    Moral Panic and Islamic Comic Preaching on Social Media: Study of @Iqomic on Instagram

    The Instagram account @Iqomic (Islamic Quotes and Comics) has popularized preaching content about Islamic comics through social media. Islamic comics initiated by comic artists are a phenomenon. Iqomic was formed in a network of comic artist groups or communities consisting of social media content creators, professional and amateur comic artists. This article reviews the @Iqomic account on social media, especially the Instagram application. Iqomic is an Islamic comic preaching account whose mission is to spread goodness and convey Islam's blessings to all. In analyzing the Islamic comic da'wah movement carried out by the Icomic community, the author uses moral panic to explore how the Iqomic community spreads and mobilizes comic da'wah as an effort to fight negative discourse about Islam, such as anarchy, terrorism and radicalism in its environment. The author is of the opinion that, in response to the emergence of various negative discourses about Islam, Iqomic has succeeded in becoming a popular da'wah media by incorporating Islamic narratives into popular Islamic culture among teenagers and young adults, so that it has become one of the favorite platforms for sharing stories and being creative

    Agama dalam perspektif sosiologis sering muncul dalam dua wajah ganda, yaitu sebagai sumber konflik sekaligus sumber bina-damai. Faktanya, sulit dihindari bahwa adanya pemahaman yang menguatkan eskalasi konflik bersumber dari pemahaman ajaran agama, begitu juga sebaliknya proses bina-damai. Dalam konstruksi masyarakat Jawa, konflik dan bina-damai juga memiliki kekuatan dan kelemahannya masing-masing. Setidaknya dalam riset ini ditemukan bahwa masyarakat Jawa lebih memilih hidup rukun daripada konflik. Watak yang demikian mendominasi alam berpikir masyarakat Jawa. Oleh karena itu, bangunan tentang kedamaian mewujud tidak hanya dengan manusia melainkan juga dengan alam. Banyaknya prosesi ritualistik yang dibangun dalam sistem budaya menunjukkan bahwa orang Jawa senantiasa ingin berdamai dengan semua makhluk yang ada di alam raya.Kata kunci: Konflik, bina-damai, masyarakat Jawa, integrasi

    Penelitian ini bertujuan umtuk menemukan relasi konflik dan bina damai dalam masyarakat pedesaan jawa, tepatnya di dusun Turgo Lereng Merapi. Dusun Turgo menjadi unik dan menarik untuk diteliti karena di dusun ini terdapat 3 agama resmi, yaitu Islam, Katolik dan Protestan. Di wilayah ini juga dalam beberapa tulisan dan kampanye perdamaian menjadi sebuah wilayah yang ikonik, yaitu terkenal dengan nilai harmonis dan toleransi beragama yang baik. Sebagai desa wisata religius  serta dipromosikan sebagai ikon desa harmonis jika ditelisik dari perspektif teori konflik Dahendrof maka masyarakat selalu memiliki dua wajah, yaitu konflik dan integrasi. Paradigma teoritik ini penulis gunakan untuk menelaah masyarakat Turgo. Temuan dari penelitian ini adalah: Pertama, konflik keagamaan masyarakat Turgo terjadi karena adanya dominasi kekuasaan dan pengaruh keagamaan dimana ruang publik keagamaan dimonopoli oleh satu kelompok agama dengan tidak memberikan ruang gerak yang sama kepada agama lain. konflik pendirian Panti Asuhan Daarul Selamat Sinar Melati 26 adalah titik puncak konflik keagamaan dalam satu dekade trakhir. Potensi konflik keagamaan di Turgo ada pada dua pusaran, yaitu SD Katolik Tarakanita versus Panti Asuhan Daarul Selamat Sinar Melati 26. Kedua, dinamika bina-damai merupakan satu kekuatan yang menjadikan konflik di Turgo tidak mengalami eskalasi sampai pada bentuk manifest. Kerja bina-damai: dialog warga berbeda agama, konversi dan kohesi sosial.      This research begins with the emergence of the name 'Kampung Qur'ani' in the village of Bandar Setia. As a heterogeneous village of ethnic and religious aspect, Bandar Setia located in the outskirts of Medan became iconik how the implementation of the 'pilot project' the idea of kampung Qur'ani. This study focuses on the historical aspect of why Kampung Qur'ani can emerge with the socio-historical setting that accompanies it. It also discusses how the idea is run, with all the challenges and conveniences that exist. The result of this research are: 1) The emergence of Kampur Qur'ani is an effort to build a new stigma that has been negatively attached to the Village of Setia, a positive image whose hope can give a new nuance to the surrounding community; 2) Kampur Qur'ani emerged because of anxiety of religious leaders in the area of Bandar Setia because of the situation of people who are far from Islamic values; 3) the strategy of forming the value of qur'ani is done through various movements, namely free nursing school for children, dawn movement in congregation and various activities of syiar qur'an that have been held; 4) The challenge of implementing Kampung Qur'ani ideas among others is, there are still many uneducated societies in mass organizing, institutional and financial management as well as community involvement that has not been fully active in the movement

    The development of Islamic education institutions in Medan can not be separated from the urban communitys interest to send their children in schools labeled Islam. The enthusiasm of the public in prevering Islamic institutions is presented by such rapid growth and development, showd by 458 Islamic schools proliferate to out the county. The purpose of this research focuses on the quantity of the Islamic institution is inseparable from a proliferation of muslim urban middle class, that looks like to show the trend of the religious community of the city and clusters of school. The quality on the market, by selling the name of a curriculum which is basically used as a guide for all existing school. The research method used is field research with qualitative approach.The results of this research will be to explain aspects of Islamic educational institutions in terms of Orientation; the curriculum output is normative in accordance with National Education Standards, but the implementation process is modified in accordance with the religious understanding and inseparable from the “Islamic Label” of each school, Typology; the implementation of the pattern and character of Islamic education institutions in Medan does not symbolize his culture and Commercialization; the direction and purpose of the city community choose the leading Islamic schools which ultimately can open the opportunity for the practice of industrialization of education.Thus, the development of Islamic education institutions in the Medan, has not led to increased religiusity of society and characterized by poor practice of morality in the public

    This research is a study of the history of border conflicts in Muslim communities and their relationship with the level of education in rural areas of West Sumatra, namely in the Nagari Saniang Baka area with Nagari Muaro, Solok Regency as a case study. The history of the conflict developed along with the education level of the people from the two regions that had a history of conflict. The main focus is the construction of people's thinking about the importance of education before the conflict in 2008 and after the conflict. This study used a qualitative approach with twenty-five key informants, with a process of observation and interviews conducted for approximately six months. The result of this research is that the level of public understanding of education before the conflict between the two villages was very low, this is what makes conflicts easy to occur. Meanwhile, post-conflict, the level of community education is quite good which correlates with the community's understanding that conflict should not occur. Theoretically, conflict is a necessity, it always exists in the course of people's lives, but conflict must be controlled so that it is not destructive. In addition, the level of community education plays an important role in the conflict management process

    Penelitian ini merupakan kajian sejarah konflik perbatasan pada masyarakat muslim dan hubungannya dengan tingkat pendidikan di wilayah pedesaan Sumatera Barat, yakni di wilayah Nagari Saniang Baka dengan Nagari Muaro Kabupaten Solok sebagai studi kasus. Sejarah konflik berkembang seiring dengan tingkat pendidikan masyarakat dari kedua wilayah yang punya riwayat konflik. Fokus utama adalah konstruksi pemikiran masyarakat tentang pentingnya pendidikan sebelum terjadinya konflik pada tahun 2008 dan pasca konflik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan informan kunci sebanyak dua puluh lima orang, dengan proses observasi dan wawancara dilakukan selama kurang lebih enam bulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah tingkat pemahaman masyarakat tentang pendidikan sebelum terjadinya konflik antar dua desa tersebut sangat rendah, hal ini yang menjadikan konflik mudah sekali terjadi. Sementara pasca konflik, tingkat pendidikan masyarakat sudah cukup baik yang berkorelasi dengan pemahaman masyarakat bahwa konflik tidak seharusnya tidak terjadi. Secara teoritis, konflik adalah sebuah keniscayaan, ia selalu ada dalam perjalanan hidup masyarakat, namun konflik harus dapat dikendalikan agar tidak desktruktif.
