Social Knowledge Management From The Social Responsibility Of The University For The Promotion Of Sustainable Development
The aim is to present approaches on social knowledge management from the perspective of the social responsibility of the University to propose strategies aimed at the promotion of sustainable local development. The social management of the knowledge (GSC) should be one of the central functions of the institutions of education (IE), because the attribute work with and on the knowledge is precisely the raison to be and what distinguishes them from other forms of social organization. The development of cognitive abilities, the search for novel approach problems, participation in the resolution of social problems, the development of collective forms of work and, in a Word, become agencies that manage knowledge responsibly is probably one of the ways that has been lost in the IE for internal and external reasons. In the first sense, dominated two options in dispute: the pursuit of knowledge in itself or knowledge subject to results. On the outside, between the subordination to a technical job market and contribution to innovations that meet probable social background. The above, recognizing that around knowledge of power for personal interest reasons and/or group, confrontations occur on political and economic affairs. But, in sum, these disputes in societies like ours - underdeveloped and lagging - in knowledge may be a veil to not move in directions that combine knowledge with problem solving through responsible for knowledge management forms
Strategies towards sustainability environmental from the local areas and the University
El propósito del presente trabajo es explorar un posible arreglo socioambiental pensado desde lo local que propicie el desarrollo sustentable, por medio del privilegio de la articulación de lo social (ciudadanía y educación) con el medio ambiente (capacidad de renovación). El planteamiento central es que ante un modelo social dominante que es insustentable, en el sentido que refuerza la desigualdad socioeconómica y el deterioro ambiental; se demanda pensar y actuar en formas novedosas e integradoras de lo social con la natural y del presente con el futuro para hacer posible sentar bases para un desarrollo sustentable de largo plazo. Para tal fin, se formula un arreglo que articule lo social (ciudadanía y educación) con el medio ambiente (capacidad de renovación) desde ámbitos locales, por medio de estrategias de acción gestionadas socialmente
CAFE: Calar Alto Fiber-fed Echelle spectrograph
We present here CAFE, the Calar Alto Fiber-fed Echelle spectrograph, a new
instrument built at the Centro Astronomico Hispano Alem\'an (CAHA). CAFE is a
single fiber, high-resolution (70000) spectrograph, covering the
wavelength range between 3650-9800\AA. It was built on the basis of the common
design for Echelle spectrographs. Its main aim is to measure radial velocities
of stellar objects up to 13-14 mag with a precision as good as a few
tens of . To achieve this goal the design was simplified at maximum,
removing all possible movable components, the central wavelength is fixed, so
the wavelentgth coverage; no filter wheel, one slit and so on, with a
particular care taken in the thermal and mechanical stability. The instrument
is fully operational and publically accessible at the 2.2m telescope of the
Calar Alto Observatory.
In this article we describe (i) the design, summarizing its manufacturing
phase; (ii) characterize the main properties of the instrument; (iii) describe
the reduction pipeline; and (iv) show the results from the first light and
commissioning runs. The preliminar results indicate that the instrument fulfill
the specifications and it can achieve the foreseen goals. In particular, they
show that the instrument is more efficient than anticipated, reaching a
20 for a stellar object as faint as 14.5 mag in 2700s
integration time. The instrument is a wonderful machine for exoplanetary
research (by studying large samples of possible systems cotaining massive
planets), galactic dynamics (high precise radial velocities in moving groups or

Triplet Dimerization Crossover Driven by Magnetic Frustration in In2VO5
In2VO5, containing magnetically frustrated zig-zag chains, shows a remarkable
magnetic crossover at 120 K between paramagnetic states with positive (17 K)
and negative (-70 K) Weiss temperatures. Magnetic moment and entropy data show
that the V4+ S = 1/2 spins condense into S = 1 triplet dimers below the
crossover. A further freezing of the antiferromagnetically coupled triplet
dimers into a global singlet state is observed at 2.5 K, with no long range
magnetic order down to 0.42 K and in fields up to 9 T. No structural V-V
dimerization is observed by high-resolution X-ray diffraction down to 10 K, but
a subtle lattice anomaly evidences a spin-lattice coupling in the triplet dimer
state. This is assigned to longitudinal oxygen displacement modes that reduce
frustration within the chains and so couple to the spin dimer fluctuations.Comment: submitted for publicatio
The AMS-02 RICH Imager Prototype - In-Beam Tests with 20 GeV/c per Nucleon Ions -
A prototype of the AMS Cherenkov imager (RICH) has been tested at CERN by
means of a low intensity 20 GeV/c per nucleon ion beam obtained by
fragmentation of a primary beam of Pb ions. Data have been collected with a
single beam setting, over the range of nuclear charges 2<Z<~45 in various beam
conditions and using different radiators. The charge Z and velocity beta

The Ring Imaging Cherenkov detector (RICH) of the AMS experiment
The Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) experiment to be installed on the
International Space Station (ISS) will be equipped with a proximity focusing
Ring Imaging Cherenkov (RICH) detector for measuring the electric charge and
velocity of the charged cosmic particles. A RICH prototype consisting of 96
photomultiplier units, including a piece of the conical reflector, was built
and its performance evaluated with ion beam data. Preliminary results of the
in-beam tests performed with ion fragments resulting from collisions of a 158
GeV/c/nuc primary beam of Indium ions (CERN SPS) on a Pb target are reported.
The collected data included tests to the final front-end electronics and to
different aerogel radiators. Cherenkov rings for a large range of charged
nuclei and with reflected photons were observed. The data analysis confirms the
design goals. Charge separation up to Fe and velocity resolution of the order

Search for new resonant states in 10C and 11C and their impact on the cosmological lithium problem
The observed primordial 7Li abundance in metal-poor halo stars is found to be
lower than its Big-Bang nucleosynthesis (BBN) calculated value by a factor of
approximately three. Some recent works suggested the possibility that this
discrepancy originates from missing resonant reactions which would destroy the
7Be, parent of 7Li. The most promising candidate resonances which were found
include a possibly missed 1- or 2- narrow state around 15 MeV in the compound
nucleus 10C formed by 7Be+3He and a state close to 7.8 MeV in the compound
nucleus 11C formed by 7Be+4He. In this work, we studied the high excitation
energy region of 10C and the low excitation energy region in 11C via the
reactions 10B(3He,t)10C and 11B(3He,t)11C, respectively, at the incident energy
of 35 MeV. Our results for 10C do not support 7Be+3He as a possible solution
for the 7Li problem. Concerning 11C results, the data show no new resonances in
the excitation energy region of interest and this excludes 7Be+4He reaction

Phenotypic Characteristics and Copy Number Variants in a Cohort of Colombian Patients with VACTERL Association
VACTERL association (OMIM 192350) is a heterogeneous clinical condition characterized by congenital structural defects that include at least 3 of the following features: vertebral abnormalities, anal atresia, heart defects, tracheoesophageal fistula, renal malformations, and limb defects. The nonrandom occurrence of these malformations and some familial cases suggest a possible association with genetic factors such as chromosomal alterations, gene mutations, and inherited syndromes such as Fanconi anemia (FA). In this study, the clinical phenotype and its relationship with the presence of chromosomal abnormalities and FA were evaluated in 18 patients with VACTERL association. For this, a G-banded karyotype, array-comparative genomic hybridization, and chromosomal fragility test for FA were performed. All patients (10 female and 8 male) showed a broad clinical spectrum: 13 (72.2%) had vertebral abnormalities, 8 (44.4%) had anal atresia, 14 (77.8%) had heart defects, 8 (44.4%) had esophageal atresia, 10 (55.6%) had renal abnormalities, and 10 (55.6%) had limb defects. Chromosomal abnormalities and FA were ruled out. In 2 cases, the finding of microalterations, namely del(15)(q11.2) and dup(17)(q12), explained the phenotype; in 8 cases, copy number variations were classified as variants of unknown significance and as not yet described in VACTERL. These variants comprise genes related to important cellular functions and embryonic development
