    The influence of low-temperature surface induction on evacuation, pump-out hole sealing and thermal performance of composite edge-sealed vacuum insulated glazing

    Hermeticity of vacuum edge-sealing materials are one of the paramount requirements, specifically, to the evolution of energy-efficient smart windows and solar thermal evacuated flat plate collectors. This study reports the design, construction and performance of high-vacuum glazing fabrication system and vacuum insulated glazing (VIG). Experimental and theoretical investigations for the development of vacuum edgeseal made of Sn-Pb-Zn-Sb-AlTiSiCu composite in the proportion ratio of 56:39:3:1:1 by % (CS-186) are presented. Experimental investigations of the seven constructed VIG samples, each of size 300mm·300mm·4 mm, showed that increasing the hot-plate surface temperatures improved the cavity vacuum pressure whilst expediting the pump-out hole sealing process but also increases temperature induced stresses. Successful pump-out hole sealing process of VIG attained at the hot-plate set point temperature of 50˚C and the approximate cavity pressure of 0.042 Pa was achieved. An experimentally and theoretically validated finite volume model (FVM) was utilised. The centre-of-pane and total thermal transmittance values are calculated to be 0.91 Wm-2K-1 and 1.05 Wm-2K-1, respectively for the VIG. FVM results predicted that by reducing the width of vacuum edge seal and emissivity of coatings the thermal performance of the VIG is improved

    Investigation of 3:1 and 2:1 internal resonances in fluid conveying microbeam

    Microbeams are widely used in micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). These systems are alternatives to piezo-resistive sensors because of their high sensitivity and low power consumption. Unlike with the classical theory of continuous media, in order to see the effects of the system being micro-sized, the effect of micro-structure was added to the system based on the modified couple stress theory (MCST) for fluid conveying microbeam. By using Hamilton’s principle, the nonlinear equations of motion for the fluid conveying micro beam were obtained. Microbeam was investigated under electrical field and resting on an elastic foundation. It is assumed that the fluid velocity changes harmonically around a constant velocity and that the electrical field force changes harmonically with time. Approximate solutions of the system were achieved by using the multiple time scale method. 3:1 and 2:1 internal resonance cases were investigated.     Employability and marketability of the graduates of Islamic studies in Islamic banking and finance: Malaysian experience

    Purpose: This paper attempts to explore the role played by Islamic Studies in the areas of Islamic economical and financial education at Higher Educational Institutions for employability and marketability of the graduates; particularly, in facing the challenges of the issues of globalization. This desirable change of trend in teaching and learning is closely linked with the emergence of Islamic Banking systems and institutions, which are widespread in Islamic Countries and have even entered into the majority non-Muslim countries. Design/methodology/approach: This conceptual-based paper critically analyzes Marketability of qualified students in terms of attaining employment and their integration in the mainstream society. This paper then shows how much the Islamization project in Malaysia has impact on the development of the study of Islamic Banking and Finance; with increasing the job opportunities in this filed; how much function the government has instilled, if the state policy is not involved in, can there be still a field of interest? Findings: This paper finds that Islamic studies including Islamic banking and finance have least percentage of unemployed graduates. In another word, the globalization resulted that the graduates of these studies have much chance to be employed than others. Research limitations/implications: This paper assumes that the outcomes of the paper can be applied to newly established institutions for betterment of Islamic studies in banking and finance graduates. However, this may not be applicable to all Islamic studies individually. Practical implications: This paper shows that the area of Islamic economics, banking and finance would benefit by introducing soft and hard skills as well as double degree or major programs in Islamic studies. Originality/value: This paper contributes to the researchers, academicians, Banking and Finance institutions to provide more opportunities to increase the employability and marketability of the graduates in Higher Education. As Malaysia, particularly, has accomplished a remarkable growth in developing Islamic financial institutions besides the conventional banking system, Islamic Banking system and its various institutions required workers and officials with background and competencies in Islamic studies.     Intrazeolite phototopotaxy. EXAFS analysis of precursor 8{W(CO)6}-Na56Y and photooxidation products 16(WO3)-Na56Y and 28(WO3)-Na56Y

    The intrazeolite photooxidation chemistry of alpha-cage encapsulated hexacarbonyltungsten(0) in Na56Y with O2, denoted n{W(CO)6}-Na56Y/O2/hv, which has previously been shown to provide a novel synthetic pathway to alpha-cage located tungsten(VI) oxide, denoted n(WO3)-Na56Y, is now the subject of an extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) analysis. The EXAFS data of a precursor 8{W(CO)6}Na56Y, which contains on average one W(CO)6 per alpha-cage shows that the W(CO)6 guest maintains its structural integrity with only minor observable perturbations of the skeletal WC and ligand CO bonds compared to those found for the same molecule in the free state. The EXAFS analysis results for the photoxidation products 16(WO3)-Na56Y and 28(WO3)-Na56Y are very similar and display the presence of two terminal tungsten-oxygen bonds (1.75-1.77 angstrom) and two bridging tungsten-oxide bonds (1.94-1.95 angstrom), together with a short distance to a second tungsten (3.24-3.30 angstrom). This bond length and coordination number information for n = 16 and 28 samples is best interpreted in terms of the formation of a single kind of tungsten trioxide dimer unit (WO3)2, most likely interacting with extraframework Na+ cations, denoted ZONa...O2W(mu-O)2WO2...NaOZ. In conjunction with earlier chemical and spectroscopic information on this system, the EXAFS data support the contention that 16(WO3)-Na56Y contains a uniform array of single size and shape tungsten (VI) oxide dimers (WO3)2 housed in the 13-angstrom supercages of the zeolite Y host. The sequential addition of WO3 units to the 16(WO3)-Na56Y sample appears to increase the (WO3)2 dimer population, causing a buildup of alpha-cage encapsulated dimers-of-dimers {(WO3)2}2 rather than further cluster growth to trimers (WO3)2 and/or tetramers (WO3)4

    IMPLIKASI PERTANAHAN DALAM PENANGANAN KONFLIK AGRARIA DI INDONESIA

    This research analyzes the implications of land issues in handling agrarian conflicts in Indonesia using a normative juridical analysis method. By examining legislation, court decisions, and legal experts' opinions, this study reveals the close relationship between land issues and agrarian conflicts in Indonesia. The analyzed implications of land include regulatory aspects, legal certainty, and understanding of land issues in resolving agrarian conflicts. The research findings indicate that unclear, overlapping, or conflicting legislation can hinder the resolution of agrarian conflicts. Moreover, the divergence of court decisions significantly impacts the handling of agrarian conflicts. Legal experts' opinions also provide diverse perspectives on the implications of land in the context of resolving agrarian conflicts. To achieve sustainable resolution of agrarian conflicts, effective coordination among relevant institutions is necessary to improve land regulations, ensure legal certainty, and enhance understanding of land issues. Additionally, efforts to promote dialogue and community participation need to be strengthened in handling agrarian conflicts. Keywords: Land, Agrarian Conflict, Implications, Legal Certainty, Conflict Resolution.Penelitian ini menganalisis implikasi pertanahan dalam penanganan konflik agraria di Indonesia dengan menggunakan metode analisis yuridis normatif. Melalui pengkajian peraturan perundang-undangan, putusan pengadilan, dan pendapat para ahli hukum, penelitian ini mengungkapkan hubungan erat antara isu pertanahan dan konflik agraria di Indonesia. Implikasi pertanahan yang dianalisis meliputi aspek regulasi, kepastian hukum, dan pemahaman terhadap isu pertanahan dalam penyelesaian konflik agraria. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peraturan perundang-undangan yang belum jelas, tumpang tindih, atau berkonflik dapat mempersulit penyelesaian konflik agraria. Selain itu, keberagaman putusan pengadilan juga memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap penanganan konflik agraria. Pendapat para ahli hukum juga memberikan perspektif beragam tentang implikasi pertanahan dalam konteks penyelesaian konflik agraria. Dalam rangka mencapai penyelesaian konflik agraria yang berkelanjutan, diperlukan koordinasi yang baik antara lembaga-lembaga terkait dalam memperbaiki regulasi pertanahan, menjaga kepastian hukum, dan meningkatkan pemahaman akan isu pertanahan. Selain itu, upaya untuk meningkatkan dialog dan partisipasi masyarakat juga perlu diperkuat dalam penanganan konflik agraria.     Maslahat-ı Mürsele’ye (Public Interest) et-Tūfī- Merkezli Bir Bakış Bu araştırma, İslam Hukuku’ndaki Maslahat-ı Mürsele’nin (public interest) Nejmeddin el-Tūfī (657-716/1259-1316) bakış açısıyla metodolojik bir değerlendirmesidir. Maslahat konseptine genel bir atıf yaptıktan sonra Tūfī’nin köktenci fikirlerini, bu konudaki seçkin risalesi “Risalet el-Maslaha” yi göz önünde bulundurarak, tercümesiyle birlikte inceleyip ortaya koymak. Tūfī’nin maslahat anlayışı daha çok nass ve ijmâ‘ ile karşı karşıya geldiği zaman “tahsis” ve “beyân” yoluyla tercihinin yapılıyor olması dikkatleri üzerine çekmektedir ki bu İslam Hukuku’nun gelişmesine maslahat prensibiyle önemli bir katkı sağlamaktadır
