The period variability of (O-C) diagram of an eclipsing binary, NSVS 14256825, which is composed of a hot subdwarf type OB star (sdOB) and a main-sequence low-mass type M star (dM) in close orbit with period P=0.110374 days, previously showed sinusoidal signal cause by the light travel time effects. This signal can be caused by the presence of third bodies. We re-examined (O-C) diagram of the system. We combined eclipse timings from published data and the data taken from ULTRASPEC at 2.4 m at Thai National Telescope on November 2018. From the fitting model, the parameters of the third body in NSVS 14256825 system are obtained

Objective: Inpatient rehabilitation and treatment systems, the Residential Treatment Centers (RTC) are widely used in the treatment of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) cases and offer the advantages of keeping a combination of several applications. 'Oguz Kagan Koksal Social Care and Rehabitation Center' is the first RTC in Turkey providing services to girl CSA victims. In this study, demographic, clinical and follow-up findings of patients treated in this center since the establishment of the six year period will be presented. Methods: This study included 152 girls aged between 8-18 years who had histories of CSA, neglect or other kinds of adverse experiences, and in need for treatment or protecttion. Demographic and abuse-specific data were obtained from file records. The Child Beck Depression Inventory, the Trait-State Anxiety Inventory-1, -2, the Moudsley Obsessive Compulsive Questionnaire, and the Clinical Global Impression Scale were administered at the beginning and at the end of the treatment period. Results: A history of CSA was reported by 120 girls. Almost half of the cases were diagnosed as posttraumatic stress disorder, 23.7% as borderline personality disorder, 21.1% as destructive behavior disorders, and 9.2 as bipolar disorder. In the treatment, 95% of cases taken at least one psychotropic medication. The most commonly used drugs were antipsychotics, and given in treatment of 81.4% of girls. In addition, 51.7% of cases taken mood stabilizers, and 25.5% of them took antidepressants. Mean score of all psychometric tests were improved significantly at the end point compared to the baseline. Conclusion: Our findings support the usefulness of the system presented herein for child and adolescent victims

An update on the relationships between rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease. Cardiovascular events are the most important cause of mortality and morbidity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Beyond the traditional cardiovascular risk factors, chronic systemic inflammation has been shown to be a crucial factor in atherosclerosis development and progression from endothelial dysfunction to plaque rupture and thrombosis. Many studies have shown that atherosclerosis is not a passive event like accumulation of lipids in the vessel walls; by contrast, it represents an active inflammation of the vessels. Inflammatory cells such as macrophages, monocytes and T cells play important roles in the development of both rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis. In this article we analyse the relationships between rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis

Probing transit timing variations of three hot Jupiters: HATP-36b, HATP-56b, and WASP-52b

We report the results of new transit observations for the three hot Jupiter-like planets, HATP-36b, HATP-56b, and WASP-52b, respectively. Transit timing variations (TTVs) are presented for these systems based on observations that span the period 2016-2020. The data were collected with the 0.6-m telescope at Adiyaman University (ADYU60, Turkey) and the 1.0 m telescope at TÜBCrossed D signTAK National Observatory (TUG, Turkey). Global fits were performed to the combined light curves for each system along with the corresponding radial velocity (RV) data taken from the literature. The extracted parameters (for all three systems) are found to be consistent with the values from previous studies. Through fits to the combined mid-Transit times data from our observations and the data available in the literature, an updated linear ephemeris is obtained for each system. Although a number of potential outliers are noted in the respective O-C diagrams, the majority of the data are consistent within the 3σ confidence level implying a lack of convincing evidence for the existence of additional objects in the systems studied

Prevalence, comorbidities and mediators of childhood anxiety disorders in urban Turkey: a national representative epidemiological study

Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the prevalence of anxiety disorders, its correlation with sociodemographic characteristics, its comorbidities with other psychiatric disorders and its predictors in school-aged children. Methods: This study is part of a representative, multi-centered national study that is planned by the Turkish Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health to evaluate the prevalence of psychopathology among elementary school students in Turkey between the years 2014–2015. Children are screened via Kiddie Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia for School Age Children Present and Lifetime Version. Impairment is assessed by a 3-point Likert type scale independently by the parent and the teacher. The final sample included 5842 children with the mean age of 8.7 years. Results: The prevalence of any anxiety disorder without considering impairment is 16.7% and considering impairment is 5.2% in children according to our study. We found significant differences for comorbid Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Disruptive Behavior Disorder, Mood Disorders, Tic Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Enuresis Nocturna, Encopresis, and Intellectual Disability. Having a history of paternal physical disorder, living in the regions of Marmara, Mediterranean and Black Sea were found to be the main predictors of having childhood anxiety disorders according to the logistic regression analysis. Conclusion: Better understanding of childhood anxiety disorders, comorbid conditions and predictors will result in earlier diagnosis and more appropriate treatment
