal 81 Undang-Undang Nomor 36 Tahun 2014 Tentang Tenaga Kesehatan.     PROCESSO HISTÓRICO DE OCUPAÇÃO DO MORRO SANTA TEREZINHA, EM FORTALEZA: RISCO AMBIENTAL VERSUS URBANIZAÇÃO

    O crescimento urbano desordenado na cidade de Fortaleza contribuiu para o surgimento das áreas de risco ambiental. O presente artigo trata especificamente do Morro Santa Terezinha, localizado entre os bairros Vicente Pinzón e Cais do Porto e faz parte de uma das 89 áreas de risco da capital. O objetivo da pesquisa é avaliar a influência da urbanização para as ocorrências de desastres ambientais na localidade. A análise foi baseada em relatos de episódios coletados na hemeroteca do jornal O Povo e na Defesa Civil de Fortaleza. Verificou-se que as construções irregulares nas encostas do morro vinculadas aos períodos de chuvas intensas ocasionou o aumento dos riscos naturais na área. A partir desse resultado conclui-se que, as ocorrências de desastres ambientais naturais aumentaram à medida que a urbanização se expandiu afetando diretamente a população que reside na localidade

    A variáveis relacionadas com a deslocamento do centro de pressão têm sido utilizadas como indicadores de erro e efetividade dos mecanismos de controlo postural. Entre as diferentes formas para aceder a este tipo de variáveis, o sistema Biodex Balance System (Biodex MedicalSystems, Shirley, NY) (BBS) destaca-se pela sua facilidade de utilização em contexto clínico. Tendo em consideração o potencial deste sistema para acompanhar a evolução face a reabilitação, torna-se relevante avaliar a repetibilidade das variáveis obtidas e a sua relação com o número de medições.
