Role of the cooling rate in the stability of the superconducting phase of (TMTSF)_2ClO_4

The noncentrosymmetric ClO$_4$ anions of the organic superconductor (TMTSF)$_2$ClO$_4$ order below 24K. The size of domains where the anions are ordered is substantially dependent on the cooling rate which is a key parameter for the stability of the low temperature electronic ground states. We study the effect of the cooling rate on the SC phase within a self consistent approach in the framework of the time dependent Ginzburg-Landau theory taking into account the superconducting fluctuations. We derive the superconducting transition temperature which is found to decrease with increasing cooling rate in agreement with recent experimental data.Comment: 5 pages including one figure. Les collocations dans le discours spécialisés : le cas de la terminologie ornithologique

The aim of this paper is to show the problems that pose the establisment of a new terminological apparatus within an area where the referent is, firstly, relatively universal because it is stable, and secondly it is a referent that is very much influenced by local cultures. After a lexicographic assessment, we will provide evidence related to the issue of the development of consistent terminology that reflects the linguistic and conceptual requirements. In order to achieve this, we will work with the semantic field of ornithology. Particular attention will be paid to polylexical names used in order to distinguish species. Our goal is to establish a typology of expansions joined to noun phrases both in French and Arabic and to compare them to identify regularities and the impact on the functioning of syntagmatic names in the speech

Figement et incorporation : l’établissement d’un concordancier bilingue (français-arabe)

Partant du constat que la polylexicalité est une marque morphologique qui permet d’intégrer dans la traduction la notion d’équivalence entre unités polylexicales et unités monolexicales, nous avons essayé de montrer l’enchevêtrement entre ces deux mécanismes essentiels de la dynamique lexicale, à savoir le figement et la dérivation. Cette complémentarité n’est pas sans poser de problème lors du passage d’une langue à une autre, plus particulièrement du français vers l’arabe ou inversement, étant donné qu’elle est loin de se traduire de la même façon. Ceci représente un obstacle incontournable devant l’élaboration de concordanciers bilingues français-arabe.On the basis that polylexicality is a morphological mark that allows us to integrate the notion of equivalence between polylexical and monolexical units into translation, we tried to demonstrate the tangled relation between two essential mechanisms of lexical dynamics, namely those of fixation and derivation. This complementarity, given that it is far from being translated in the same way, is not unproblematic during the passage from one language into another, more particularly from French into Arabic or conversely. It represents an obstacle impossible to circumvent when one is faced with the development of bilingual French-Arabic concordancers

Cultural distance impact on internationalization process

This research is part of work related to international business development, specifically the national culture differences’ impact on internationalization decision making and managerial strategies used for the expansion. Through qualitative research, a case study approach was used on France Loisirs, a company that decided to expand its business operations only in French-speaking countries. The main research question to be addressed is the following: In what ways does cultural distance influence the internationalization process? We approached the process of analyzing the head question by gathering theoretical research and conducting semi structured interviews answering the following sub-research questions: How does cultural distance impact the decision making? How does cultural distance impact the implementation stage? And how does cultural distance impact the business success? The study’s research concludes that in fact national culture interferes on different levels of internationalization and shapes the way companies decide their expansion. Language similarity reveals to be a leading variable in psychic distance which impacts the firm’s internationalization strategy, market selection and constrains product adaptation to local demand.Esta pesquisa é parte de um trabalho relacionado com o desenvolvimento de negócios a nível internacional, especificamente o impacto das diferenças culturais na decisão de internacionalização e respectivas estratégias de gestão. Através de uma pesquisa qualitativa, foi utilizada uma abordagem de caso de estudo a respeito da France Loisirs, uma empresa que decidiu expandir as suas operações de negocio apenas em países de língua francesa. A principal questão de pesquisa a ser respondida é a seguinte: De que forma a distancia cultural influencia o processo de internacionalização Nos abordamos o processo de analise desta mesma questão respondendo as seguintes subquestões: De que forma a distancia cultural tem impacto no processo de decisão De que forma a distancia cultural tem impacto na etapa de internacionalização E de que forma a distancia cultural tem impacto no sucesso empresarial? A pesquisa realizada neste estudo conclui que de facto a cultura nacional interfere a diferentes níveis no processo de internacionalização e define também o modo como as empresas decidem a sua expansão. A similaridade da língua revela ser uma variável principal na distancia psíquica, o que influencia a estratégia de internacionalização, selecção de mercado e restringe a adaptação do produto à procura local

Current dependent fluctuations in a Bi2_2Sr2_2CuO6+δ_{6+\delta} thin film

The current dependence of the excess conductivity is measured up to $\simeq 3 T_c$ for a Bi$_2$Sr$_2$CuO$_{6+\delta}$ thin film, as a function of doping. It is found to be anomalously sensitive to the transport current and to behave as a universal function of $T/T_c$ in the whole doping range. We discuss these results in the perspective of a granular superconductor with a gapless-like behavior

Upper critical field from normal state fluctuations in Bi2_2Sr2_2CuO6+δ_{6+\delta}

The in-plane magnetoresistance of an epitaxial Bi$_2$Sr$_2$CuO$_{6+\delta}$ thin film was systematically investigated as a function of doping, above $T_c$. The orbital magnetoconductance is used to extract the crossover field line $H_{c2}^*(T)$ in the fluctuation regime. This field is found in good agreement with the upper critical field obtained from resistivity data below $T_c$, and exhibits a similar upward curvature, thus pointing toward the existence of a critical correlation length. The consequences regarding the nature of the resistive transition are discussed

Dosage of 2,6-Bis (1.1-Dimethylethyl)-4-Methylphenol (BHT) in the Plant Extract Mesembryanthemum crystallinum

A naturally occurring BHT was identified in the leaves of the halophyte plant Mesembryanthemum crystallinum. This phenol was extracted in this study by two methods at the different plant growth stages. One of the methods was better for BHT extraction; the concentration of this phenol is plant growth stage dependent. In this study, the floraison stage has the highest BHT concentration. The antioxidant activity of the plant extract was not related to BHT concentration. The higher antioxidant activity is obtained at seedlings stage

Identification of a naturally occurring 2, 6-bis (1.1- dimethylethyl)-4-methylphenol from purple leaves of the halophyte plant Mesembryanthemum crystallinum

2, 6-Bis (1.1-dimethylethyl)-4-methylphenol (BHT) is a synthetic antioxidant used generally for food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. The leaf extract from the halophyte plant, Mesembryanthemumcrystallinum, was fractionated by using semi-preparative HPLC. The different fractions were tested for their antioxidant activity using DPPH method. One fraction exhibited a high level of antioxidant activity.The molecule responsible for this antioxidant activity was identified as 2, 6-bis (1.1-dimethylethyl)-4-methylphenol) by gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy (GC/MS)
