The importance of target audiences in the design of training actions
This paper describes the process of definition, conceptualization and implementation of a business course addressed for logistic and industrial managers. This course was designed using a blended methodology, with training in classroom, visits to enterprises and self- study, supported by an eLearning platform. The aim of this work is to create an opportunity to reflect about the decisions and strategies implemented and point future developments
Combined flavor symmetry violation and lepton number violation in neutrino physics
Heavy singlet neutrinos admit Majorana masses which are not possible for the
Standard Model particles. This suggest new possibilities for generating the
masses and mixing angles of light neutrinos. We present a model of neutrino
physics which combines the source of lepton number violation with the flavor
symmetry responsible for the hierarchy in the charged lepton and quark sector.
This is accomplished by giving the scalar field effecting the lepton number
violation a nonzero charge under the horizontal flavor symmetry. We find an
economical model which is consistent with the measured values of the
atmospheric and solar neutrino mass-squares and mixing angles.Comment: 6 pages, no figures (published version

New methodology to measure the dynamics of ocular wave front aberrations during small amplitude changes of accommodation
We present a methodology to measure the systematic changes of aberrations induced by small changes in amplitude of accommodation. We use a method similar the one used in electrophysiology, where a periodic stimulus is presented to the eye and many periods (epochs) of the stimulus are averaged. Using this technique we have measured changes in higher order aberrations from 0.006μm to 0.02μm and correlated them with amplitude changes of accommodation as small as 0.14D. These small changes would have been undetectable without epoch averaging. The correlation coefficients of Zernike terms with defocus were calculated, demonstrating higher values of correlation for epoch averaging. The accurate monitoring of defocus at the start of the accommodation response has shown some interesting trends that may be related with the mechanisms behind accommodation
Hydrogen storage in the form of metal hydrides
Reversible reactions between hydrogen and such materials as iron/titanium and magnesium/ nickel alloy may provide a means for storing hydrogen fuel. A demonstration model of an iron/titanium hydride storage bed is described. Hydrogen from the hydride storage bed powers a converted gasoline electric generator
Naturally graded Zinbiel algebras with nilindex n - 3
We present the classification of a subclass of n-dimensional naturally graded Zinbiel
algebras. This subclass has the nilindex n − 3 and the characteristic sequence (n − 3, 2, 1). In fact,
this result completes the classification of naturally graded Zinbiel algebras of nilindex n − 3
Leibniz Algebras Whose Semisimple Part is Related to sl2
In this paper we identify the structure of complex finite-dimensional Leibniz algebras
with associated Lie algebras sl1
2⊕sl2
2⊕· · ·⊕sls
2⊕R, where R is a solvable radical. The classifications
of such Leibniz algebras in the cases dimR = 2, 3 and dimI 6= 3 have been obtained. Moreover, we
classify Leibniz algebras with L/I ∼= sl1
