Aniline is a common carsinogenic chemical in industrial wastewater. Aniline above 2 mg/L may harm living organisms in the water that have been contaminated with aniline. The method that can be used is the bulk liquid membrane, which is currently effective in the recovery of aniline from the water. Aniline was transported initially the 4 x 10−5 M feed solution to the FeCl3 in the receiving phase is 90.17% in 90 minutes, feed phase at pH 6, stirring rate 180 rpm, and time equilibrium 15 minutes, while remaining at feed phase is 12.42%. The result from FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) characterization indicate the presence of aniline in receiving phase, absorption characteristic of C-N and N-H in IR spectrum in the stripping phase.     Keywords: Bulk liquid membrane, aniline, transport, UV-Vis spectrophotometr

Background and objectives: Little is known about the clinical profile and outcome of myasthenia gravis in Pakistan. The objective of this study is to review the clinical characteristics of patients with myasthenia gravis in Pakistan, and the outcome of investigations and treatment. Methods: The study comprised a retrospective review of charts of patients diagnosed with myasthenia gravis at Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan, over a period of 16 years from 1987 to 2003. The following features were reviewed: (i) clinical presentation, (ii) investigations especially nerve conduction studies, acetylcholine receptor antibodies, and imaging studies of the thorax, (iii) treatments administered (including thymectomy). Data analysis was done using Excel sheets. Results:Of the 83 patients, 51(61.4%) were males, whereas 32 (38.6%) were females. The age range was from 12 to 81 years, mean age of 43.7 years (SD± 18.2). In the 60 years plus group, there were three times as many males as compared to females. Limb weakness was noted in 58 (69.9%), ocular symptoms in 57(68.7%), and oropharyngeal symptoms in 54(65.1%) patients. Three (3.6%) presented in a state of myasthenic crisis. Tensilon test was performed in 34 patients and was positive in 31(91.2%), repetitive nerve conduction studies (RNS) were performed in 37 patients and was positive in 26(70.3%), acetylcholine receptor antibodies were done in 60 patients, and were positive in 55(91.7%). Thymic enlargement was seen in 28 out of 43 patients who underwent CT-Scan/MRI studies of the thorax. Besides pyridostigmine, most patients received immunosuppressive therapy with either steroids or azathioprine or both. The thymectomy was performed in 44 patients. Conclusion:The general disease pattern of MG, as noted in our series, appears to follow a similar pattern as noted worldwide. However, this retrospective and hospital-based study has its limitations, and more prospective and epidemiological studies are needed

In recent years, circular polarized antennas become more important in wireless communication systems because of the ability of radiating circular polarized wave. In this paper, the design of single-feed square-aperture antenna with and without reflector towards the circular polarized antenna performance is presented. The antenna made of square ground plane, square-aperture and a probing strip feed by using microstrip transmission line. The design has achieved a target axial ratio, which is less than 3 dB at frequency range of 4 GHz to 6.5 GHz. When a square ground plane reflector is integrated on the CP antenna for the unidirectional pattern, the presented antenna enhanced gain about 8 dB

This paper examines the moderating effect of experience and size of fund towards socially responsible investment (SRI).A survey was conducted to get the responses of fund managers, and data were analysed using a multi-group approach of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM).At intentional level, there was a significant moderating effect on the relationship between attitudes and caring ethical climate towards an intention to SRI among less experienced fund managers. There was a significant moderating effect on the relationship between subjective norms and perceived behavioural control towards an intention to SRI among more experienced fund managers. There was also a significant moderating effect on the relationship between subjective norms and caring ethical climate towards an intention to SRI among small-sized fund managers. At behavioural level, there was a significant moderating effect on the relationship between moral intensity and SRI behaviour among less experienced fund managers. There was also a significant moderating effect on the relationship between moral intensity and caring ethical climate on SRI behaviour among bigger-sized fund managers. This paper conduits the literature gap by expanding the understanding on the moderating impact of experience and size of fund towards SRI, provides insights to policy makers in carrying out appropriate talent development strategies in accumulating the support of fund managers towards SRI-related initiatives in the capital market, and reveals the potential contribution of fund manager talent management in sustainable development through SRI. The paper offers vision on fund manager talent management to forefront the progress of SRI in emerging economies

The basic idea behind this research project paper is to identify several issues. The first one will be on the purpose of the establishment of the Judges' Code of Ethic 1994 and the problems within the 1994 Code itself which render it to be difficult in term of enforcement. Secondly, to look through the new Judges' Code of Ethic 2009 which had replaced the 1994 code, whether or not this new code had solved all the problems faced by the Judges' Code of Ethic 1994. In our findings, it was proven that the 1994 code do have several problems as well as lacuna which also can be the main cause why it has not been used or referred. Comparatively, eventhough the new 2009 Code of Ethic had covered some of these problems, the new code itself do still have problems which need to be looked into. This project paper manages to compare Malaysia Judges' Code of Ethic with the Judges' Code of Ethic from other countries such as India, Australia and United States. In order to make this particular Judges' Code of Ethic workable and implementable, we have gathered some recommendations and suggestions from people who are expert in relation to this matter. In conclusion, all the problems and lacuna identified under the 1994 and 2009 Judges' Code of Ethic need to be considered and reviewed so that we can came out with a more comprehensive and absolute Code of Ethic for the judges
