    Catchment areas of high-speed rail stations: a model based on spatial analysis using ridership surveys

    This paper focuses on the spatial influence of High-Speed Rail stations, based on the notion of catchment area. Given the features of High-Speed Rail, its operations can and must serve a role beyond the station and the city in which it is located. Using a spatial systemic approach, this paper proposes a method to analyse the factors that may affect the size and shape of the catchment areas according to the relationship between distance and ridership. This study employs data from surveys of six stations of the Spanish high-speed rail system to apply the model and demonstrates that the context is crucial for regional use. The outcome also proves that other relevant factors should be considered in addition to the network to extend the use of highspeed services and increase its profits, which is a potential approach for future research

    Interventions on the social dimension of people with chronic heart failure: a systematic review of randomized controlled trials

    Aims The symptom burden of patients with chronic heart failure (CHF), together with social determinants and psychosocial factors, results in limitations to maintain adequate social life and roles, participate in social events and maintain relationships. This situation's impact on health outcomes makes it of utmost importance to develop meaningful social networks for these patients. The primary objective aimed to identify randomized controlled trials that impact the social dimension of people with CHF. The secondary objectives were to analyze the methodological quality of these interventions, establish their components, and synthesize their results. Methods and results A systematic review following PRISMA guidelines was conducted in Pubmed, Scopus, Cochrane CENTRAL, PsychINFO, and CINAHL databases between 2010 and February 2022. The Revised Cochrane risk-of-bias tool for randomized trials was used. The protocol was registered in PROSPERO. Eight randomized controlled trials were identified, among which two were at ‘high risk of bias.’ Interventions were synthesized according to the following categories: delivery format, providers and recipients, and the intervention content domains. Half of the studies showed statistical superiority in improving the intervention group's social support in people with CHF. Conclusion This review has highlighted the scarcity of interventions targeting the social dimension of people with CHF. Interventions have been heterogeneous, which limits the statistical combination of studies. Based on narrative review and vote counting, such interventions could potentially improve social support and self-care, which are important patient reported outcomes, thus warrant further research. Future studies should be co-created with patients and families to be adequately targeted

    Modern Model of Competences of Personal Agents as Increase Factor of Clients’ Subjective Well-being

    The model of competences of personal agents is developed in the article. The model allows raising the level of subjective well-being of clients and promotes the growth of main indicators characterizing productivity of personal selling. The author designates a new group of stakeholders with which the company has to develop relationship for realization of a social orientation. Relationship marketing is defined taking into account the priority of its broad treatments and orientation on developing relationships with various groups of people. The concept ‘personal agent’ is entered into the theory of marketing. This concept reflects the activity of the seller in modern conditions more precisely. The definition of personal selling is given. Novelty of the author's formulation of this definition is that the personal agents have to own skillfully technologies of sales for achieving their purpose. It is proved that the main objective of personal selling in the context of relationship marketing is not sale of goods, but development of relationship between clients and personal agents (company). The author proves the importance of application of psychological theories and offers the method of creation of a psychological portrait of clients on the basis of classification of standard psychological characteristics. The behavioural indicators characterizing demonstration of all main competences of personal agents are revealed and presented

    EVALUATION OF IN VITRO ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY AND HPTLC ANALYSIS OF PLANT PHYLLANTHUS FRATERNUS

    Objective: The present investigation evaluated in vitro anti-inflammatory activity of Phyllanthus fraternus. Inhibition of Cyclooxygenase and 5-lipoxygenase was performed along with protein denaturation.Methods: Alcoholic extract of plant was subjected to in vitro anti-inflammatory activity and HPTLC analysis.Results: The results of anti-inflammatory activity showed significant inhibition in Cyclooxygenase and 5-lipoxygenase assay, extract also showed more than 70 % inhibition in protein denaturation method. HPTLC of plant materials was also performed; spots of alkaloids were recorded.Conclusion: Different alkaloids were spotted in chromatographic analysis and study suggested that anti-inflammatory activity of Phyllanthus fraternus may be due to the presence of alkaloids.Â

    The present investigation involves antimicrobial and phytochemical evaluation of Cissus quadrangularis L. The antibacterial activity of Cissus quadrangularis was performed using disk diffusion method. The Results of study proved prompt efficacy of herbal extract against S. aureus and E. coli. The concentration dependent antibacterial activity of extract was observed against both organisms. Study also involves phytochemical investigation of herbal extract using HPTLC, IR and UV-Visible spectrophotometer. The result of study indicated that the methanolic extract possessed most potent antibacterial activity as compared to other extract. The antibacterial activity increases with the concentration and results indicated that the diameters of zone inhibition of the extract were comparable with the standard drug. The antimicrobial potential of plant extract may be attributed to the presence of specific phytoconstituents

    The Stark interaction of polar molecules with an inhomogeneous electric field is exploited to select slow molecules from a room-temperature reservoir and guide them into an ultrahigh vacuum chamber. A linear electrostatic quadrupole with a curved section selects molecules with small transverse and longitudinal velocities. The source is tested with formaldehyde (H2CO) and deuterated ammonia (ND3). With H2CO a continuous flux is measured of approximately 10^9/s and a longitudinal temperature of a few K.     RATIONAL DESIGN OF ANTIBACTERIAL THIENOPYRIMIDINES BY 2D-QSAR STUDY

    QSAR studies were performed on a set of 43 analogs of thienopyrimidine using V-Life Molecular Design Suite (MDS 3.5) QSAR plus module by using Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and Partial Least Squares (PLS) Regression methods against a gram positive (S.aureus) and a gram negative (E.coli) bacteria. MLR method has shown a very promising prediction results in both S.aureus and E.coli. QSAR model was generated by a training set of 34 molecules with correlation coefficient (r2) of 0.9849, 0.8719, significant cross validated correlation coefficient (q2) of 0.8881, 0.7811 and F test of  40.4301, 40.4768 respectively. In the selected descriptors, alignment independent descriptors such as T_C_C_7, T_N_O_3, T_2_N_1, T_N_O_1, T_O_O_7 and T_N_Cl_4 were the most important descriptors in predicting antibacterial activity

    Doping Independent Work Function and Stable Band Gap of Spinel Ferrites with Tunable Plasmonic and Magnetic Properties

    Tuning optical or magnetic properties of nanoparticles, by addition of impurities, for specific applications is usually achieved at the cost of band gap and work function reduction. Additionally, conventional strategies to develop nanoparticles with a large band gap also encounter problems of phase separation and poor crystallinity at high alloying degree. Addressing the aforementioned trade-offs, here we report Ni–Zn nanoferrites with energy band gap (Eg) of ≈3.20 eV and a work function of ≈5.88 eV. While changes in the magnetoplasmonic properties of the Ni–Zn ferrite were successfully achieved with the incorporation of bismuth ions at different concentrations, there was no alteration of the band gap and work function in the developed Ni–Zn ferrite. This suggests that with the addition of minute impurities to ferrites, independent of their changes in the band gap and work function, one can tune their magnetic and optical properties, which is desired in a wide range of applications such as nanobiosensing, nanoparticle based catalysis, and renewable energy generation using nanotechnology
