ABSTRACT Teacher education programs are essentially institution-based. Their students need to be exposed more to the realities of school and community. Internship, practice of teaching, practical activities and supplementary educational activities are better planned and organized more systematically. Malaysian government announced that in 2020 all the primary and secondary school teachers must be graduated. In accordance to that, Sultan Idris Education University is offering the distance learning education to all school teachers. The frame work of the teaching involves e-learning. E-education involves e-teaching and e-learning along with the various administrative and strategic measures needed to support teaching and learning in an internet environment. It will incorporate a local, regional, and national view of education. This paper will be analyzing the e-teaching which involves distance learning in Sultan Idris Education University. Keywords: E-Teaching, E-Learning, online Learning, UPSI, E-Education Introduction It is well recognized that the overall quality in education mainly depends on the quality of teachers. A program aiming for professional preparation of teachers is essential for imparting quality education. Teaching is an art which can be inculcated through a series of well designed activities in respect of education and training of teachers and is equally valid for professional preparation of teacher educators. Malaysian government enhancing the school teacher's education in a quality way by several workshops and trainings. To upgrade the teacher's qualification, government has encouraged the school teachers to pursue higher degrees while they are teaching. Following this, Sultan Idris Educational University got an opportunity to offer the distance learning degrees to the school teachers. The teachers are selected for various subjects and the classes are taught by face to face on weekends

Hikayat Seri Rama: Establishing the source

Purpose of the study: The main aim of this paper is to establish the Tamil literary sources of the Hikayat Seri Rama. Various recensions of the Hikayat Seri Rama demonstrate the close identity between one text and the other which would seem to indicate that all these texts were apparently derived from some older versions of the Rama story, which was the common source of all the recensions. Methodology: The methodology employed in this article is qualitative in nature. It is library research based on the existing published materials. Four steps of Hermeneutics approaches have been employed to produce findings which are objective in nature. This research is aimed to contribute to the existing body of knowledge about the sources of Hikayat Seri Rama. Main findings: This study would enable us to appreciate the close similarity of motifs and episodes between HSR and the Rama story in Tamil tradition. The Rama story in Tamil folklore itself stands out as a great proof to manifest that the Tamil sources are predominant in Hikayat Seri Rama compared to any other sources. Applications of this study: This study will contribute to the existing body of knowledge and will enable one to appreciate the close cultural relationship between the Tamil and the Malay literary traditions. Hence, it provides a platform for the positive cultural as well as civilizational dialog between the two communities. Additionally, this article can also contribute to the comparative studies involving Indian and Malay literature. Novelty/Originality of this study: Literature reviews clearly show that there is no other similar study to this work conducted elsewhere. Hence, the originality of this study is established. Previous studies failed establish the source for the Hikayat Seri Rama as most of those studies ignored Tamil literary sources. A Study on Evaluating the Pedagogical Knowledge of School Teachers

Education plays an important role in a society. Each and every country around the globe has its own education system to educate their own society. In this way, Malaysia has its own education system. Here, students undergo education in different stages such as, kindergarten (pre-school), primary school (elementary), secondary school (high), and college or university. Of these, kindergarten, primary and secondary educations are in schools. School education is basic for a child. Hence, teacher role is very essential in teaching and learning process. Sultan Idris Education University is No.1 Education University which produces a lot of teachers and are been posted as teachers in various parts of the country. Thus posted teachers teach in secondary schools in Malaysia. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the pedagogy knowledge of the secondary school teachers using testing and evaluation theory. The study is limited to the Perak state teachers of Malaysia. The researcher has used the descriptive research method for this study. Questionnaire is prepared according to the essential pedagogical knowledge for the teachers based on testing and evaluation theory. The data are collected through observing the classroom teaching of the teachers. The findings of the study are described in this article

An evaluation of teachers opinions about the servant leadership behaviours of school principals: A critical review

This is a review of 'An Evaluation of Teachers' Opinions about the Servant Leadership Behaviours of School Principals' published in Educational Process: International Journal. That article delves into how school teachers perceive the implementation of the 'Servant Leadership Behaviours' concept by school principals, where teachers serve under these principals' supervision. It also identifies the level of this concept's application in primary and secondary schools. The article has strengths and weaknesses. The concept of servant leadership by school principals is well-explained and it effectively employs methodology (snowball sampling and content analysis). It systematises data, succeeds in answering the research questions, and its references are compatible with bibliographic rules. But the article lacks a research problem statement or review of past studies, has a shallow and unorganised introduction, and only vaguely distinguishes data analysis from its overall conclusion. Speciation of rare-earth metal complexes in ionic liquids : a multiple-technique approach

The dissolution process of metal complexes in ionic liquids was investigated by a multiple-technique approach to reveal the solvate species of the metal in solution. The task-specific ionic liquid betainium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([Hbet][Tf2N]) is able to dissolve stoichiometric amounts of the oxides of the rare-earth elements. The crystal structures of the compounds [Eu-2(bet)(8)(H2O)(4)][Tf2N](6), [Eu-2(bet)(8)(H2O)(2)][Tf2N](6)center dot 2H(2)O, and [Y-2(bet)(6)(H2O)(4)][Tf2N](6) were found to consist of dimers. These rare-earth complexes are well soluble in the ionic liquids [Hbet][Tf2N] and [C(4)mim]-[Tf2N] (C(4)mim = 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium). The speciation of the metal complexes after dissolution in these ionic liquids was investigated by luminescence spectroscopy, H-1, C-13, and Y-89 NMR spectroscopy, and by the synchrotron techniques EXAFS (extended X-ray absorption fine structure) and HEXS (high-energy X-ray scattering). The combination of these complementary analytical techniques reveals that the cationic dimers decompose into monomers after dissolution of the complexes in the ionic liquids. Deeper insight into the solution processes of metal compounds is desirable for applications of ionic liquids in the field of electrochemistry, catalysis, and materials chemistry
