The study of the endoparasitic cephaline gregarine in the gut content of millipede (Chondromorpha severini) was found to be infested with a new species (Stenophora bristili) of genus Stenophora (Labee, 1899). It differs from all the earlier reported species. The shape of the body of cephalont small elongated, slightly curved and rounded posterior end. Potomerite consists of fine bundle of bristles. The Sporont is elongated curved, slightly tapering and rounded posterior end, having brush like broader in between protomerite and deutomerite, Nucleus isspherical with ecentric karyosome. The different developmental stages including cephalont, sporont, gametocyst and sporocyst have been observed

A study of the reasons for rising NPA’s in public and private sector banks in India and measures to control it.

A strong banking sector is essential for a flourishing economy. A major hindrance faced by most banks today is the problem of non-performing assets (NPA’s).A high level of NPA’s suggests a high degree of credit defaults which, in turn affects the profitability of banks. Decreased profitability implies an unfavorable financial statement which in turn discourages investors from investing in the banks under consideration .Thus, the banks lose out on investments in the long run. This paper discusses the reasons for increased NPA’s and how the emergence of credit rating agencies (CRA’s) and asset  reconstruction companies (ARC’s) help in controlling the growth of NPA’s

Binarization Technique on Historical Documents using Edge Width Detection

Document images often suffer from different types of degradation that renders the document image binarization is a challenging task. Document image binarization is of great significance in the document image analysis and recognition process because it affects additional steps of the recognition development. The Comparison of image gradient and image contrast is estimated by the local maximum and minimum which has high quality. So, it is more tolerant to the rough lighting and other types of document degradation such as low contrast images and partially visible images. The distinction between the foreground text and the background text of different document images is a difficult task. This paper presents a new document image binarization technique that focus on these issues using adaptive image contrast. The grouping of the local image contrast and the local image slope is the adaptive image contrast so as to tolerate the text and surroundings distinction caused by dissimilar types of text degradations. In image binarization technique, the construction of adaptive contrast map is done for an input degraded document image which is then adaptively binarized and combined with Canny’s edge detector to recognize the text stroke edge pixels. The document text is advance segmented by means of a local threshold. We try to apply the self-training adaptive binarization approach on existing binarization methods, which improves not only the performance of existing binarization methods, but also the, toughness on different kinds of degraded document images. Effect of Different Supplementary Cementitious Material on the Microstructure and its Resistance Against Chloride Penetration of Concrete

    Get PDF
Various research programes on long term durability of concrete are going on through -out the world. An attempt is made to study the microstructure of the concrete with the addition of different SCM like fly ash, GGBS, metakaolin, silica fume, and rice husk ash. In this paper, data is presented in a simplified manner for the sake of convenience. Hydration is a continuous process and so microstructure of HPC and interfacial zone (ITZ) can change with age and effect of environment by the influencing agents present in it. Rapid chloride permeability test (RCPT) is carried out on the various samples prepared with fly ash, GGBS, metakaolin, silica fume, and rice husk, are presented in this paper

Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Glioblastoma: A Review

    Get PDF
INTRODUCTION In 2017, it is estimated that 26,070 patients will be diagnosed with a malignant primary brain tumor in the United States, with more than half having the diagnosis of glioblas- toma (GBM).1 Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a widely utilized examination in the diagnosis and post-treatment management of patients with glioblastoma; standard modalities available from any clinical MRI scanner, including T1, T2, T2-FLAIR, and T1-contrast-enhanced (T1CE) sequences, provide critical clinical information. In the last decade, advanced imaging modalities are increasingly utilized to further charac- terize glioblastomas. These include multi-parametric MRI sequences, such as dynamic contrast enhancement (DCE), dynamic susceptibility contrast (DSC), diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), functional imaging, and spectroscopy (MRS), to further characterize glioblastomas, and significant efforts are ongoing to implement these advanced imaging modalities into improved clinical workflows and personalized therapy approaches. A contemporary review of standard and advanced MR imaging in clinical neuro-oncologic practice is presented

Today data security and its transmission over the wireless network need special attention. Intruder always has a watch on sensitive data transmitted over a wireless network. This work proposes an approach that minimizes the quantization error between the original and result carrier by selecting optimize samples during Data Hiding. Propose work find out best matching carrier components during the data hiding process. Results also imply that achieved results are far better than any other steganographic method

    Isolated multiple cutaneous verruciform xanthomas

Verruciform xanthoma (VX) is a rare benign skin condition, primarily of the oral mucosa that can also affect the skin and genital mucosa. The etiology is not yet completely understood; though its association with conditions of chronic inflammation or trauma, chronic lymphedema, chronic graft versus host disease and CHILD syndrome are mentioned in the literature. Here, we report the case of multiple verruciform xanthomas on the bilateral forearms and upper back of a 25-year-old man in the absence of chronic skin disease or systemic disease and surprisingly, he didn’t have mucosal VX too. Histopathology of the lesion showed nodular dense infiltrate of foamy macrophages in the papillary dermis which stained positive for CD68
