Taxonomic Key to the Lacessittermes Holmgren (Termitidae: Nasutitermitinae) From Sumatra

    Get PDF
A taxonomic key based on soldier and worker characters for an open air processional column termites genera, Lacessititermes, was constructed from material collected from Sumatra and adjacent islands from 1998 to 2017. As many as seven species of the genus are taxonomically difficult and complicated. Soldier caste is efective to separate L. piliferus, L. longinsus, L. albipes and L. batavus while mandible characters are efective to separate L. laborator from L. sordidus. Combination of soldier and worker characters are highly useful for identification of Lacessititermes from Sumatra

Biosystematics Of Hospitalitermes Hospitalis Holmgren (Isoptera) From Borneo

This article redescribes Hospitalitermes hospitalis of open-air processional column termitesfrom Central Kalimantan, Borneo Indonesia. In many publications, this nasute termite is one of very incomplete descriptions. Condition of head capsule and its coloration (soldier caste), mandibles and antennae (soldier caste) are importance characters identification work. This species showed a large variation of nesting sites and dimorphism of worker caste

The research was intended to know the effectiveness of Word FindPuzzle in the students’ vocabulary mastery which was observed andanalyzed from students of tenth grade at SMA Baitul Aziz BandarKlippa. The method used was quatitative research by using theexperimental research design. The population of this study wastenth grade students of SMA Baitul Aziz Bandar Klippa. In takingthe sample of this research, the researchers took some students ineach classes as the sample used and divided into 2 classes, experimental and control. There were 34 students in theexperimental and 26 students in control. The researchers taught byusing the Word Find Puzzle in the experimental class and taught byusing lecturing method in control class. The researchers used pretest, treatment, and post-test. In control class the score increase59,23 between pre-test and post-test, but in experimental class thescore increase about 68,85. By calculated by used SPSS V24, Theresearcherss concluded that there was a significant effect of theapplication of the Word Find Puzzle learning approach on learningoutcomes, it can be seen from the results of the analysis that this isindicated by the results of hypothesis testing which indicate that theSig. (2 - tailed) <0.05 (0.000 <0.05) and the value of t_ (count)> ttable (6.365> 1.992). Then in post test the researchers found thatthe value of Sig. (2tailed) is 0,923. It is bigger than 0,05(0,923>0,05) Sig. in T-Test (2tailed) is 0,002. It was less than 0,05(0,002>0,05), so there was a significant different between theexperiment class and control class. In other words, the students’achievement in vocabulary mastery is more effective by using WordFind Puzzle than lecturing method

Student And Teacher Interaction Patterns In The Quran (Study of Surah Al-Baqarah Verses 30-31)

This study aims to analyze the interpretation of the surah about the pattern of interaction between teachers and students in Q. S. Al-Baqarah verses 30-31. This study uses a qualitative method, using a library research approach. The primary data sources in this study were the Qur'an al-Karim and the books of interpretation, such as: Tafsir Al-Misbah, Tafsir Al-Wasith, Tafsir Jalalain, Tafsir Muyassar, Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Tafsir Al-Azhar, and Tafsir Al-Qur'an. The results show that the interpretation of Surah al-Baqarah verses 30-31 by mufassirin regarding teacher and student interactions can be described as follows: Interaction between teachers and students should be based on mutual understanding and must take place in an atmosphere of mutual respect. This attitude as shown by Allah swt as a teacher who makes a decision and angels as obedient and obedient students for what is the will of Allah is a reflection of a wise attitude in providing guidance or teaching to their students and students also have a sense of humility, obedience and obey the teacher. The pattern of interaction between teachers and students in Surah al-Baqarah verse 30 uses a two-way interaction pattern, namely reciprocal communication between teachers and students. Meanwhile, in Surah al-Baqarah verse 31, it uses a three-way interaction pattern (teacher-student-teacher-student pattern)

The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the effect of picture card media on the visual-spatial ability of early childhood, (2) The effect of picture card media on the mathematical logic ability of early childhood, and (3) Differences in the effect of picture card media on visual spatial and mathematical logic abilities of early childhood. This research method is an experimental method, and this type of research is classroom action research which aims to see how far the influence of picture card media on visual spatial abilities and mathematical logic abilities of early childhood. All stages carried out in this classroom action research are actions that form a cycle which includes planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were all students in groups B1 and B2 aged 5-6 years Raudhatul Athfal Al-Muhajirin Medan Deli. The results of this study are (1) Picture card media has a significant effect on children's visual-spatial abilities. This can be seen from the increase in children's visual-spatial abilities by 79% which developed very well after using picture cards. (2) Picture card media has a significant effect on children's mathematical logic skills. This can be seen from the increase in children's mathematical logic skills by 88% which developed very well after using picture cards. (3) Based on the F test that has been carried out, the picture card media has an effect on the visual spatial ability and mathematical logic ability of children together by 77.4% and the remaining 22.6% (100-77, 4) influenced by other variables. Keywords: Picture Card Media, Visual Spatial Ability, Mathematical Logic                     Ability

Among three genera of open-air processional column termites in Sumatra, Longipeditermes is the most commonly observed. Their workers make food balls at the foraging sites and carry them back to the nest. This genus has a black color, long legs and antennae. Antenna is much paler than head capsule in coloration, with the basal segments (first and second) are generally darker than subsequent ones; antenna is long with fourteen segments; third segment is twice as long as fourth or more. Their distribution in Sumatra is mentioned briefl
